  1. I don't have time right now to watch the trk, but if you are fast, have loaded wings and pull G it is possible the wing breaks
  2. Doppler-Effect while zooming... some1 broke physics!
  3. Thats not correct. A fluid has a constant energy. This energie konsists of Pressure, Temperature and Speed. Because of the high speed of the Blade the pressure suddenly drops, leading the fluid to vaporize. So thats no vacuum! The damage is caused by these Vaporbubbles popping because they are smashed under the Pressure of the surrounding fluid. As there are no bubbles that kind of implode like in the cavitation effect, there is no damage caused. The temperature should remain almost constant. If something vaporizes, it absorbs heat to reach the energy-rich state of vapour. But in this case the water condensates. The effect is caused by pressuredifference. It's the same effect that can be seen at the mach barrier. Because of the large pressuredrop right after the compression at the mach cone the partial pressure of the water is greater than the saturation pressure, so it condensates.
  4. Strange that the AGM-65D and G kost the same?!
  5. It will still overwrite after SPI is set, as the LASER is the accurate target information. Best way for target aquisition is from ~20nm away at an angle between 20° and 60°, depending on the path you want to take and the time you want to have toll you reach the targetzone. If you fly high enough (If you have AirSuperiority you shouldnt fly under 14k ft) you barely have problems when you get close, because the TGP looks down enough. I usually turn TGP-Wing down, as you have to have a way higher bank for the opposite turn. Ofc there is no angle/distance/alt where you can circle and always see your target, but that is just not neccessary. If you get close and are not ready for ingress, just turn away and scan the area while flying away from it. Has been answered I guess... But my 2 cents: Dumb bombs are way more fun, and in case of realistic flying: cheaper! JDAMS are nice, but not as accurate as LGB's and only able to engage static targets. Unknown/misc is for the case a missile comes out of the blue while beeing radarlocket for example. So the system cant accurately determine what kind of missile approaches you. I personally hate semi mode, and much more auto. I altered the corresponding lua-file to add my own Profiles. This way I waste less countermessures while having the control over everything. It's a bit messy because getting launched at is a stressful situation, so every bit of workload off the pilot is nice, but since automode is near to jettison and semi-profiles don't suite me... I dont know if the semi/auto adapt to entered / altered profiles, but I'd say no. So I didn't change the standard profiles, but added my own at the End of the List.
  6. The D and G are IR-Seekers, the H and K are TV-Seekers. Only difference in Seekers is, the D doesnt feature the Force Correlate mode. If I recall it correctly, the ADJ-Feature is not implemented, but it is used to adjust the boresight of the Mav
  7. The mavericks seeker is forced to correlate with the picture it sees at the moment. So it doesnt lock on the contrast of a certain object like it would in a normal lock, but on details of the terrain or building. ("advertisement text" is, that it is able to lock on a certain window of a building)
  8. I guess ptako's point wasn't going to possibility but much more to "how to" ;-)
  9. Not true, smartass ;-) Now you can argue that you wont be shot down, but you still can be blown up
  10. Would be a nice option. I dont think it is possible to edit it just vía the loadouts, because there has to be a pointer for that. All loadouts are a list that connects a pointer with a hardpoint. The pointer represents a Weapon, so if there is no pointer for a left/right setup for 2 GBU 12 on TER you can't add it. I'm not an expert on this, so perhaps its possible but I don't know how. The possibility to just drop 2 GBU's after Takeoff is quite a good workaround, as you can take off with above MTOW, although I don't like the unrealistic point of it.
  11. It depends on the Maverick you are using. The 65D gets a solid lock at about 8nm. The 65H gets a lock at 3-5nm but can use Force Correlate as Viper mentioned. The Force Correlate mode lets you lock a certain picture, so the Seeker does not lock an Object but a Position. This is very useful against SAMs because you can rifle from up to 14nm depending on your altitude. Ofc you dont have a lock on the target itself thus making target homing impossible. If the Target moves you miss... This mode can be used with every Mav except the 65D
  12. I think I read on a wiki article that CBU 97 base cost is about $320.000, so 105 will be more expensive. Mavericks are at $65.000 if I recall it correctly. But I guess this is for the early versions only, so I guess the IR versions and the heavy heads are more expensive. I'd be interested in the price for one 30mm round ^^
  13. Yes P*Funk, indeed. In my beginnings I was happy to have guided munitions as it was a very handy way to engage targets without exposing yourself to enemy AD. I still tend to use guided munitions in many missions as Iglas are a real pain in the ass ^^ But however this really bugs me, as I want to be able to use every weapon to its maximum potential, and iron bombs are fun. And with realism in mind, a loadout with 6 Mav's and 6 or more GBU 12's is very costly ^^ A question I asked before, although LASTE doesnt seem to function properly: Where do I get wind data from? I know wind data is shown in the WP-Page, but as soon as you enter wind data to the LASTE page this readout is affected.
