After starting DCS the throttle/collective is set at 50% despite 'Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS' being checked in the options. It seems only to happen the first mission after starting DCS; subsequent missions during the same session obey the Synchro option. Watch the collective indicator top left after spawning into mission. After switching to a jet the same thing happens - it starts to accelerate down the runway. Test Mi-24 Rudder Pedals.miz

Here's a video of same mission spamming rockets with TV on - fps is fine.

Bump for this - It's been an issue forever. Hellfires, Spirals...etc none seem to have this problem; only happens with Vikhrs. VIKHR FPS.trk

After bringing the power up to 100% we are told to stop the APU. When you do this the APU stops and the temperatures drop, but then we are stuck there for over 2mins 40secs before the training moves to the next step. MI-8MTV2-Training APU Off Long Pause.trk

The reticle's lowest setting is very bright, and useless in low-light conditions. Compare to the Mi-8 Side by side Compare to Petrovich's reticle - both at lowest brightness... Also, the brightness knob does nothing for 90% of it's turn. Only the last 10% is useable. Reticle range.mp4 Feels like this...

Separate Pedal Trim & Pedal Trim Reset commands - to allow us to set and reset the anti-torque without simultaneously un-trimming the cyclic. Also, Gradual Trim Release - a special option that resets the trim gently which isn't as lethal as the sudden zeroing. I think this feature is part of the Gazelle's special options(?)

It only launches four at a time, so I wonder if it's just the interval time between flares that's wonky. Mi-24 Flare Spam.trk

The Chinook has the latest SquishTech™ tires Will these trickle down to other helicopters/planes? The Hind is especially notable for its plush rubber

investigating Some of moving parts in the cockpit now not moving
Lixma 06 replied to Miro's topic in Bugs and Problems
The slider is at 100% Quick video - aggressive manoeuvres & TFE. Compare to this clip from a Casmo only a year ago. New Apache Flight Model is negating some previous advice DCS World Apache_edit.mp4 Please bring back the vibes (especially the shroud) as an option. The code is already in there - just let us turn it on! -
Using 'long left' I can switch between a green and red countermeasures AI menu. I can't find anything about the red version? What's it for?

investigating Some of moving parts in the cockpit now not moving

Honestly whoever killed this effect shame on you. It looked great; very immersive. And I've tried every manoeuvre to induce the visor to vibrate and get nothing. At least have it as an option? Compare BRING BACK THE VIBES -
I deleted the bug thread - hopefully it didn't cause any alarm. I've started trimming by holding-moving-releasing and it's strange (e.g I normally fly Ka-50 with Flight Director on) but it does work well.

Speaking of trim release.... Here I am cruising and trimmed for level flight. The AP doesn't appear overly taxed. Question: What happens when I hit 'Trim Reset'?
-
Even this doesn't cover it. Watch this video - After the first pitch down and trim I release the joystick; there is no further deflection; it remains centred. All I do is repeatedly press trim and the nose ratchets its way down. I then level off, trim, release joystick, and keep pressing trim button to 'walk' the nose up the ladder.

Thanks @admiki and @AeriaGloria for your patience! Still.... I remain skeptical that the real life Mi-24 behaves like ours. It seems insane that any trim system that throws the aircraft further into a turn, or a climb, or a dive would make it past the drawing board.
-
@admiki There's no misconception - that's exactly how 'Central' mode is supposed to work; and exactly how it works with the Mi-8. That's the whole point of Central mode - to allow player to return stick to neutral; to prevent un-commanded/extra input that we see in Mi-24 and Ka-50. So while I trust the Mi-24 autopilot is correctly modelled, the Central trim mode in the Mi-24 and Ka-50 is apparently broken. The Mi-8's Central mode works fine. I've thrown up a post in the Bugs section - hopefully they'll take a look at it.

Yes. In the video I zoom out a bit to keep the cyclic in view to show there was no further directional input from me after the initial pitch down.
