  1. I´d like to register an A-10C slot please. :)
  2. Ups... mea culpa.
Lade dir hier DCS World runter: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?ProductId=21&end_pos=137&scr=product&lang=en 2. Lade dir hier das Black-Shark-Modul runter: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=12&end_pos=136&lang=en 3. Installiere DCS World 4.
  5. I´d love to go... :cry_2: Guess I could always make my credit card cry and get on the next flight. Hey, could you pick me up at the airport? :D
  6. 1. When you start up the game, you see a number of menu points at the right hand side. 2. One of them is labelled "Options". Click it. 3. You now have several tabs, one of them reads "System". Click it if you´re not on it already (as it should be by default) 4. On the left hand side you see a bunch of drop-down boxes. The second one from the top is called "Scenes". 5. Click it and select "Low". 6. Click "OK" at the very bottom. 7. Enjoy.
  7. Looks as if the female Mi-8 pilot doesn´t wear any kind of seatbelt?!? Btw, what´s the reason for asian pilots to always wear these white cotton gloves when flying? Doesn´t matter whether it´s China, Japan, Korea, civil aviation, military aviation, fixed wing, rotary wing... they all were these gloves. What do they know the rest of the world doesn´t?
  8. Yep, got the pm. Awesome, thanks!
  9. Huh? Look at the panel right in front of you when you sit in the cockpit. Move over to the AHCP (Armament HUD Control Panel) in the lower left corner. Find the switch labelled "HUD MODE" and move it from "DAY" to "NIGHT". Voilá, color is changed. Page 116 in the manual.
  10. He is using TrackIR. Comes right after stick and throttle in terms of necessity for a flight sim. CMS switch forward.
  11. Hey Greg, would love to take part as well and applied to the group already, haven´t been accepted to it yet though. Is there anything else I need to do?
  12. Oh really? Gotta admit I don´t know because I never use ATC due to it being utterly crap. Even no ATC at all is more realistic than the thing in DCS World. However, even then you can quite clearly tell by the wind direction that 06 is not the best choice to make. Also the fact that there are a ton of skidmarks at 24 but absolutely none at 06 should tell the common pilot a thing or two. ;)
  13. Of course there is. You need to make sure which one you are testing though, the metric or the imperial "meh".
  14. Sure it is. You just need to lead the target manually.
  15. What happens when you try to click it directly on the panel?
  16. If your target moves fast enough, your bomb will fall short using that method. Hence the need to lead the target in order to drop the bomb. Shortly before the laser kicks in you can move the reticle onto the target using point track mode.
  17. Okay, here´s the deal: You are a real pilot, flying a real A-10C in a real, yet fictional conflict in the Georgia region. It is broad daylight, and your side has absolute air superiority. So you make your attack run on some target and get hit in the process. The damage is to one engine and one wing, also your landing gear is FUBAR. No fire, no other damage. You can stay aloft, but it´s not pretty. You decide you need to jettison whatever still hangs underneath your jet. No need to do it right away, because once again, you can somewhat stay aloft and there are no more threats around, but then again you will have to jettison it sooner or later anyway because your landing gear is messed up and you obviously don´t wanna attempt a belly landing with live ordnance under the wings. What do you do? Limp home to the base, drop the weapons in the near vicinity, hoping for some ground troops to be able to secure them before anyone else gets their hands on them? Find some (hopefully) empty place and drop them armed, so they will destroy themselves upon impact? Fly out to the sea, drop them into the ocean out of anyone´s reach and head back to base? Say "screw it all" and drop them right then and there, wherever you are, woods or city, consequences be damned? What would you do? What are the real-world procedures for a case like this? Are there even any, or is it absolutely down to the individual pilot´s discretion?
  18. You can CCRP them just fine with dumb bombs, all you need to do is lead the target. Not hard at all. Actually hitting the target however... The only way to bomb a moving target using CCRP is with Laser Guided Munitions. Aim ahead of the target, drop the bomb, move the reticle onto the target once the laser kicks in. Doesn´t work with dumb bombs or GPS guided ones though, unless you score a lucky hit.
  19. KosPilot, thanks for that mission, it´s beyond awesome! Those pesky BUKs give me such a hard time, yet I can´t stop going back up trying to shoot them before they shoot me. Best part is when you have finally dealt with all those units trying to bring you down and can turn your attention to those poor little airplanes on the ground, strafing them left and right, back and forth... :joystick: So yeah, just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your work, and my buddies and I love to fly that mission online. Cheers! P.S. Could I actually make one small suggestion? In future versions, could you please somehow make sure everyone understands that the active rwy at Nalchik in that mission is 24 instead of 06? Bothers me to no end to backtrack only to be rammed by someone who tries to takeoff from 06.
  20. The one thing I wish DCS MP came with is a checkbox that says "Display locked servers" so I can uncheck it. It´s quite a burden to log on these days only to see locked servers all over the place, forcing you to go and search for the three of four unlocked ones.
  22. Well, after two days of testing I can report that I still get the usual "Connection Interrupted". Can´t even remember the last time I actually landed after a mission in MP. :(
  23. I could post you a step by step since we use MGRS (or UTMREF, as we call it) in the firefighting business as well, but then again wikipedia explains it much, much better than I ever could: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_grid_reference_system Once you get your head around the concept it´s actually pretty easy to use.
  24. What always fascinated me was the development history of these weapons. Did you know that the first laser guided bomb was actually not laser guided, but pigeon guided? Worked the very same way though (keeping the target centered in the seeker by a pigeon picking at it), and with great success as well. Check it out:
