Newbie.....bet you guys are tired of us
ApoNOOB replied to Walking Dude's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Be one of the cool guys... And join the TeamSpeak of every MP server that you join! :D I've got a little newbie question too, I have a slower onboard graphic card too, would that one take load from my "normal" one if I plug one of my two monitors into that? (Don't have Instruments or MFCD's on it, just TS, .pdf's etc.) -

Not wanting to derail (this interests me and my weak pc very much), but what other settings factor into visibility range aswell? For example when i zoom in i can see con trails that i can't normally (without zoom). But also normal stuff like city's and rivers... (this is a problem in an A10 for example when someone discribes me where the target is and all i see is green ground texture^^) Also do texture settings affect how well you can see other aircrafts? Is low or high better?

~200 seeders&630 leechers, will keep seeding the night with all i got.

So anyone notice something different with the landing on the F15C? My gear keeps going out under me. Anyone else notice this? I could do horrible landings before without problems and now 2nd time in a row those wheels go into the tarmac. Is this a bug or a feature? (As in "Hey we made F15 landing more realistic so you can't just smack onto the runway) If the latter how would I now best go about it?

In MP scenario communicate with the team. Otherwise run in the following conditions: You see trails in the sky, somebody/something is locking you and last but not least your RWR gives a missile launch. AWACs is also an option but the mission needs to have one. Remember hills and mountains are your friends! You also can drive missiles into the ground google Dcs a10c sam avoidance there should be some videos out there that show how that works.

Ramp start training: Master Caution keeps going off
ApoNOOB replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
As i understand: APU provides pover for your engines (to turn them on). APU Gen provides power to your electrical systems when APU is @100%. (Turning on APU gen before APU is @100% will give Master Caution) A/C GEN: Will provide power to your system when the engine(s) are running. When a Engine is up and running(With A/C GEN on) and provides power Master Caution will go off till APU GEN is off. After your engines are running you can turn off the APU. In short: Battery PWR, Converter STDBY, APU On(wait till it runs up to 100% you can do other stuff in that time), APU GEN on, Engine Switches (Pumps, A/C GEN etc)- and start up Engines. There should be no major warnings then. -
When i started the best thing i ever did was copy all the TS3 infos from the different servers (usually you will find it in the briefing) into my favorites. Everytime I join a server, i also join their TS channel. Also maybe PvP missions (like on the 104th) are not really for new players, there is too much to know and to be aware of. Stick to COOP and you will be at a level where you seek the thrill of Aim120's flying at you sooner then you can say 'crash landing'. :)

Yes yes, real life and all. Fact is that FC3 uses easy radio communications and every FC3 Pilot hears EVERYTHING that is said over the radio. And also wouldn't an AWACs warn friendly aircrafts from bandits that are approaching in real life? Please then somebody explain the procedures so we can get a discussion going how this would translate into DCS.
-
Hi there, in MP missions where lot's of A2A is going on the AWACs just gets spammed and is slow to provide answers. On top of that every FC3 Aircraft receives those messages. Wouldn't it be possible to make an option like "Provide Updates" or something, that you can get periodic updates (like bogey dope or request picture) only for the player that actually requested them? With 20 Players only ATC is annoying, add AWACs (and soon Tanker) on top of that and it get's very old soon. Next problem is that radio communications take very long (the response takes often very long - is this a server problem?) and sometimes you want an update on that <10miles bandit very quick. The more popular and organised FC3 gets, the more this becomes a problem. :(
-
The flight experience is very different, as people said, the A10C has nearly everything modded while the FC3 Aircrafts simply give the Fast Mover fun. (which A10C of course doesn't have) If you want the FlightSIM go for the A10C, if you only want to fly around and shoot stuff stay with FC3, because the A10C learning curve is massive and people that just want to "shoot stuff" quickly get bored.

Yesterday on the 104th I couldn't stay connected for longer than 5 minutes. Never had this crash stuff that bad before... It looks like the more people are on one server, the worse it gets for certain people. Not everyone crashed so often like me, so i can see how some people don't get how many people are pissed off by the current build. I want a 'somewhat' stable release from ED and this takes time, okay. But slowly i tend towards the "It can't be worse" crowd. :) Only thing we can do is calm down, nurse the wounds of the ragequit to our ego's and preserve till 1.2.3.
-
I don't see how 1.2.3 can be less stable than the current build... :P

In the first mission I had the same problem, but after a few times, after waiting for my wingman and flying absolutely only over wps it finally worked. But on the second mission where I have to protect a flight that attacks sam's - it just doesn't want to advance. :/ I kill every jet that approaches (more then once!) but it seems like they can't complete their objective. :(

[DCS:W] More TACAN and ILS enabled airbases (release)
ApoNOOB replied to Ebs's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Nice thx! You don't have per chance a .pdf with ATC data that has integrated those changes? :D -
I joined in later but had a great time! Thanks for doing this. (I didn't kill anyone else or myself \o/ )
-
Lies, we made it afterall! We tried to land in "nowhere" which didn't work out very well for all of us, true... =)
-
And don't be like me and crash into your wingmen in a flight over the black sea! :)
-
Call it A-10A before the next guy tells you what Python said. I was already writing. xD

I think we all share roughly the same attitude here. "Well don't bother them too much, we know, we know... "When it's done and all" but if you just could give us some little bit of new info..." :)

Not claiming to be an expert but what has the TGP to do with the CCIP piper? Am I missing some closely guarded insider knowledge here? :) Can I select different weapons while in the TGP? (I don't mean the Master Mode) I was always under the impression I had to have HUD SOI and use the DataManagementSwitch(DMS) LEFT+RIGHT. Or have I simply misunderstood the question? Also maybe interesting for you, what post #6 means are the different Consent to release modes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45Xe1M5LpY4

Thank you for that bit of info, but I meant of course ingame. :) I have seen the UHF used for example in quaxs mission "tears of allah" (very nice mission check his server out!) where the A-10C have to tune in on a specific frequency. After you do that you hear radio transmitions from the mission and other hawgs. For example if someone shoots a maverick you hear "RIFLE!", getting hit "I am hit!", Guns etc. Also there is some audio for commands like "RTB, Bingo fuel, roger etc." but I have not seen the UHF used otherwise in DCS. Disclaimer: This is in Quax's Mission (!) and not seen regulary in DCS. Also Maachine how are you coming along? I am from germany but my online times are mostly at night so if you ever need anything, I am most of the time in the "Spare Time Pilots" TS when I am online. Just send me a text if you need any help and I will answer you as soon as I can. :)

Does eject work normally for you otherwise? I haven't heard from damaged ejection and I thought i had seen all kinds of damage there was... So maybe I should get shot up more. :)
-
To clarify, if you don't have power you will lose the alignment - which would take even longer than repairing. :) I sometimes had issues like, you repair and something still doesn't want to work. Most times I had this with engines or APU's. Of course with the engine you first try ~30secs in the motor position to check if its flooded with fuel. But with the APU I have run in a wall. Is this a "me thing" (I can't replicate it, most of the times it works like it is supposed to) or can someone enlighten me what this could be? Sadly I never had the presence of mind to save a track or make video. :/ I hope you don't mind me derailing the topic a bit here... *cough*

Are you sure thats how it works? Because I remember googling the differences between keyboard layouts and trying that shit out. :P Now it's just P for me! Anyway, thanks I will remember that for the next guy who asks!
