Have never seen this before on the hornet and I fly it exclusively. Your configuration or HOTAS is borked somehow.

Just edit the lua for the 18 and put in what you want then also save that file to a temp location if you want to do it manually and only have to mess with it after the 18 gets patched. Did that so manual 1 and manual 5 are chaff and flare only so I don't waste flares trying to get rid of a radar missile. Yes it would be nice if this was fixed but the work around is easy. Unless you change your programs around a lot.

Regardless of all of the debate on the JSOW C that we don't have back to the OP if you want to hit a moving target as of today in DCS using the 18 you will be using a Maverick or LGB of some type if you do not want to use a dumb bomb with guessing aiming ahead or a smart weapon that is aimed ahead of the target. Manually guessing your aim ahead of the target can be done but it is guess work you can get good at by practice. Mavericks or LGBs with point track they don't care that the target is moving. Naval specific you can also add in the Harpoon.

Yeah the Hornet cannon damage is seriously wonky. I can kill some units (Patriot SAM bits) quite easy but you can put a Roland SAM EWR out there and it is literally impossible to strafe with the 18. A SAM RADAR.... It isn't even consistent between SAM types as the SA-10 bits can be strafed but require a lot more hits than the Patriot bits. So yeah never mind lightly armored vehicles. You can See some completely un-armored vehicles that you cannot strafe with the 18.

Nope. Canopy switch is under the yellow spider handle and engine anti-ice is outboard of the Avionics power panel in the aft right console. Not sure why they would call either special for joystick.

Interesting. I use AP all the time with assymetric loadouts due to just being too lazy to want to mess with constantly trimming the aircraft. However I rarely use BALT I normally just use HSEL. Every now and then I will combine the both but normally only when flying over 30k feet. Will have to test BALT to see if it does any trim bit. HSEL certainly doesn't leave any trim enabled after turning AP off since as soon as I turn it off the aircraft will start rolling again.

TDC press is correct but I suggest you visit HABU post on page 1 to see what your problem is. Guessing you are assuming that the Mav is following the pod exactly and that when you TDC press you are locking onto the tank which obviously is not happening. Even going through the HABU method you still must go to the mav page and lock it up to the correct target as the pod only gets you into the neighborhood. Now also keep in mind that TDC press is only if you have the optional method checked in the options. Otherwise it is TDC press and hold then slew and release TDC press when over the target to lock. I have the optional method enabled as I find it much easier/less annoying than having to hold the TDC press. Unless you are really hung up on doing it that way just suggest doing it Mav page only. Only time it doesn't work great for me is if the Mav sees something else close by it wants to lock on to when I TDC press. Other than that zero issues with using Mav F to kill targets.

He managed to deep stall the aircraft?
-
Indeed it does. Power cycle resets that indication so it is only good for the data of the one flight.
-
Only the two seat F-16s have that and only in the back seat. Mainly seen in the HUD or as stated in the AVTR tapes (of the HUD) post flight.
-
Doubt that is in yet and not sure why you would even want to do that.

The problem with this post is that flying an aircraft one time abusing it like this WON'T break the aircraft. How would I know? In two of my three incentive flights I had in the F-16 they would leave the switch in Cat 1 so that we could pull 9 Gs and doing so with air to ground configurations. Did the aircraft break simply due to pulling 9 Gs with wing tanks and SUU/TERs with BDU-33s loaded? Nope. Sims tend to put in artificial breaks for over G due to the simple fact that ASIP programs and phased maintenance and maintaining a real airframe over it's lifetime isn't even a thing in any sim I've ever seen. So putting in a "punishment" for over G is a short cut way of dealing with that. But it isn't realistic.

Not possible for the optical tracker to show up as anything on your RWR as it isn't transmitting anything the aircraft could pick up.
-
I think it is more of a "magic" fix in DCS as even with friendlies and enemies using the same systems (SA-15 for example) in proximity to each other when the HARM is set to hostile only it just seems to know the difference.

fixed AIM9X/120C fires when CCIP pickling GBU/CBU
Stubbies2003 replied to apd102's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
The dogfight/missile override switch takes priority over the master mode buttons. If you want to go to A-G mode in the real aircraft you MUST center the dogfight/missile override switch. If you don't you won't get to an A-G mode or even back to Nav mode. -
I've seen many over Gs yet never saw one even remotely bad enough to inspect the engine mounts or wing bolts. That would have to be one hell of an over G. Pilots buying beverages? Sure seen that. Pilots turning speed handles with the maintainers? Can only speak for the USAF but that never happens.
-
PLEASE do that. I've seen so many people in MP shoot friendly SAM systems with HARMs.
-
Great way to take care of that itch. I worked on the F-16 for 19 years and I love flying both the Viper and the Bug in DCS. Viper needs Mavs in the worst way tho.

DCS: Supercarrier Update for 19 March 2020
Stubbies2003 replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Well just to play the devil's advocate here since I fly the 18 rather than the 14... If I only had the 14 for whatever reason and had to pay 25% more for the SC than the 18 guys and also be told that no guarantees it will work at all or we hope to have limited functionality for that extra 25% I'd be more than a little annoyed if I was a 14 guy. -
reported [REPORTED EARLIER] Steering dot not showing proper lead
Stubbies2003 replied to Baikingu's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah have also noticed the lead dot not exactly what the missile actually wants as I do try and center the dot to give the missile as much energy to keep as possible (lord knows it needs it with the wonky works great or not at all AMRAAM) and I've watched the AMRAAM make some immediate left or right turns off the rail depending on enemy aspect even with me centering the dot. -
[REPORTED] significant FPS drop just after landing in VR
Stubbies2003 replied to Helios1138's topic in Bugs and Problems
Well if it is a too many statics at an airfield yes you can see that in VR regardless of version. Only happened to me at certain airfields at certain locations. Not a general lag every time regardless. I also was helping a friend with a 2.5.6 OB server but there was only a carrier to land at and definitely didn't have any lag after landing bug there. Just the failure to hook up to the shuttle bug that is already known for beta. -
That and the fact that the missile itself decides which target to attack in SP is why TOO is preferable IMO for normal attacks. People just need to remember to set up the missiles correctly for hostile only contacts to avoid attacking friendly SAM systems. Seen that more times than I care to recall on MP.

100% duplicatable for me. If I am in BVR mode and switch to TWS then try to do the short cut to ACM/gun mode the FCR will not go into ACM. It will get bugged out. Going out to BVR mode again and switching back to RWS then re-selecting ACM/Gun mode has the FCR switching modes good again.

[REPORTED] significant FPS drop just after landing in VR
Stubbies2003 replied to Helios1138's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah this one sounds odd as I can fly long stints in MP using the Oculus Rift S and have no problems what so ever. The only problem I can see from the Rift S is occasionally it will go into a constant stutter mode but I can exit DCS and still see that at the home screen so it isn't a DCS issue but an Oculus one. Perhaps a 2.5.6 new issue as I've not flown OB since the 2.5.6 update due to the issues it's had.
