Dear Sirs, On some objects, the maverick tracking gate does not collapse around that object. Instead, it collapses in front of the object with full tracking gate as in AREA mode: Please find the video of that tracking gate behavior: https://youtu.be/5vrIlj4BGWw Best regards, falconbr

Hi, TMS right commands AREA track. However, if an AGM-65D/G is the selected weapon and the TGP is in POINT track, hand-off in progress or complete, TMS right will reject the hand-off and reinitiate the hand-off sequence. Best regards,

Hi, The AGM-65 mounting procedure induces an unknown amount of misalignment. Misalignment is corrected by boresighting the missile LOS to the HUD LOS. The target used to boresight the missiles to the TGP should be as far away as possible to limit parallax errors. Missile boresight is most accurate if performed in the air on a realistic target. The TGP can also be used for boresight but automatic hand-off of a TGP tracked target to an AGM-65H/K is not supported (only possible for AGM-65D/G). Best regards,

Hi, The AGM-65 mounting procedure induces an unknown amount of misalignment. Misalignment is corrected by boresighting the missile LOS to the HUD LOS. AGM-65L does not require boresighting due to its wider field of view. The procedure should be as follows: 1. ICP - Depress A-G button. 2. Left MFD - Select desired format. 3. Right MFD - Select SMS format. (a) Select desired AGM-65 loaded station. (b) PRE or VIS submode - Select as required. © PWR OFF OSB - Depress. 4. Right MFD - Select WPN format; NOT TIMED OUT displayed. 5. HUD - Confirm PRE/VIS symbology. 6. DMS - Forward to select HUD as SOI. 7. MASTER ARM switch - MASTER ARM or SIMULATE (as desired). 8. MAN RNG/UNCAGE switch - Depress (optional). (a) Missile video activates with NOT TIMED OUT displayed. NOT TIMED OUT blanked after 3-minutes. (b) If an early uncage is performed, disregard Step 9. 9. After 3 minutes - NOT TIMED OUT blanked. Video is displayed automatically. 10. CURSOR/ENABLE control - Slew HUD TD box over desired target. 11. TMS - Forward to ground stabilize sensor on target. 12. DMS - Move SOI to WPN format. 13. TMS - Left; select desired contrast option. 14. EXPAND/FOV switch - Depress; select desired FOV. 15. CURSOR/ENABLE control - Slew AGM-65 gates over same target. 16. TMS - Forward; confirm target tracking. 17. WPN format - Depress BSGT OSB (mnemonics highlight momentarily). 18. TMS - Aft to break missile track; verify missile LOS boresighted to sensor LOS. Hi, Just to add a few more: - SMS SLAVE mode - auto slave missile diamond to target designator box, - SCAN mode (AIM-9 L/M), - AIM-9 missile seeker diamond boresight position - 3 degree from boresight cross, - AIM-9 missile seeker diamond uncage behaviour - it can be uncaged with or without a heat source, - AIM-9 missile seeker diamond cloud behaviour, - AIM-9 missile seeker diamond behaviour - boresignt (nutating a little bit), slave (TD box offset), - HUD AIM-9 missing symbology – range gap, 3,6,9,12 o'clock reference tics, - BT/TD SMS functionality, - SMS page for AIM-9X, - Realistic COOL/WARM function. Best regards, falconbr -
HARM as Sensor (HAS) http://www.ausairpower.net/API-AGM-88-HARM.html "The Target Of Opportunity (TOO) mode, also termed the HARM as Sensor (HAS) or Direct Attack (DA) mode is a lock-on-before-launch (LOBL) mode in which the missile receiver is used before launch to acquire the target. This mode allows off axis attacks on emitters within the field of view of the seeker. It is typically used as an offensive mode by non-dedicated strike aircraft to suppress emitters."

