I would say no to your questions. The map is finished and is fine.Try mustangs mod for better mesh detail. If ED did what you asked..they would get a hundred reports asking why FPS has got worse. Eveything is a trade off..better visuals==lower fps. Personally I like NTTR a lot and use the above mentioned mod to make it look better.

Thanks for this..rolled back graphics driver and used your disable gamedvr reg trick. Definitely got some VR mojo back...had given up lately with stuttering and fps drops.:thumbup:

My 2 cents. Recently upgraded to new pc...19 9900k 2080oc 32 gb ram. Stuttering in 2d a bit solved when moved to ssd..nearly 100fps in 4k super smooth now. In VR also stuttering a bit and not smooth looking around. Backed off pd to 1.4 and turned off global cockpit illumination.Now its smooth again and im happy. Solid 40fps on ground most cases. Noticed on last pc flood lights causing fps drops after the move to 2.56.

Just got a new aurora r8...9900k to 4.7gh...rtx 2080oc..32 gb ram and other goodies specifically for DCS moving forward. My last system is aurora r4 nearly 7 years old but still going strong in DCS. Yes you can save a few bucks building your own or buying somewhere else and as someone who has built a few in the past..that extra few bucks is money well spent. Works flawlessly straight out of the box and barring abuse will last a few years. And I think I got great value for my money...about 2630 euro.

My default night test....caucasus huey instant action night flight. Clearly some tweaking to do in cockpit lighting and reflections but what a joy to see the horrible sky banding gone forever. At gamma of 2 with no exterior or cockpit lighting the scenery and sky look wonderful. Batumi at 10 kms looks like a city should at night. Kudos to ED for this :thumbup:

Hi Got the mig19 in the sale...so very early doors. Noticed fps in VR tanks with radar on. From solid 40 close to ground to 21 or thereabouts. Very obvious when switching on and off.

For the original poster... standard black hardpoints... add this to description.lua for the skin {"uh1_weapon", 0, "uh1_weapon_blk", true}; otherwise they are tan I think

I hear you...and having to download the full size textures at every update. We need a moderator to move this to appropriate forum and have the devs make it permanent. Imagine loading up a few of these 8k textures...filling up vram...causing performance issues when full. These 8k textures are overkill and not needed...the model isnt that high quality.

Yes waste of space with those textures sizes....and I play in 4k. Going to try to resize those big ones....0.5gb skin !!!! Thanks for heads up. Edit....after 50% resize in paint down to 2.2gb total folder size!