  14. I'm not sure if I get you, so my apologies if I got you wrong... The Su25T is not part of the series because it... well, was not in the series?! The original LOMAC featured the A-10A, Su25, Su27, Su33, Mig29, F-15C And giving a free module so people can try DCS w/o having to overthink spending money on it or not is imho a quite good idea
  15. Where is the problem with that? I'd like to have something of the size of a 747 with DCS fidelity flight model ^^ Su25 definatly is fun, although target identification is hard. It does not feature a missile warning system nor optics, so double careful with possible Airdefense in the AO
  16. I guess the number of complaints is so low because of guided munitions... Although there seems to be a problem with the calculation; if MavF22's Vid is correct and bombs really travel sideways in stable 90° dive without wind, its no surprise the calculation is wrong. @MavF22: Dive Bombing is quite ok, if you leave wind behind. But I dont think release in Climb is a common method for unguided bombs PS: Never heard of that before, does it really give you kind of accurate solution?
  17. I dont know how exactly the trim system of the a10 works... On commercial airliners the whole elevator is moved to reduce triminduced resistance. I doubt that the elevator of the a10 is moveable, so I'd guess the elevon is pitched up or down regarding of your trim input. This would be realised by an hydraulic actuator. If this fails, trimming vía aerodynamic force for elevon-movement could be a backup?!
  18. None of these Aircraft have an HMD... Is there an actual option to generate one? Or perhaps it is the normal "movement" of the HUD that you are referring to? The HUD is a projected Display. No matter what angle you look at it, you will always see a CCIP-Pipper for example at the place of Impact, as long as your line of sight goes through the HUD down to the Point ofc... If your HUD really behaves strange, a screenshot or better a video would be good.
  19. Well, that is not quite what preventive flares are ment to be. In this video a quite large amount of flares is fired. This didn't prevent (perhaps delay, I dunno) the launch, but ofc it confused the missile. So I'd say preventive flares in common sense (1flare each s) is quite useless, but flares pre-launch are usefull.
  20. Windcorrecting the dispenser is a whole lot easier than correcting dispenser and bomblets. The bomblet itself uses the chute only to create spacing between the bomblets. These release submunitions which contain sensors and munitions. So I'd guess there is no extra correction for the submunitions as it is complicated and would perhaps not add much accuracy. But still just a guess of mine... The total time the submunition is heavily windaffected because of the chute is quite low because the chute is released when the rocketmotor ignites to stop the decend. If you watch a CBU 97/105 from fuse to explosion you can see the bomblets on chutes till the explosion of the submunitions, but the explosions aren't directly underneath the chutes. I didn't do any deep testing on the CBU's... I tend to reduce the HoF in a funktion of targetspacing and windspeed. The results I get are mostly satisfying. As you said, CCIP has a lot of quirks... I guess the behaviour of the CBU97 in CCIP is one of them?
  21. They do well from lower altitudes aswell, you just have to drop them as acurate as possible. The less they have to correct for, the better they do with a short flight Never claimed they are... From my experience it shows the release point of the Bomblets, so the point where the Dispenser opens and releases the bomblets. I'm pretty sure this is it, because you can see the Hull of the Dispenser impacting past this point. I'm not sure how it corrects for wind and if there is any difference from 97 to 105. So I GUESS you have to manually correct for bomblet drift. But I'm not sure
  22. THIS!
  23. I like to have Sidewinders, if you have to defend yourself or find a Helo they are your best bet. Even in SP-Missions, I suddenly had a Mig diving down on me less than 5nm away. Was able to dodge the R73, turned after him and shove a Sidewinder up his... Engine ^^ For Target-Aquisition 20nm+ is best for searching with the TGP. Set markpoints on targets you find! On less than 10nm it is a good idea to have a look out of the Canopy. Use zoom to get a look on certain locations.
  24. A mix of Patriots, Hawks and Avengers seems quite threatening, too. Patriots can engage quite low targets, Avengers ofc, too. I guess that's an extremely difficult task. I'd like to try that as it would improve my missile-dodging. Do you know the name of that mission?
  25. Ok... how about some S300 in open plain? Or less drastical some SA-11 Although killing a SA-15 with rockets is quite impressive. I dont quite believe you get as close as 2NM without being hit
