Can DCS World be run on a server for in home games
BRooDJeRo replied to sim927's topic in General Questions
Yes, that is what the multiplayer is. With the option to just host it in your Local Area Network and open internet. The machine you run the mission on is the server, the rest logs in through the multiplayerserverlist. Most of the internet based servers you see are all private server/homebrew setups. -
Sounds like it's time for the batphone to central administration and see what's realy going on behind the screenz. When there is something missing then something paymentproof-ish must exist somewhere to show off with.

You can use the same serial that u used to activate your standalone 1.1.1.1 to activate the A-10c module for DCS world. DCS world is a free download, you already have the serial for the A-10C. Just start downloading DCS world and module for free from the official DCS website please. Stop waving around that creditcard at amazon.

Just keep in mind that we still live on a planet with at least 60% beavis's and Butthead's. A popular open server with export on is a hot breedingground for these individuals. It might work better for public passworded or private servers.

AI calls "Springfield" "Hawg and "Enfield" "Boar", WTH?
BRooDJeRo replied to Bahger's topic in Mission Editor
I think it worked somewhat before FC3 aprox (very wet finger)... -
Or choice 'C'....

I think we all have the same thing. AWACS Magic taking off calls out a springfield airborne at 18000 etc. Not intermixing of callsigns has the same result here. If they were human it would be called identity crysis or conducting Einstein experiments with attempts of being at two places at once. :music_whistling: It seems when an airplane fly's, it's currently not top priority. The stuff that does :pain: goes first. -
Yeah i noticed. Seems this update was a hotfix for the worst ctd's and crashes. Perhaps more luck next time.

I have to admit too c0ff....you made some awesome music. I'm amazed how a song changes over time, specialy with a bit of that smokey green stuff. Somewhere near is a link to more of his music....can't find it at the moment.

It's more clear to me now, thank you. Right now i'm at the point where i tried different entry's in the DOFILE like the one you presented and something with the given group id from the missionfile created. It didn't give me any score after waiting for 10 minutes, be airborne etc, but it also doesn't give me any errors. I've also attached the testmissionfile for curiosity, but for now it doesn't seem to work.....yet. local table = { ["group"] = 10, ['score'] = 100, } Still i'm not giving up lol! All elements seem to be around. At first i was already thinking of making an extra function of existing elements like MIST, SLMod or Servman does. But for that i need to study on how the current scoring code is. Right now i'm reading through all the files present in DCS to see if i can find where the scoring is applied when i shoot down a Su-33 and get 50 points for it for instance. Somewhere there must be some code that gives 50 to fighterkills, 15 to groundunits etc. and why under what conditions. That's what i realy want to find to create that new function to be loaded and activate it with a simple DO SCRIPT. It kind of has me wondering though why 'score more' and 'score less' and the apply score to coalition is available and a function to apply points to a player isn't.

I've seen it shift in a mission only once in 2 years. Why it happened, no idea, but it was after aprox 2 into the mission with alot of traffic on the airfield.

The unit in question controlled by a player in my case is the same as the comm name, UZI 1-1. I always set the groupname and unitname to it's radioname reference to make the connection in peoples brains. It could as well be 'Grimes'. Does the ID number still apply when i use my own customized names for a group? When i create a very simple mission with only the missiongoal to apply 100 points to the blue coalition the code is very simple. ["goals"] = { [1] = { ["rules"] = { [1] = { ["flag"] = 1, ["coalitionlist"] = "", ["predicate"] = "c_flag_is_true", ["zone"] = "", }, -- end of [1] }, -- end of ["rules"] ["side"] = "BLUE", ["score"] = 100, ["predicate"] = "score", ["comment"] = "", }, -- end of [1] }, -- end of ["goals"] This is with all the extra triggering involved and just the ["score"] with value and to who it will be applied. So my grey mass simply cuts off all the rest and replace ["side"] with a group or unitname. Maybe i'm wrong and the do file scripting is more working on the side of standard server functions, but i think it must be possible. It could also be very well hidden for various reasons, but why would it be when everything else is coded and working in the same way.

