  1. OV-10 Bronco would be awesome. BUT a few things would need to happen first. Mainly unimproved runways or grass fields. So you can deploy troops out of the back and also to use it's rugged design for some very interesting mission building (I.E. spawn the aircraft on a grass field, or make a "FARP like grass field" for the fixed wing guys) F-20 Tigershark will most likely never happen :( 3 built, 2 were lost in accidents, and the remaining one is hanging in a museum. Not enough information available to put together an accurate model.
  2. So it's only really good for giving people on the ground cancer? :smilewink: Haha, that'll still be really cool. Now we need something to put the STOL capability to use ... unimproved runways / fields would be great. Helicopters get FARP's, us fixed wing guys need something too!
  3. That, in and of itself, is a game changer. ...no pun intended. :) Any idea of how this will work with designating targets or deploying weapons in conjunction with the radar? I get that the SU-25T and KA-50 have the Shkval, and the A-10C has whatever insane camera thingy under its wing, but that's all visual designation.
  4. Forgive me for being late to this party, but I thought I remembered reading something about the Viggen having A-G radar capability. Sorry if this was discussed somewhere in the previous 185 pages of this thread :book:
  5. Another Collage update (because it's easier than doing a series of pictures) Top Left: Here I am placing all the Diodes in the break out bread boards. Middle Left: With all the Diodes placed and soldered, not it's time to test all the connections and make sure the Diodes do their job correctly (I actually found one that wasn't working ... out of 432 diodes) Bottom Left: Here I am mating all of the graphical cutouts with their respective boards. Top Right: After all the graphics and panels are joined, not it's time to cut out each button and screw hole. Middle Right: And now it's time to place every button and switch in their spots on the boards. Bottom Right: Reconstruction of the base of the control panel, and (not seen in picture) cut out some additional holes on the individual panels so all the wiring can flow properly. - Apache600
  6. Sorry guys, I can't really say much, other than "soon". In all honesty, I really don't know. That decision is up to ED. As you can tell from when I first posted this announcement, it's been a little more than a month. I turned this campaign over to them when they already had a lot on their plate, and I'm happy that they were able to fit me into their busy schedules. I have been informed that this project is coming close to release though. The official trailer to the campaign will go public with the release. And I've also got an "Old School Instrument and Navigation Tutorial" (Youtube video) that I will be releasing at that time as well. Also, The drop box set up and ready to go, containing larger images of all the mission briefings and flt. plan pages. And I even have a checklist for the Mig-15 done (that checklist is currently living in the Mig-15 subfolder in these forums) I'll make an F-86 checklist as soon as Belsimtek finishes their manual for the aircraft.
  7. It depends on your orientation to the station, and what radial you have selected on your NAV. FROM = the radial you are on. Radials off of a VOR are always FROM. To get a TO - FROM indication, you should be flying away from the VOR, and if the VSI is centered (and matches your heading) it should read FROM. Flying TO should pick up the outbound reciprocal radial. If i am heading 090, and my NAV is set for 090, and the station is in front of me. It should read TO. When I pass over the station and keep flying 090, it'll switch to FROM. In that same scenario, if i want it to read FROM while i'm flying towards the station on a 090 heading, I should have my NAV set at 270 (you'll get reverse sensing though on your needle) If that's as clear as mud, just google it :)
  8. I've noticed that with "Follow" an F-15C can't catch up to aircraft doing 400+ knots. Even when it's running afterburner. I think it depends on the aircraft. I've had to switch out F-15C's for Tornado's because of that issue in some of my missions.
  9. I don't know what to say :/ a DCS repair maybe? Or if you want to record a start procedure you're doing and post it to youtube and link it here, then we can take a look at it.
  10. Quick Collage update! Top Left, I'm shaping the diodes to fit the bread board correctly. I have to shape 6x6x12 of these damn things. 432! and then each one requires 2 solder points to the bread board. These are the breakout boards so that I can more easily utilize the matrix of the Leo Bodnar boards. The diodes are needed so that if you press two buttons at once, a 3rd button won't "ghost" and appear pressed without you wanting that done. Top Right. Here I finished cutting all the individual bread boards so that I can fit half of one Leo Bodnar functions on it. These cuts are made along the metal strips so that I won't have unwanted electrical signals crossing over to a series of buttons where it shouldn't be. Center. All of the graphical overlays have been printed and cut. Bottom Left. Each board has been completely disassembled and labeled. Off to paint! Bottom Right. The painting has begun. Gotta go get some more paint cause I just ran up. Had rain all last week so I didn't paint then. We have a couple of days of sunshine in the forecast (hell ... it's California, we probably won't be seeing rain again until November) - Apache600
  11. unfortunately I don't believe there's a way to do it for different aircraft within the same flight :( You might have to make a "make-shift flight" by just having your wingman, as a different flight of course, just fly close in formation with you. That's what I had to do in my campaign.
  12. Well ... the only thing that I can think of is making specific "add radio item" calls. And have that set to a AI Push Task or something (and have the task set to attack unit or whatever) That would defiantly make a lot of busy work for you to set up the triggers in Mission Editor. There's just no way that I can think of to force the custom radio option. If the player decide to do the in game comm, then the mission wouldn't sequence correctly
  13. So you have most of the FC3 aircraft working now? with the SU-25T, when you are in the starting process, where does the idle power end up at? It take a good while to get up to that point. It takes about 35 seconds for the engine to start, and should stabilize at about 35% RPM. In that time, make sure you're not touching the throttle at all and keep it in idle. You should never be seeing 12-13% on a started and running engine.
