  3. I've been doing just that since we talked about it on TS. I haven't lost energy against the MiG since. Just have to be patient. Good advise.

  7. Also just wanted to share this. I remember reading something a couple of days ago from the book 'Boyd; The Fighter Pilot Who Changed The Art of War' (highly recommended!!). At the end of Chapter 17 the author writes on Boyd pondering on how the heck the Sabre had a 10-1 kill ratio over the MiG. On his EM Charts which he developed the MiG had the advantage in almost all aspects. What he decided was that the because the Sabre had better vision, and was easier to fly it gave the Sabre pilots a big advantage. The Sabre had full hydraulic controls were the MiG did not. A Sabre pilot could pull more manuvers quicker and with less stress making it a quicker fighter. In our sim I don't think it's modeled so the MiG will have an advantage.
  8. In my testing with the 39th guys we found you cannot turn with the MiG 15, you have to use your speed advantage. When you start to get behind in a turn, run like hell and reengage later when the MiG does not have the advantage anymore. Also, unless you have an energy advantage do not climb with the MiG. Basically turning and burning with the MiG will get you killed.
  9. Hi Laurius, Thanks, although I downloaded his Data mod lua file I didn't look at his example to hard since I was studying from a different post on how to edit that file. Whatever I tried didn't work. Well, I just saw my mistake after reading that post again and viola I can edit that file and it works just fine. :) Still wish I new why my other buttons work in the default file but not that rocket switch. Thanks for your help!
  10. I've tried a number of things to get my on/off toggle switch to act like a two way switch for the 'Rocket Jettison Switch" in F86F. I was able to change a few other with no problems but this key is giving me fits. After reading a ton of stuff on these forums yesterday and trying to edit the Save games diff file too, I was hoping someone may have a solution or idea I could use. This is the command from the default Lua file I'm trying to change: Here is one thing I've tried: Whenever I've edited this button in the default Lua all my button commands disappear. I do have a number of other buttons added/changed with no problems. Any ideas?
  11. I've been using this curve for awhile now and I really didn't like the brakes only holding till about 87%. So I messed with the Y saturation and moved it to 50 instead of 32. Viola, the brakes hold solid at 100% and they still work great in all other aspects.
  12. Yea that compass is a pain. Wish it wasn't there. I was hoping someone would mod it but I guess that's not to easy.
  13. Multiplayer Tracks are saved in your multiplayer folder in the tracks folder in your saved games folder. At least mine are. They are saved automatically.

  15. Hi, I have a strange problem. I wonder if anyone else has this issue or has heard of it. Here is what happens: After starting up my computer each day, the first time I run DCS and Track IR and try to start a mission the game and Track IR will freeze. I have to CTL+ALT+DEL to stop both programs. After that it never happens again until the next day when I start up my computer. Also, if I just start DCS and then close it, I will not have that problem for the rest of the day. I'm also getting frequent CTDs during multi-player sessions. I uninstalled Track IR and reinstalled it today and still had the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  16. http://39thvfs.enjin.com/ Hi Guys, The server isn't always up, we fly mostly co-op but we do some PvP at times if we have enough MiG15 drivers. We have a few missions we usually fly, 'Fighter Sweep', Bomber Escort', 'Convoy intercept', and on and on. You can check the web site for times the server will be up or just show up usually between 5 and 9 EST. You can download what you'll need the mod pack is JSME ready so it's easy to use and disable when you don't want to use it. Just check in and say hi, everybody is pretty cool and loose.   20. Einherjer, Great mod, just did some testing with the new rockets: In continuous fire mode they will only fire one rocket from each pod, then you have to mash the fire button again. However it seems that once there are only a couple of rockets in each pod left they will continuous fire. Once the rocket pods are empty you cannot dump them. When they are full you can. Great mod, thanks!

  24. Saw this happen today. While watching the TacView of our online sortie from tonight I noticed that I was hit a couple of times, but didn't remember getting hit or ever being in a position to get hit. What happened was that I shot at a MiG at close range and the bullets bounced off the MiG and hit me. Wow!!
