  1. Thanks for the explanation, Tippis. So, I deleted the labels.lua from my 'saved' folder and lo and behold I have restored full label functionality. I have never messed about with labels until today and have never touched the .lua so I'm guessing my labels file has been customized via a mission I've downloaded (maybe) or a server I've been playing on (probably). I'll find out later if my theory holds.
  2. Nice one I'll have a play with the .lua, thanks SD. So I take it the actual menu option is broken?
  3. Doesn't matter what I choose in the gameplay options or in the mission editor I only get full labels or none. No abbreviated, symbol, etc. What am I doing wrong?
  4. If you're using TARGET all you need is a simple sequence - first press holds the water injection button in; a second press releases it. No need to map a separate 'lock' command. But a dedicated toggle function would be preferable.
  5. I'm getting into the habit of disconnecting then re-connecting into a server after a sortie so as to break up the otherwise very long TRK file into manageable chunks. I don't know if it's technically feasable but the ability to restart TRK recording at, say, the end of every flight would be nice.
  6. Why is it happening, though? What's different between 0m and 100m that causes the MAP to increase? I wonder if it's a 'hack' to allow players to take off at full throttle without having to worry about wrecking the engine?
  7. I think I've found the reason I was inadvertently running too high manifold pressure. When you're on the deck (50m-ish) you can push your physical throttle to maximum and the MAP will sit squarely on 51" without having to finesse it. No fuss - perfect! But climb to just 100m and the MAP surges to 57" (accompanied by nasty mechanical sounds). Descend back to 50m and the MAP will remain on 57" until you back off the throttle whereby the MAP decreases to healthy levels and you can again go max throttle to 51". Weird. surge.trk
  8. As a workaround - 1. apply and hold full brakes 2. While holding brakes go into escape menu 3. Now go into controls menu 4. Release brakes 5. Exit menus and brakes will remain full on until you manually move the pedals. But yeah +1 chocks please!
  9. Thanks! If you get a chance, ask them if the 'Head movement' option will ever get the ability to adjust the intensity via a .CFG edit or a 'slider'. It's a very old feature and I'm not sure if it's popular enough to warrant any further work, but I find having it turned off makes everything feel a bit dead, while having it on it get's a bit too 'wallowy'.
  10. Sorry @Flappie, I didn't realise you'd replied. TRK attached. 'Head Movement by G-Forces' must be on in Misc. options (The bumping is still present with 'head movement' off, too - it's just much harder to see and so isn't an issue) Here's a new video where it's easy to see. Keep an eye on the G-meter and watch the pilot bucking up and down as I try to maintain a 2G turn. g-bumping.trk
  11. These are my gauges the moment before I move the oil and intercooler shutters back to 'neutral' - all of them in the green blue. One second later my engine blows. Timestamp here... I'd be surprised if the difference between running safely at military power and destroying the engine was a mere 4", but I don't know.
  12. I've been having the same issue and I'm reluctant to use the 47 online because I don't trust it. Here's one example. I take off at 7:16 with both oil and intercooler open. Cruise down the coast for a bit, turn around, and at 7:22 apply military power (no water). At 7:24:20, just two and a half minutes later (all temperatures fine) I move the oil and intercooler shutters back to neutral and immediately the engine dies. I don't know whether that indicates causation or just unfortunate timing. p-47 engine.trk
  13. Just tried again, doesn't work. Tried re-mapping it, mapping it to the throttle, etc. Are we on the same page here? I'm talking about the flaps 'reset' button - the tiny one next to the regular flap buttons.
  14. DCS Pony turns 10 this year what would you like to see in an anniversary update? Bug fixes, new skins, more features?
  15. Nah, still can't hear anything (unless I'm missing something).
  16. Bump for this - I thought my eyes were going. I'll just repost Ranma's picture for comparison. As previously mentioned it looks like a 'bloom' effect all over the place - horrible! ED how can we turn this off?
  17. Bump for this (pun intended) It's still annoying as hell, makes dogfighting a lot less fun when you're bouncing up and down in the seat.
  18. Thanks, I can get the needle working in TLG which, as you say, doesn't seem right, but no audio in either mode.
  19. The button works using the mouse, but it won't respond to keyboard or mapped input.
  20. Can't get a signal (audio or needle) on any frequency or band.
  21. A slider to adjust the transparency of the Petrovich HUD/reticle. Also dynamic transparency depending on where you're looking. This clip from EECH demonstrates the feature....
  22. I wish DCS would warn/prevent us equipping load-outs that will 'break' the avionics. Happened to me with the Viggen, also.
  23. That was it, thanks Vit. I haven't tried the Hind in multiplayer (yet), is jumping between cockpits forbidden in MP, or is it just an early access thing?
