Hello guys, I've been working on a campaign for the Mig-15 for a while now. I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me out thus far with beta testing. The campaign is called "The Museum Relic" and takes place in a fictional world where this Mig-15 was rebuilt for a museum display, but then brought back out to help in combat. The campaign is complete, with 22 missions The next, and one of the last, hurdles of this campaign building process is the Voice Acting. If there is anyone interested in being a character in this campaign, please let me know. I have slots open for various controllers, pilots, ground soldiers, and resistance fighters. If you're interested in giving this a shot for me, please let me know! - Apache600 ********** This reply is pulled from the first post of this thread *********

Landing: To airbrake or to not to airbrake?
Apache600 replied to ekg's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
oh, during the landing phase you mean. Having the proper flaps, airspeed, and glidepath should negate the need of the airbrake. -
It's the reason I've put all my attention on the Mig-15 instead of this aircraft. Love that little Mig though.

Landing: To airbrake or to not to airbrake?
Apache600 replied to ekg's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I would say yes, keep doing it. In real life, say on an airliner, the "brakes" that are deployed after landings are actually "spoilers" (the speed brakes also deploy, on the inner most side of the wing closest to the fuselage, but are 1/3 of the surface area compared to the spoilers). Their purpose is to destroy the lift created on the wing, and help transfer the weight of the aircraft onto its wheels. Thus making the wheel braking far more effective. The air brakes on fighters are a little different, they don't have "spoilers" but they still acts in much the same way after landing. They create a huge amount of drag, which helps to overcome what lift may have still been on the wing, and transfers the weight to the wheels. After landing, you can also try and keep the nose up in the air (make sure the main wheels are firmly planted on the ground first) This will act as aerodynamic braking as well. -
As the title says. There's no option to change the 3 presets for the Mig-15's NDB

agreed! and 512x512 is hard to work with for the pictures

Sure, the more the merrier. A new update should be ready soon, making big improvements to the old set of missions

Calculate Angle / Distances Between locations
Apache600 replied to Slazi's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I'm running into issues with this in Mission's i'm building. I'm noticing 15 degrees off for my Mig-15 on F10 HDG and Mag Compass. I was hoping it was Magnetic Variance that I wasn't accounting for, but from the looks of the previous posts, there's more to it. Anyone find out the definitive number yet? As large as the map is, Magnetic Variance shouldn't change more than 1 or 2 degrees from one side to the other (land portion of the map that is) -
Slicks and Grunts, how to embark, disembark?
Apache600 replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in Mission Editor
hmmm.... my game crashes once it starts. Tried both the Mi-8 and the Huey. must be doing something wrong still -
bird strike won't work because you can't set it to come on or off in the middle of a mission. it's either Always on or Always off. However, the "explode unit" PLUS "fuel boost pump" failure does the trick!. volume 100 turns the aircraft to 10,000 pieces though :P explode volume 3 seems to fit the bill. seems to do enough damage, but still give you control surface movement too Thanks for the suggestions guys.

HAhahaha, touche

Hello, It doesn't seem that there is any way to fail the Mig's engine with the selection of failures in the Mission Editor. It was suggested to me that I should look at failing the fuel boost pump, but all that did was drop the maximum allowable rpm to 9,000 or so. Still plenty enough to cruise along merrily. Any chance of just making a simple "Engine fail" checkbox? Like the thing threw a fan blade? Heck, a checkbox for "engine fire" would be awesome too! - Apache600

I've got an M818 sitting next to some ground troops ... but they still dry up their ammo and quit firing. Is there a long reload time?

Radio Transmission / sound file when A.I. launches missile
Apache600 replied to Apache600's topic in Mission Editor
Well baltic dragon. I tried your suggestion and it seemed to work pretty well for the most part. A couple glitches came up here and there, but nothing major. Dark Fire, this would be other flights. I found a solution ... simply having them on the same comm frequency. They make the normal A.I. reports. However, i do a AI PUSH trigger to Silence them after the units they're shooting at are destroyed. Just so then I don't have to hear them make waypoint/position call outs. -
Radio Transmission / sound file when A.I. launches missile
Apache600 replied to Apache600's topic in Mission Editor
I was hoping to not have to do any .Lau stuff. That's a bit beyond me :/ -
Hey Guys, Curious to know if anyone knows how I could make it so that an A.I. aircraft could call out when they launch a missile. I know there's the "bomb in zone" condition ... but that doesn't cover this issue. I have an SU-25T that launches a SEAD Kh-25mpu at a a SAM, and just want the SU-25T to say "missile away" when he launches, or something like that. ... But I can't figure out how to do it aside from the aircraft crossing a trigger point. Any clues gentlemen? - Apache600

What are the ammo trucks anyway? HMMWV Armament? -
Editorquestion - AI can´t kill AI
Apache600 replied to dissignator's topic in User Created Missions General
Careful though, if you have the units constantly firing, they will run out of ammo. ... then no tracers to help you find where they are -
Hey guys, Anyone know of a limitation of how many "stages" you can have in the campaign builder? I've been working on a campaign for a while, and I CAN NOT get it to progress past the 6th stage. It's really irritating because there are enough mission points to warrant it to progress to stage 7, it just won't do it though. I have each stage consisting of one mission (so the story of the campaign can be properly told). I have a total of 12 missions so far. Half of my campaign isn't even accessible with the normal route of stage sequencing because of this. This is really putting a bind on me releasing this campaign :( Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. - Apache600

Thank you gentlemen, P.M.'s have been sent. @mwd2, negative on any mods. I want this to be as easy of an install as possible for people.

MIG-15bis Left and Right Console Switches Covered Up.
Apache600 replied to chuckgrimes's topic in DCS: MiG-15bis
I use the "Left Windows Key" + "NUMPAD number" Try all 9. Each one gives you a different view. Really good for spotting those hidden and tucked away switches -
Isn't that normally controlled by the "twist" on the throttle quadrant? If there's a duplicate, it'll usually tell you when you bind the keys. That is a really weird issue you're having. Do you happen to use a "Profiler" software for your joystick? if so, there could be an issue with that. I never download or install software that comes with a joystick. I always set up my stuff in the game
