Take note that not the amount of CPU cores and RAM is very important, but the speed it is running on. Look at the speed of a single CPU core, DDR2 at least 2Gb 800Mhz, DDR3 at least 4Gb 1600Mhz, set GFX accordingly. The CPU is a different story. I'm running a AMD X6 Phenom II 3400Mhz, but it only uses for about 2 of those cores in DCS. It seems i can let the cores run at 4000Mhz without problems and get more than enough performance so DCS stays running without hickups during explosions. On stockspeed it would hick slightly, not much, it won't ruin gameplay. Perhaps something similar is possible for u too when you can let go of stock coolers and invest just a small budget in better CPU-cooling and case-cooling for a 10-15% stable CPU boost that won't harm your hardware.

Guess there's always quicker and slower developers. The Huey dev seems one of the the quicker ones already being an official part of DCS with more vehicles in the works. There's a chance you might see more of this in one of the next 2 updates of DCS. This should wake up the slower devs a little bit more that the game is on.

Isn't the real problem behind this because Apple doesn't want intercompatibility with hardware and engines originaly designed for Win OS's to run on a Mac? The reason you can't play DCS on your Mac is due to Apple's policy and their model in how they want to pop the bucks out of yor pocket. You only don't realise it yet. If i would buy a 1500-2000 euro screen for my PC it would look just as nice as 'for-apple-only-designed' programs on a Mac.

Please let them ED dudes create what's in the agenda currently. :D (Hint: Huey)

Radio Comms: Can't use F7-key (Awacs, wingman)

I've turned off everything but F12 in TrIr. TR is only used in cockpitview only for me anyways. -
It's possible that because of overlapping of the same typical serverfunction within SLMod and Servman might cause trouble yes. In the era that servman could be mixed in with SLMod, SL didn't have several serverfunctionality. That's why Servman was a part of it. Most functions do exist now in SL so it makes less sense to mix in Servman. When you have 2 people trying to do the same thing at the same time and space they bump into eachother too. The further SL evolves, the less compatibility there will be. When you turn off all the functions that are double, it will will most likely function as intented. When you don't have any knowledge on the coding that took place i'd advice to make a choice between SL or Serv which you will suit best. Potentialy both softwares do the same thing apart from extra missionfunctionality in SLMod.

At the same page where you must select a mission to host, do you connect to LAN or Internet? Ah..internet option.... its there... Does port 10308 in your router correspond to the right IP in the intranet?

Settings folder: C:\Users\[Winusername]\Saved Games\DCS\Logs Is your Windows running as administrator? Have you concidered turning off your AV and check firewall. Dont forget about the 2010 C++ installation that could be farting secretly in the corner. When DCS isnt automaticaly generating a settingsfolder when you set something in the single player, itś most likely being blocked by something else on your machine. You can find the needed C++ in C:\DCS World\distr\......

F/A-18Cs don't Late Activate, v123.9871
BRooDJeRo replied to Wrecking Crew's topic in Mission Editor Issues
So itś safe to conclude thereś not a bug/issue with the missioneditor, but something that went wrong in missiontriggering, most likely did it yourself, perhaps without knowing and need someone else to fix someone elses mission? I think you need to be in the missioncreatorscorner of this board. -
Mission Briefing Start Date, v1.2.3.9871
BRooDJeRo replied to Wrecking Crew's topic in Mission Editor Issues
Correct, vehicle/aircraft starttimes cannot be earlier than the actual mission starttime, itś always on a later time. Doesnt that make kind of sense too? Also, when you do change it, does it switch from red to normal state colors? That should already be the answer to your latest question given by the ME. Trying to fix/mod to specs of extensive missionfiles made by other people when you don have the full knowledge of the mission yourself must be a very hard thing to do too. Unless theres almost nothing to fix. -
It must be very comfortable for the groundcrew roling in and attaching fresh GBU's 1 meter from a running turbofan sucking tons of air in even at idle.

F/A-18Cs don't Late Activate, v123.9871
BRooDJeRo replied to Wrecking Crew's topic in Mission Editor Issues
Is it the same mission with the dating going red etc.? Create a quickmissionfile with 1 FA18C and how you want to trigger it and attach it here when itś the 'evil-mission-that-cannot-be-shared-or-else-death-penalty/ban-for-life' one. -
Engine off, Canopy open, LCtrl + ' Thatś the magic formula ruling out you have no static cats running on your keyboard pretending theyŕe your best friend, but does the same trick at the neighbours place...

Cool you got it to work and yes, with a community driven 1st line helpdesk for common problems, you need a slight form of imagination indeed sometimes.

Full size "windowed" game is actually a "full screen" window...

Ask EMC, most likely it's the same thing that TARS and Tacview where dealing with. It's all over the board, it shouldn't be too hard to find. -
That many fueltrucks being shot at? Or is it just one getting continued fired upon?

A turned off antivirus can still keep you from installing etc. when something is wrong with this. I saw in another topic that your firewall is mostly red and now you say your antivirus is off most of the time. You live in a house without doors. The firewall is a must! A turned off antivirus and firewall are the ingredients for alot of problems. Java can be a vulnerability in itself. So when this is acting weird plus no firewall and antivirus can be trouble indeed. It is possible you're infected causing you this trouble. When you're confident your PC is a mess most likely and when you don't realy know what you're doing, you're most likely better off calling a specialist where you live to take a closer look. The problems you have are most likely not related to the DCS product, so it's all pure love when more help is given. However, some rudimentary knowledge of managing a PC is needed to proceed. When the registery is damaged, downloads get damaged, maybe AV software damaged and maybe a security breach in your wireless network belongs to the posibilty's. But all this is still a very wild guess while is site many 1000's of km from your PC. When i'm right no system restore or 3rd party fixing programs will fix your problem. Alot of 3rd party fixing programs are malware by themselves even bombarding you with commercials when you don't want it etc.

Cant install DCS World Get this weird error post
BRooDJeRo replied to Toto's topic in Installation Problems
Malware scanner = antivirus software = recommended to turn off for installing games. We don't know what's on your machine installed either Crazyowl, you're the one sitting in front of it that needs to tell us to direct u. When the windows firewall shows red it's turned off yes, when it's green it's on. When your PC has a solid installation it most likely doesn't need 3rd party software to fix things, unless it is the virus/malwarescanner picking up malware and virussus, but i can't realy say. I'm not the one sitting behind your PC. You're the one that has his eyes on the software with brandnames that could give us clues on what's going on. Microsoft essentials is indeed antivirus, turn this off for the moment. The firewall can be turned on, when DCS hasn't got an entry, the firewall will prompt you with a pop-up when you run DCS. In the other case, it will do nothing and leave you alone. When AV is off, press DCS update. When DCS is installed and it still won't run, press DCS repair. Keep breathing Skate...in....out....in....out :D -
Looks like the customs are jelous that DCS players have moar fancy equipment than the real deal. Why do the customs keep it that long to release it? It's consumer electronics for homebrew developers. Kind of interesting isn't it? Or are they scared that homebrew simulators might trigger and train a new groupof terrorists? I'm sure the next thing will be something totaly different than something involving airplanes. The plain old bomb on secret civilian location still seems to be the most easy way to do something instead of a mass hyjack of A10's from a remote location in the Nevada desert by some too stoned and derailed dutch sim enthausiasts. Moar fear!! Bring it on!! Fear the Europeans, we're all evil and potential terrorists....... US customs need moar education... Are they still under homeland security control like FEMA without supervisors supervising the supervisors?