TM Warthog and USB power after shutdown
BRooDJeRo replied to blksolo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Alot of modern bios's have options for the USB ports internal + external to power down after shutdown. Will it damage your equipment? Perhaps it cut slightly on your HOTAS lifetime. Who knows. Still oxygen and moist seems to be the main cause of degradation of electronics i'd say. The same way as it does to metals and such. -
I'm looking for the file within DCS that handles the scoring. There is 'mission goal' that applies a certain score to a coalition, but attempts of using some of its code to apply a score to a group for a 'do script' seems to fail in the most brilliant ways. :D I'm trying to create some additional missionlogic that gives a player score for using the airfields the correct way in multiplayer missions instead of quick taxiway take-offs. I've got the feeling that this is very simple to add a score to a group in a 'dofile' script, because the standard logic behind it already exists. Sofar i've created a bunch of different things, however lack the knowledge in LUA code to create the right ' and " and [ or } in the right places or i'm totaly on the wrong track. Who knows... Currently i'm stuck with variations of this: { [groupName] = UZI 1-1, [score] = 100, } Thx in advance.

Servman 3 Non-Official 1.0 for DCS 1.2.7.23803 A multi-player server administrator with an ingame command-line settings and user interface as well as text-based basic settings capability's. (Based on Servman 3.0.1 RC1 by Panzertard) Features: - Mission voting - Message of the day - Server rules section - Automatic mission restart - Automatic mission rotate - Automatic server pause - PING guard - Automatic kick and ban system - Sub administrator and squad login system - Chat and trouble shoot logging to text file Installation: - Copy and paste the contents of the DCS World folder in this package into your DCS World gamefolder. - Overwrite the main.lua file when prompted. The original main.lua file is renamed and included in this package. - Change default settings in DCS World/Scripts/Addons/ServMan3/serverconfig.lua Need to know: - Either 'restart_miz_after' or 'rotate_miz_after' needs to be enabled. Both turned off results in internal Servman error. The code seems to have an exclusion rule for when both options are active, but not for when both are turned off. The error has no effect on the running server. Just Servman will not be functional. - When the function 'squad_login_enable' is enabled and a registered 'local subadmins' is also a member of a registered squad, the sub-administrator must login as squad member first before as sub-administrator to obtain administrator rights as a squad member. NOTE: Use a program called Notepad++ to successfully modify .lua files. (http://notepad-plus-plus.org) Basic Commands: /info - Server information /help - Servman ingame help information /conf save [filename] - Save Servman settings to a configuration file /conf load [filename] - Load a previously saved configuration file /reinit - Hot-restart of Servman after modified settings of other files for instance /restart - Restart Server Turn Servman off: - Change to the original main.lua file by renaming in the DCS World/Scripts/net folder. or - Rename the 'Addons' folder. More commands and manuals of Servman can be found on the official Servman 3.0.1 RC1 documentation pages. (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=73625) Enjoy! Current uploaded releases: (located on the Eagle Dynamics™ forums server) Servman 3 - NO 1.0 - DCS 1.2.6.18651.rar Servman 3 - NO 1.0 - DCS 1.2.6.18933.rar Servman 3 - NO 1.0 - DCS 1.2.6.19532.rar Servman 3 - NO 1.0 - DCS 1.2.6.20768.rar Servman 3 - NO 1.0 - DCS 1.2.7.23097.rar Servman 3 - NO 1.0 - DCS 1.2.7.23803.rar

DCS is designed for 64 bit systems, under the right circumstances for 32 bit this ( http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/faq/Win32 ) is possible. When this doesn't work for u then i guess it's time to evolve. If this has anything to do with your issue, i don't know. Starting with the 'repair' function is a good start. If that doesn't work redownload and install all needed files. Including DirectX. But the platform you have to make DCS run isn't the most ideal one. You can find more information and answers in the bugs and problems section of this forum instead of the main lobby.
