  1. I think shamandgg and Groove have a good point. I could understand the need for fatigue modelling in less detailed simulators. But it looks like the new DCS range will require a lot of effort and energy to play and would most likely result in natural fatigue. Modelling some sort of artificial fatigue would almost be like having 2 x fatigue! :P
  2. Thanks mate! Considering what people who have tried it have been saying, this beast is not going to be easy to master!
  3. I think there may be something wrong with that link, it just goes to a 'make new post' page.
  4. Looks like a personal IMAX!
  5. Wahey! I'm definitely going to be at the SimWare show on 2 November. I will take photos, vids (if I can) and share when I return. I will also give my impressions. Now, all I have to do is try to keep my hands off of all that CH goodness....
  6. Great, thanks for that. So it probably won't have any real effect for 12-18 months.
  7. I've never understood this either. I need the increased armament of the Su-27 or -33 :P
  8. Ah sorry, couldn't resist!
  9. I had a bit of spare time at work. Okay, maybe a lot of spare time:
  10. I seriously was beginning to lose the plot. Thanks SimFreak, wasn't expecting those screenshots. I should find out in the next couple of hours if I'm able to go to the show in Brussels. Any part of my body that I can cross, has been crossed....
  11. And it's been upgraded with motion blur and depth of field. A DX10 ostrich - that's why I shelled out big money for my 8800GTS!
  12. *gasp* screenshots of the A-10 and AH-64? omigod omigod omigod omigod....
  13. Thanks SimFreak! The DCS/CH Products booth looks great!
  14. I'd rather not have third parties make add ons to DCS. That's the case for Flight Simulator and there seems to be HUNDREDS of add ons by various parties. I can't believe that all would be of quality. I believe it's an extremely bad idea.
  15. But I would imagine a lot of the technology that has been used for BS would be usable for fixed wing modules. 6DOF, clickable pits, models... Remember, the key to good programming is re-usability!!!
  16. Things will become interesting when the Penryn is released, especially if the AMD quad chip is also released and is serious competition to the Penryn. The prices will come down nicely! :) I'm not sure DDR3 is worthwhile at the moment. DDR2 is becoming so cheap (Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 for £140. I paid £190 for TwinX PC2-6400 a year ago!) and it seems to be handling itself still. Plus, more graphics cards from nVidia and ATI in the next few months! Maybe all of this in time for Black Shark? :smilewink:
  17. Dang, I can't find the link now, but I recently read an article which says that contrary to what people have been saying, DX10.1 will work on existing DX10 cards. If I find the link I'll post it. I can't find the actual link I was thinking of, but if you search for "DX10.1 backwards compatible" it results in many pages suggesting that 10.1 is just a very minor update that will work with current DX10 cards
  18. I think EECH has just been accepted as the way to refer to the first game collectively, including both Comanche v Hokum and Apache v Havoc. There is talk of a patch coming for Enemy Engaged 2. It apparently won't fix all of the problems, but will address a lot of them. Let's see how it goes!
  19. Hrmmm....I'm tempted to go to the SimW one on the 2nd. If I get the Eurostar early in the morning and leave in the evening, it would cost £60 from London, which....is probably cheaper than it would cost to go to Bristol on the train! :P
  20. Aaaargh! I can't make it  Thanks for pointing these out though!
  21. Hoo-rah!
  22. I'd be happy with the F-16. A truly multi-role aircraft would be very nice indeed
  23. "Standby Ion control"
  24. That first photo made me wet myself.
