  1. Well, it seems like we're all very curious to the business/political side around Corsica, EDGE, Belsimtek and Eagle Dynamics. The question remains if public relations has ticklish feelings for spreading some unofficial news. At least grant us a nice news article when we only get to replay the video. :music_whistling:

  3. The program itself hasn't changed and it most likely never will by my personal uneducated in lua hand. Servman still seems to function on this much newer DCS software. The question is for how long. Most likely until the same functions will come as a standard in DCS multiplayer server where it could create function conflicts. In these non-official versions only DCS World 1.2.6.17746 compatibility is created and quick and easy download that should/could function with the lastest official DCS World release. When someone has made a small improvement for himself or god knows what else with this plugin and doesn't mind sharing any improvement with the fanbase public then by all means post it for implementation and everlasting fame. Quick, easy and simple should be the motto with Servman!

  10. So you guys are creating a combat game now without smoke and effects? When i need to alter a game in a way to gain FPS to make it playable again, i usualy buy a new piece of hardware to solve it. I understand the smoke thingy, however rotor effects and such? Really, removing that is an insult to the artist that put his life on the line for creating the model. Buy a better computer.

  14. 'Hiding those icons for FC3 owners means losing potential sales' Visual clarity in the main lobby on what you do and don't have works. I see no honest reason to keep the dollar signs on the separate modules when you already own FC3. It would avoid irrelevant discussion too. There's still the manual way of renaming your pictures in your game folder to the ones that don't have dollar signs.....
  15. Yes, that's correct Grimes. To be honest, after a bottle of good wine at a bonfire and a good night of sleep, i decided it's not a problem, but a feature. This opens a variety of new fun possibility's in single player missions where you can switch around in all sorts of vehicles without having to start up again and have even more mission functionality. I guess i'll have to work around my old ways of testing triggers and zones. :D
  16. My TrackIr seems to work normally. Is TrackNoir officially supported? Perhaps the update changed something in your settings causing conflicts in view axis.
  17. Hey guys, I have a problem where the AI takes over the aircraft when you switch to another 'client' aircraft. Lets say when you have 1-8 client aircraft set up on an airfield and load up in one, however you need to switch to another, the previous aircraft doesn't disappear, but starts doing the set up flight plan route to what is set up. When you get into each one of them they all start doing their round of waypoints. This feature might have something to do with the ability to control aircraft within CA or maybe something else. I don't know. My question is: Is there a dedicated option somewhere hidden to turn this off? I have in mind to use the 'AI off' option, however haven't tested it yet while typing this post. Any suggestions? EDIT: It seems you can only turn off group or unit AI's off for ground vehicles and ships. The AI doesn't seem to take over former client aircraft on the currently running MP servers so i'm testing to see what happens when running the mission on a server instead of local. --> It only seems to happen when running a mission as local or inside the mission editor, the client aircraft aren't taken over by AI and disappear as usual when the mission is run as a server.   19. Unfortunatly the gear doesn't seem to collapse. The full gear vanishes into the ground and still exists when the plane is on its belly. I've been watching some F15's doing landing for some time yesterday evening on the Freeflight open server with even Matt's F15 going through buildings and floating on water in the sea at some point. It seems like the model/groundlocation detection is buggered. It starts when the nosewheel makes the touchdown and the the engines determination of location is in conflict with the F15's. F15: i'm here, engine: no you're not, F15: yes i am!!, engine: go to hell!! loool. It's similar to the older carrier bug where the deck detection was out of control. It's possible that this is related to the F15 only and that a fix is planed, but maybe not before AFM. I hope it's covered, because i like the FC3 module.
  20. yeah, you're right my friend, although i'm not so sure if i and others still will be around for it and already blended to something else to spend time and money on. We still live in a world where it's all about the money in the end. Familiy's need to eat and pensions need to be build, you get my drift? Handing out tools without letting it generate millions these days and have tons of time and cost involved simply is a hard nutt to crack, but i'll stop now. I'm not going to make a fool out of myself here. Have fun and a good weekend, also happy 4th of Juli to our US playerbase.
  21. I'm not comparing anything, because from my point of view there's nothing to compare, all i'm saying is that shit is already outthere. Time to wake up or fall behind.

To be honest, i have no idea how far the ED team is on EDGE, but what i do know is that building a complete engine with tools from scratch takes a bunch of very good programmers working for years on it with high cost involved while something usefull might already be around and up for grabs. This other developer is only busy with content for the engine, which ED already has, unless ED has plans for outsourcing this EDGE engine to other developers and god knows what. I'm sure that only the current DCS packs won't cover the full cost and profit for EDGE development and having an SDK available for 3rd party developers for free. It's quite possible that a full blown EDGE might take more than 1,5-2 years of development and to be very honest, i'm not so sure if allot of DCS customers still want to fly that long in the pyramid skies of out beloved Caucasus. At this very moment things are changing rapidly in the gaming industry with new high definition and performance hardware that can support way more than what eventually will come out of EDGE. The polygons are already being thrown around and things are about to kick off bigtime. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
  23. I heard that Cry-engine 3 is a open SDK download and the Crytec devs even helped out another game game to make it suitable for large space environments with great effect tools and everything. It might even be free too. It also supports everything that ED is looking for. The current playground of that modified version might even be bigger than the current Caucasus map, it's worth looking into. It will save alot of time, effort and money building something from scratch when it works for DCS too.
  24. Basic airplane functionality is a must in a flightsim, correct me if i'm wrong. Landing worked fine untill some period in beta. FC3 is now officialy out of beta for some time, however gameplay lets me conclude it is not.
  25. It's clearly a bug and still there, i find it annoying that something this basic isn't fixed. these are fully payed for products that are borked. A bug here and there might always be the case, but this is clearly broken. +1 on wanting this fixed, it's the main reason i don't check in that often anymore and don't play your products ED. It also keeps me from buying anything else. I'm sure i'm not alone in this.
