I actually managed to get rid of wings during one of my recent landings (well, most of them :D).

I'd suggest running Repair DCS World. I had similar problems, and after removing training videos for Su-25T everything went fine. Just in case I performed repair option, than again update, and everything seems to work fine. One more thing to do is to remove input data from WinDir:\Users\[YourName]\Saved Games\DCS\Config. Interesting thing, that after update I have "Aircrafts" folder in Mods directory as well, but with Mi-8 instead ;) Anyway, all works well.

F-86 front wheel has steering, but it needs to be activated manually. As for the Dora, I can actually take off with twist grip as well, and it's not that impossible. Requires some practice, but that was the case as well with P-51. There are a lot of forces affecting airframe during that stages of flight. And they have to be taken into account and eventually prevented from pulling one off the runway.

Well... Got it!

[BUG] Bullet shells fall from wrong spots under wings.

You could try to install clean DCS, without any addons you bought. After that use ingame module manager to activate and add modules that you have serials for.

Promo copies. Edit: I was to late. ;)

I thought pretty much the same in the beginning, but after some time, I realized that it is, well... historic. As well as Dora itself, so after all it fits somehow. The sirens seem more like city alarm during air raids, so they help build atmosphere ;)

So... first takeoff a little wobbly but succesfull, first landing not so much, since I broke one wing, and messed up suspension. Second takeoff a lot better, second landing a lot worse: both wings clipped :D Anyway, I got used to imperial gauges and now I need to learn to remember correct values in km/h so I won't stall during landing in the future. Like it!

Anyway... got it! :D

I' suggest turning off mirrors as well.

I noticed that there is a red lever that stays in the same position, regardless the doors are closed or open. I thought it was single livery problem, but it seems, that it's rather 3D model issue.

Some shiny silverish texture would be nice ;) Just like in old time FPShooters ;) I turned of HDR an suddenly FPS started to seem at normal level. However weapons visible in mirrors hit frames pretty much the same as HDR.

In-cockpit landing, breaking through vortex ring

Here's another video of the same Mi-8 mentioned in this thread, just this one is showing taxiing, hover check and takeoff. Notice at about 4:15 the sound of breaks installation. And also the running takeoff which takes almost all runway :D Anyway, I miss that sound. c1tnpiwmKHo -
Well, my happiness was to early, since my saitek's throttle quadrant stopped working :/ Edit, it was one of my usb ports :D

I have to remap my controls again, but beside that W8.1 runs fine.

FPS and Mi-8: your experience?
ophiuchus replied to BaD CrC's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Turning off HDR and tree shadows improved FPS significantly. Now I can see what's in the mirrors, and do not feel any stutter. Drawback is of course the prettiness of the whole game ;) -
FPS and Mi-8: your experience?

Rear mirrors enabled on Mi-8 eat A LOT of FPS. Strange thing, that I use mirrors on every module I own, and only on the Hip they are declining game performance. -
You could also try to use in-game module manager, which should automatically download required installation files in proper version.

What I can suggest is to set your Mustang with lower fuel level in mission editor, so you can control her more easily. For example no more than 50% of total fuel capacity. And don't load her with rockets, bombs or drop tanks. From my personal experience I can also suggest not to use elevator during first stage of taking off at all, don't pull the stick, don't push the stick. At least until tail is raised, which will eventually on its own. When you reach over 100 mph try very gently, and I mean very... ;) pull back the stick. Once you are airborne keep in mind, that the torque will try to roll your plane to the left, so be prepared to counter that with aileron to the right. Again, be gentle on the stick. Of course everything in previous posts considering rudder applies as well ;)

How is this exotic? Bazooka launchers (M8 4.5in triple tube) were used on Mustangs as well as 108 gallon drop tanks. Flare gun is mentioned as standard signaling equipment in P-51 original manual which you can find on google books for example :) 108 gallon tanks, source: Wikipedia Picture of Mustang with M8 Launcher is taken from Bill Gunston's book.

This is actually for consideration by devs. Have you thought about adding for example 108 gallon drop tanks, triple bazooka launcher (based on Bill Gunston's book of Classic Warplanes series) and maybe flare gun for pilot? There is this hole in left side of cockpit for that purpose ;)
