  1. Well, I managed to slide off the cliff and even reach the Skala FARP, but unfortunately it took me too long to take off, so the wounded one died on the way. Condolences were passed to family ;)
  2. Three hours flight time and I made it! (However not always in one piece - mine is the one with broken tail :D)
  3. That's from original Mustang manual.
  4. I'd suggest more practice ;) And learn to feel and predict the aircraft behavior, especially during takeoff. Here's how I do it with an old Saitek's Cyborg Evo, without ffb, and no rudder pedals. Well, the throttle quadrant is very helpful, but as you will see, it's not that crucial. Turn on the controls indicator while in cockpit view (RCTRL+Enter) so you can see stick and rudder movements during most demanding parts of flight. (Clear weather, and stuff, but for training at the beginning, that would be useful). quick_P-51D.trk
  5. What I can suggest you is practice, practice, practice ;) I use an old cyborg evo, without forcefeedback, and after some time I can pretty well handle pony without crushing during take off or landing, even in harsh weather with all fuel tanks filled up. With twist handle as rudder control ;) And no curves set :D I got me a throttle quadrant so I could have precise control over rpm and throttle but that's pretty much enough to fly this baby without much trouble. I gues set of nice pedals will improve flying even more, but that's yet to come. Safe flying man!
  6. @Blaze, that's exactly what I was singing to myself while posting this thread :D
  7. Yeah ;) That's possible, but still... recently I got shot down or rather shot while standing on parking spot on server, which in theory was dedicated to freeflight without guns, so there is always a risk ;D I just hope, that there are more pros than cons in this idea ;)
  8. I wonder if ED has ever considered implementing player-operated boom operator position for KC-135 or its russian equivalent? It would be fun especially during multiplayer sessions, and it wouldn't need to be extra realistic. Some basic mouse operations and few buttons propably would be enough ;)
  9. Third flight and I managed to land without braking anything off the chopper ;) Though not exactly where I wanted to land, well a lot of training ahead... By the way, I think I know how this guy felt: h :D
  10. I didn't even bother with autoupdater. Whole stuff downloaded via torrent, and it "only" took about 4 hours ;)
  11. Got it :] Two flights, one landing... well, almost, with tailrotor broken, but no hull loss :D
  12. Check in options if you have avionics and flight model for mustang set to full real instead of game mode. I think there was similar topic not so long ago.
  13. As for the first question - have no idea. The second one - manual is located in [your DCS directory]\Mods\aircrafts\Flaming Cliffs\Doc
  14. Thanks for the update! Su-27 looks a lot sexier now ;)
  15. I just bought CA via paypal, and everything went smooth. Serial received and game is on my disk. I hope the "technical issues" are no longer a problem.
  16. @Sense, I'm not sure if posting your full address and payment details here is a good idea ;)
  17. Yep ;) I wrote polite (no sarcasm or irony here ;)) e-mail detailing my problem to person whose address was provided by PayPal during the purchase (sales person section I guess) and today I received full refund from Fighter Collection. Kindness pays :) Edit: and since I still want to buy CA, I'd be much obliged if there is an info on paypal payments not generating "error 002" anymore ;)
  18. My first guess was, that sagepay received the money for CA and something went wrong while transfering it to ED, I hope that everything is back on track by now ;) I don't think there's need to be nervous.
  19. I didd't receive the game. Still waiting for my ticket to be answered ;) Well, I'm patient ;D
  20. To back Lazarus up I have to add, that I bought FC3 and P-51 the same way, and everything went flawlessly. I'm using firefox, and error 002 was shown on ED E-Shop. When looking into my payments section in DCS profile there's no sign of saturday's Combined Arms failed transaction. Only in emails from PayPal i can find the Invoice ID.
  21. I just happenned to have the same problem while trying to buy Combined Arms two days ago. Error 002. Today I received an e-mail with information, that payment is completed, and ED have my money :D The only thing missing is CA serial number in payment section of my DCS profile. I hope it will be resolved soon ;)
  22. My suggestion is to try manual startup. It's not that hard as it seems to be ;)
  23. I've just figured out, that selecting in mission editor to start from runway, with engine already running, didn't get the plane damaged. Actually taking off, flying and eventually landing was quite possible. With difficulties of course, especially landing, but still doable. Funny thing, that when I chose to shut down the engine, it ended up with this crazy dance and ultimately, aircraft destruction. As to "safe" wind speed for engine startup, I selected 15 m/s and one time I destroyed only right aileron and tip of the wing, and another time, whole wing fell off. So I think it would be around 13-14 m/s at current engine modelling ;)
  24. I didn't try the ram filter, but surely will. The plane starts dancing when prop begins to turn. The faster the wind is, the more damage airframe gets. Eventually wings are torn apart, fuel spills and bursts in flames. edit: yep, it is definetly the wind. I've just altered mission so the weather is perfectly clear, and even I've changed season to summer, with exception of the wind, which is left at 19 m/s. Just as the propeller begins to turn, it rolls over the aircraft and mission is over :D another edit: I've just realized that 19 m/s wind is actually a small hurricane, so flying in that conditions wouldn't be very wise at all. Will have to change mission weather conditions to some more "handleable" ones ;)
  25. I figured out that wind has its part in what happens there :) It's set at 19m/s and 133 deg direction. Airplane is facing 142 deg. When I turned the wind completly off, her engine started flawlessly. But increasing wind to 11 m/s ended up in dance, luckily without dismembering airframe. So the wind is the one to blame here :D edit: perhaps clouds density, which is set to 7 has something to do as well.
