  1. This is a really nice tutorial:
  2. Here´s mine. System specs in the sig. Gives me way more frames than I need.
  3. It´s an awesome show, thankfully they have been running reruns of it at night over here in Germany lately, so I got my fix. :) Didn´t find it on BluRay either, but if you can settle for DVD, here is the official place to buy it: http://papernyfilms.com/store#ecwid:category=0&mode=product&product=363167
  5. Oh okay, so basically it´s an LOD problem?
  6. Yes, it is a known bug, and AFAIK it is being worked on.
  7. That would actually make the cursor slew faster. If you want it to be slower, the number needs to go up.

Not all wings flex, just modern ones (starting at around WW2). As for the A-10, I´m aware that its wings flex, it´s just that the flex is so small that I don´t think most people would even notice if it were modelled. If it had the wings of the 787 however... ;)
  9. Ist das nicht verboten? :D
  10. Depends... the entire system set me back € 1800, the CPU itself was a little over € 300. I got the parts from here (don´t know if you speak german, the site can be switched to english as well though) and highly recommend that place. Very good prices and top-notch service. For an additional 20 bucks they even assemble your system in case you don´t feel like putting it together yourself. If you´re shopping for some new parts you should definitely look there as well. They ship to the Netherlands as well for a very reasonable rate (€ 9.99 flat) and if you order before 1400 hrs you´ll have it the very next day. Well, in Germany anyway, Netherlands might maybe take an additional day or so.
  11. Thanks Falcon, got it now. As for my fps, of course they go down when the fecal matter hits the revolving air device, it´s not as if I can keep them there no matter what. ;) How I achieved that? Dunno... I assembled myself a new system (details in the sig) with just DCS in mind, and it runs the sim really sweet even with all the settings maxed.
  12. As opposed to...? If I leave it unchecked, will I have only 20 fps (just pulled a random number out of my a...) on my MCFD? I tried both options and can´t tell a difference at all, but then again my regular fps are quite regularly in the three-digit range, so is this something I just shouldn´t bother with? :dunno:
  13. What does this "every frame" mean anyway?

Does the wing of the A-10 even flex all that much? It looks quite stubby and beefy to me.
  15. Umm, Kuky? It is possible with 1.2.0.
  16. It is. A friend of mine downloaded nothing but DCS World and was able to fly online with me using the SU-25T.
  17. If you need to go that far then don´t forget to dump your chaff and flares as well. Gives you another 10 kg or so. ;)
  18. 2400 bucks? Holy cow.... :shocking: That´s more than I paid for my entire system...
  19. I have never heard of that video card, the rest of your system should be fine though. Check out my system specs (behind the spoiler in my sig), it is somewhat similar to yours and I run absolutely everything at max (except for the engines´s heat blur, which I personally don´t like) and pretty much never go below 40 frames even with a lot of stuff going on around me. Under normal conditions 100+ frames is quite normal, so your system should be running the sim just fine as well.
  20. Yes, that´s true. This is modeled in the sim as well.
  21. Isn´t it actually vice-versa? AFAIK the larger the number, the slower the slew.
  22. I was afraid you´d say that... ;) Unfortunately I didn´t save the track, sorry.
  23. I can´t tell for sure, but since it was right next to the Black Sea, I can only assume the terrain´s altitude was a couple of feet at best.
  24. Hi everyone, today I flew a mission where I was to take out an enemy armored column protected by a couple of SA-15´s riding along. Since the SA-15 can reach up to approximately 20k ft (according to various websites) I figured I´d play it safe, go up to 25k ft and just plink the tanks from up there with LGBs. When I approached the area I was even a little over 27k ft high, so I wasn´t worried about the SA-15 at all and ignored the beeping RWR while setting up my attack run. Just as I was about to release the first bomb, I was all of a sudden hit by something. While I was still trying to figure out what hit me, something else hit me and I blew up midair. When I looked at the debriefing, it told me I was hit by two SA-15. How is this possible? I was at 27k ft and should have been untouchable for them. Is there something I am missing? I looked up the performance of the SA-15, and every single website said it can only reach up to about 6000m/20k ft, so I assume that figure is correct. What gives?
  25. Thanks for the nice welcome, everyone! Ah okay, if my memory serves me right I was able to do this in Falcon 4, so I figured it´s something that can be done in every a/c while in flight. Since I´m a sucker for realism I won´t touch it then while I am in the air. No, not a hero. I just do what I love doing, that´s all. Already did... ;) Best investment ever, and makes flying the Hog so much easier. Sorry, wrong part of the town, my station covers the Buchholz / Misburg / Kirchrode neighborhoods. However, if your Warthog is in danger I will make my way over there of course. Can´t let anything happen to that precious litte thing now, can we? :D Awesome! That´s exactly what I was asking for! How did you do it?