  14. odd. I'm sure you've done this, but check that your throttle is idle. Also, check your key bindings (axis in particular) to make sure that there is no other controller or axis (other than what you want as your throttle) is bound that could keep the throttle from going idle
  15. Not yet. I believe it's on the list of features to add though. Unless you want two separate groups, and have the Apache group "follow" you, that's about all you can do.
  16. Hello, Welcome, and Congrats on the new system :) I run windows 10 and have zero issues with it. Much better than the god awful 8.1 that was preceded on this computer.
  17. awesome work Darkfire! thanks for sharing. I've been playing through the DLC campaign, and some of the missions start you off with 1/2 fuel, you know of any fuel flow meter in the 27? Also, I've been climbing to different altitudes to try and find best speed without touching Afterburners (or reheats) I found that around 6,000m is pretty favorable for that
  18. That sir, is impressive! Thanks for the text tutorial along with the video. One question, when "bomb release" what indication are you getting? sound?
  19. That would be my guess (synchronize HOTAS is on). And that the fuel shut of valve might be in the wrong position.
  20. Hello all, It's been a while since I've posted anything on the control panels I make. I've been rather side-tracked with my " The Museum Relic" campaign. Now that the campaign is done, and going through the integration process with ED, it's back to panel building! Anyway, thought I'd quick show this off. (Was initially reluctant to after seeing the recent work by some of the members here. Work that Tacno has been doing with the A-10C Holy crap that's amazing!!!! check it out if you haven't already! My approach at these panels is a bit different. I am trying to go for simplicity, and the A-10C just doesn't allow that :P With this, all you have to do is plug in the 3 USB hook ups, fire up Xpadder, and double click DCS. And then there's simulatoregp .... utterly amazed by what you've got there with the KA-50) Here's the first picture of the batch. Nothing to outstanding, but it does take a LOT of work to even get to this point. The most difficult cuts here is the one long slanted piece that runs the width of the board. That piece is a pain because of the geometry of it, and the 3 different contact points it makes with with frame of the panel: After that, I removed all the panels that will have buttons and switches on them. Here I am figuring out where I want to put the new buttons as well as create the grid on all the boards so I can do the initial drill point. I don't go ahead and cut the hole that fits the diameter of the switch right away, that can be messy, chip the wood, and it's hard to line up. Instead I do a really small 1 mm or so drill point for each button. With the button holes all drilled out, it's time to place the buttons. Drilling out each button usually requires 3 separate drilling applications (is that even a term?) The 1st is mentioned above as a pre-drill hole placement. Then I do a larger drill to the back of the board that hollows out the place for the button or switch. This is done because some of the buttons are two thin and you wont get any of the screw threads to poke out the other side. Then finally I'll drill the exact fitted size on the front of the board that is the diameter of the button. Here we have the two Batch 2 panels sitting alongside my prototype. As you can see .... I ran out of buttons. More are on order. Getting to this point was the "easy" part. Now comes the wiring. It may be a while before I update this with any progress, because the wiring is slow going and boring. ...and also I have to order new circuit boards since I used the last of them up on the prototype and forgot to re-order them. If you're interested in seeing the original post for the prototype control panel, check it out here! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=136509 And here's a link to the youtube video I made showing off the control panel with the SU-25T in action: And since I'm in the habit of throwing links on the thread here, here's the link to my campaign. It should be available in the DCS stores soon. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164322 (And yes, I already have thoughts of building panels for the Mig-15 and F-86. Nothing off the drawing boards yet though) - Apache600
  21. I just ordered a little tube of Nyogel 760g .... i might have made a bad choice here. Now i'm thinking it isn't the right product. Update: The stuff works GREAT! At first, i was disappointed with it, but I must not have put enough on. I re-applied a second amount, and was a little more liberal with it, and now it works like a champ.
  22. Unfortunately, all your volume adjustment has to be done outside of DCS. There is no way (that I know of ... because it would have made my mission building a whole lot easier) to change that volume inside the Mission Editor. If you have Audacity, or something similar, open your desired sound file in that. Adjust the volume to a louder setting. Save the file with "Louder" (or something) behind it so you keep the original. And try plugging that into your mission. It'll be trial and error for a bit until you can find something you like.
  23. Thanks baltic_dragon! Glad to have you as a voice in a few of the missions :) And thank you everyone for your kind words. I'm really looking forward to all of your feedback when this hits the market. On the list of things to do is a Navigation tutorial video for those who need help with the NDB (there's a mission where you'll be flying an NDB approach). There's some good youtube videos already out there for help on this topic, but nothing that I've seen that shows an NDB apporach. And also a walk-thru for missions that I suspect may be a bit on the difficult side.
  24. Correct, it's not available yet. I gave Bunyap a single mission from both the F-86 and MiG-15 version of the campaign so he could get some screen shots or video footage for one of his weekly updates. I didn't expect him to do a full on review based solely on the missions I gave him. I'm glad he is though, it show's off the campaign better than I could. He really is good at making those videos!
  25. Radio volume, no not that I know of. Only volume that I can think of that you can change is the RWR beeping volume