Dear Sir, What about keyhole constraints? Do you think that is correct implemented in DCS A-10C v1? I think that Jetguy06 is right in a.m post. Thank you in advance. Best regards,

Dear Sirs, I known that AGM-65 implementation is a WIP: but please consider following changes of current AGM-65 WPN Page symbology: - 5/10/15 seeker depression angle markers are too long, - Tracking Gate gap is too small, - Sensor of Interest (SOI) Outline should touch OSB mnemonic, as is for OSB 11 – 15. - Aircraft reference symbol and steering bar are missing. FOV Corner Markers, Crosshairs, Tracking Gate, Seeker Depression Angle Markers and Weapon Pointing Cross are symbology that is identical for many different aircraft, for example: F-16 block 30 & 40 F-16 block 50 F/A-18 A-10A A-10C Gripen P-3C Thank you for your effort. Very best regards, falconbr
-
 Also, the following changes should be done: - The size of Pointing Cross is smaller than real one, - The size of Depression Markers is bigger than real one. That symbology should be identical as in DCS A-10C. Best regards, falconbr

Dear Sirs, On the HUD, the AIM-9 circular missile aiming reticle is positioned 3 degrees down from the gun borecross and the AIM-120B circular missile aiming reticle is positioned 6 degrees down from the borecross. If the AIM-120 is in boresight, the missile diamond is positioned in the center of the steering error circle 6 degrees below the borecross. Above mentioned is correctly modeled in DCS F-16. According to the relevant -34 manual, if the AIM-9 is sighted along the boresight, the missile diamond is displayed at a position centered in azimuth and 3 degrees below the borecross. In current version of DCS F-16, the missile diamond is not positioned correctly: Please consider to change that as per RL. Some RL HUD pictures: Thank you in advance. Best regards, falconbr

Dear Sirs, I would like you to consider the revision of current implementation of AIM-9 uncage behavior and AIM-9 missile diamond slave to target designator box. Namely, when conditions are: - AIM-9 L/M selected, - SLAVE/SPOT modes selected, - Radar lock-on is obtained, the missile seeker diamond (small size) stays in the center of missile reticle. The uncage command is needed to slave missile seeker diamond (big size) in the target designator box. Once uncage, the missile seeker diamond can not recage. The pictures are as follows: The above mentioned is different from any real life manual and HUD videos that I have studied. I think that correct procedure should be as follows: - AIM-9 L/M selected, - SLAVE/SPOT modes selected, - Radar lock on is obtained, - Missile diamond (small size) is automatically slaved to target designator box, - Pilot maneuveres the plane to place the target within missile azimuth limits, - When proper IR condition is meat, i.e. the tone is reliable, the uncage is need to verify that the missile seeker diamond (big size) tracks the radar target, - The the missile seeker head (diamond) can recage to small size (inside target designator box). If BORE mode is selected the diamond is recaged to borresight position (center of the missile reticle). That corresponds to the process depicted in the following picture: Any answer will be appreciated. Thank You in advance. Very best regards, falconbr

+ 1

Exactly the same!!! Also, the most bothering thing for me is not accurate/incomplete HUD symbology in different modes. :( But is EA, so there is nothing left but to hope that this simulation will be corrected and completed in the future.

How is your missile diamond centered in missile reticle? From your track "Viper Bug AIM9 Slave Toggle.trk": My is located in upper part of missile reticle: Than you in advance. Very best regards. falconbr -
[ALREADY REPORTED]AIM-9 Does not Slave When Selecting SLAVE on SMS
falconbr replied to Frederf's topic in Bugs and Problems
So, can we expect to simulate real behavior like depicted in this picture: i.e. if SLAVE selected and lock-on established the missile diamond is automatically slave to the target designator box (still small diamond) and after the good tone and uncage command is selected the missile diamond become big and self track the desired target? Thank you in advance. Very best regards, falconbr -
Hi all, In your opinion, are AIM-9 HUD modes and operations realistically simulated or not (both with and without HMCS)? If not, what are missing? Thank you in advance. Best regards, falconbr
