  1. Are you trying to plug the stick into a USB3.0 port? I recently upgraded to a MB with USB3.0 ports, was trying to use that for the X-52 and was having major issues 1) installing the drivers (installation would crash) and 2) plugging the stick into a USB3.0 port would cause the exact same issue as your having. Used a USB2.0 port instead and voila!
  2. Donation made to The Jon Egging Trust 870131640G3160903 Fantastic idea fellas. Thanks
  3. Bookmarked for download later, thanks! P.S. Might look into the X-com remake too.
  4. I have a few games of Operation Metro only. I actually don't mind the map, although it gets boring only being able to play it. I was reading some forums in Australia about it. Someone claims to have played a match with an official tester (or something). This person apparently said that the build being used for this open beta is 2 or 3 months old. It's designed to test the server loads, etc. and that in a way, the beta only shows of 0.5 of the frostbite engine, but not the full engine. Anyways, I take that with a pinch of salt!

    :(

Have you had a look into university courses? I did the Bachelor of Aviation at Edith Cowan University in Perth many moons ago. At the time, the flight training component was self-funded, but it seems now it can be covered by FEE-HELP. Not sure, but you might have to do the flight training through Singapore Flying College (part of Singapore Airlines) at Jandakot to be eligible for FEE-HELP funded training Obviously that means you can pay it off when you're an airline pilot, or keep your wage under $47k for the rest of your life and never have to pay it back :D
  6. That's not what the IPCC are now saying happened: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/aug/09/mark-duggan-police-ipcc However, I agree that the rioters could care less about the shooting and just wanted a bit of 'fun'.
  7. Nothing scarier than chavs on the rampage...
  8. Holy crap, I feel like it's on me...
  9. No. It's just that it's American TV, so they're actually all 25 year olds portraying children...
  10. I had no idea the F-22 shoots fireballs! Fear it!
  11. Unfortunately, I have no idea if that power supply will be sufficient. It's got the wattage, but that's not really what counts. I think most people will tell you that the name brands (Corsair, Seasonic, Silverstone, etc) would be the only ones to look at. Can you work out the internal width of the case starting from where the motherboard would sit? I ask because most of the best coolers are freaking huge and wouldn't fit in a lot of 'no-name' cases...
  12. Hrmm...I've never heard of Nspire brand of power supply. Does anyone know if that will run the spec he has listed? I found the voltage output: +5V = 28A , +12V1 = 18A, +12V2 = 18A, 3.3W = 30A, 5Vsb = 3A - is that going to be enough for the system? If you want to overclock, then it would be a good idea to get a good CPU cooler. What case do you have? It might not fit a new cooler :P *Sigh* this stuff can get so expensive...
  13. Yeah that's fair enough about the mobo :) It's really up to you, but I think when you start paying that kind of capital for a mobo, you would be doing so to push the CPU overclock to its fullest. Most people tend to think that the 2600K is overkill and money (about AUD$100 more?) better spent elsewhere. From what I understand, the only difference between the 2500K and 2600K is that the 2600K has a little more cache and hyperthreading (which is not used by games?) Again it's really up to you. When I finally get to upgrade, I'd be going with the 2600K and a Asus P67 Pro.
  14. The ASUS Sabertooth looks great, but I'm not sure is worth the extra money. I'm not sure what the others think, but the P67 Pro looks good enough to me, even for overclocking. However, it does look like the Sabertooth does support SLI/Crossfire. Win7 is pretty good compared to Vista. Even if you don't decide to go with Win7, you should try to obtain the 64-bit version of Vista (not sure if you can request a 64-bit version from MS for free seeing that you have 32-bit). You'll need 64-bit to take advantage of the 8GB RAM you're looking at.
  15. Give Simware a try. They ship to Egypt and shipping might cost less due to being based in Europe...
  16. Hrmm....menu soundtrack for DCS: Fighter?
  17. I haven't got my hands on Warthog just yet, but my taxiing technique in BS and FC2 went something like this: - Check my initial heading in parked position (for this example, we'll go with 000 degrees (direct north) - Request taxi to runway - Take note of the runway direction provided by ground control. (let's say runway 27). - Taxi in the general direction that is OPPOSITE to the runway heading given (in this case, I would taxi with a heading of 090 degrees). I'm not sure if it's the same with Warthog, but in BS and FC2, there would always be two trucks with giant lamps on their backs parked at the start of the runway in use. You could look out for these to get your general taxi direction. But a printed airfield map is probably the more professional method!
  18. Fixed it for you :P I've gotta get a look in on HELIOS. Might crack out the touch screen this weekend...
  19. I can't believe it would be a limited production run. It's been pretty successful and there was no mention of that in the marketing. Maybe it was a standard email from PC Aviator?
  20. There's also the Acer T230h - it's a 1920x1080 23" touch screen monitor. I'm not sure what it's availability is like anymore in the rest of the worl, but there are only a couple of places stocking it in Australia now. Anyhoo, it's very cool. the image is pretty good - the touch screen function is not as accurate as you would probably like, but for a touch screen of that size, it's very affordable.
  21. PC Case Gear's website says in stock!
  22. The FlightSim Store now has it listed for ~ $575 $543 at MTech Computers!
  23. Awesome. PC Case Gear has it listed as AU$550. That's a lot better than I though it would be... I think we need to take the ETA with a pinch of salt though :P
  24. Always a good thing of course! :)
