  1. I did a mission now with the 227 hotfix applied and the killcount is still zero. Someone in another tread mentioned that DCSW crashed with a "debriefing.lua not found" error. Had to check that really fast. That didn't happen at least for me. At least i got something on the score counter which i havent for a while, just result count. Anyway ED WILL fix this soon don't worry. Its a major piece iof LUA code to get through to fix this and maybe they have put it on ice until finished with Steam/Gamefly initial process. Buisness have to go first understandable or else we may not even get ANY patches or addons in the future. BUT it worries me abit all this rush about new modules before important things gets fixed. Isn't that the classic way to introduce more bugs? The changelogs have gotten "thinner" lately regarding details on whats comming up of fixes also. Maybe they just have akot on their minds for the moment. Can't do anything but wait anyway. Also you guys don't count cause you have already bought the modules :D
  2. Just read somehere on steam that the score's got recorded if missions was started in-air. Haven't tried it yet though.
  3. So does this mean that we will be all good in the future with quad CPU's or even Dual Core's as long as they manage to increase the Ghz on them? Also how much does cache in CPU's affect performance in DCSW? Since it has taken many years to develop DCSW into what it is today, is it safe to say that any major multitreaded model of DCSW is not to be seen for a long time?
  4. I guess here in my interest it was just to be able to check (readonly) and then if not there post in the forums as usual. Like generate a "subject" list from the database to publish on the forum viewable when logged in. But i guess its kind of confidential or other aspect which makes it difficult to do. There is alot of truth in that for sure.
  5. Thanks for the info. I will check out Steam a little more in dept. -
  6. Its a big mess with the ATI's on DCSW and doesnt seem like ppl get any help or hints from ED about what might be the issue (will hurt sales) There is one thing i also would have liked to know and that is if there is any performance difference using DirextX 9c compared to 11. Anyway to put things in extreme perspective, as i have the same CPU as you and when i run at a even 3.6-3.7 Ghz and high settings i get 35 FPS in this test with the GTX-780. I even run a old driver (Pointless to upgrade regarding DCSW) Then you see the out of the world difference it is using a strong single GPU Nvidia card in this sim. I dont know how much you have to pay to get an usable SLI setup, but when it comes to DCSW and current CPU's the definate best deal and least hassle is a 780, preferable one of those with the custom coolig solutions. Big OC potential too on many 780's. With that, many 780's outperform the Titans well at stock speeds. But using multimonitor setups it may be a different story again only when it comes to DCSW with the ridicolus amount of GC mem it requires for that. When it comes to SLI i think for the money used GTX-560ti's 2 GB would be a good deal for most games. For DCSW i have just totally forgotten the idea of a SLI or Crossfire setup. Only thing which works for DCSW is a 10 Ghz Core i7 and a 10 Ghz core/mem GTX ;)
  7. A couple of thing i wanted to know about Steam when it comes to integrated games. Is it so that not all games can be played in offline mode? Will offline mode work for DCSW? Also will non steam versions connect hasslefree to Steam versions?
  8. It's just only for statistics in the Logbook then? So the data should show up first in the debriefing all the same if working and if you are a Russia player in mission then it will be transferred to the Logbook if you are defined russian there only? Anyway i get the result values, but not score and kills so something is wrong yes.
  9. Same experience for me when i had a 5850 1 GB in iRacing, ran 3 screens perfect at high resolutions. The difference again here i think is that the drawing distance in iRacing is nowhere near DCS level. iRacing do have a very neat design for multiple screens tough.
  10. What about a simple questionary form which pops up before login with a couple of relevant random questions to tick off before allowed into mission. Will make everyone have to refresh key things from let say the flight manuals. This will make ppl learn things over time. But then there is the development effort of this....
  11. Wondering about getting a cheaper GTX card for my other PC. How much memory is it on this GTX-560Ti of yours?
  12. You wont bother much until the day you have a major problem just before an important event and you use 1-2 hours to find out if there is a solution and didn't make it . Anyway i havent really checked if it's any better on similar forums. Probably not. You have at least voiced your opinion and thats good. Now enjoy the sim and let the admins/Moderators decide the future. No problem to find contents in the sim to have a great time. -
  13. Yes, ED will do whats best for them, no doubt about it, but what about ideas for cleaning up the forums so it gets easier to find stuff for a user? Obviously there could be more subsections, but not too many either of course AND ppl nned to make sure they put stuff where it belongs as best as at least. Regarding subsections i do miss one called something like "Comms". Anyway i think it could be alot better than today. But again ED will do as please them. And if we were supposed to see this list i guess we would have long time ago... -
  14. Ok, so if i find something which looks like a bug, then i can just look through a database report list to see if it's in there BEFORE i start writing alot about it and mess up the forums?
  15. Yes, that must be more like it. I was waiting at least 2 mins and no change at all on the HSI.
  16. Members have different opinions on whats important to do with the sim. There are members which want a new plane more than anything. If you only want that then i guess your PC's performance is NEVER a topic. Adding smoketrails is a damn good idea in my opinion, but isnt it ironic that at the same time some members are removing their smoke effects alltogether to get out of their slideshow. I am all for most ofl ED's idea's so far as long as i can get a decent minimum performance after a few tweaks. But if many start complaining about major issues with that on optimized high end systems then ED better start helping out a little more than saying get a GTX-560 and you'll have a great time. When performance dips below a certain level i'm just gonna call it a day of buying more additions and just unpack my last acceptable zip. There are important things addressed lately which i defintately hope gets fixed soon, but perfomance is top priority no matter what at all times! This is not a complaint its just that i dare voice how i look at it.
  17. I dont use Win8 so its difficult, but dont know if you agree on this one. There are 2 main senarios first. 1. You first have to be absolutely sure your Win8 dont run any "new" rescource hogging apps/services compared to you old Win7 setup. Check everything you can about that. What about new Aero themes etc. Also any changes in apps you yourself run now which you didn't in Win7. Also sometimes older drivers are faster than new ones. To be short you have to make sure Win8 is as efficient as possible for DCS. 2. Regarding DCS itself i did try a 3 screen setup on my system for like 1/2 hour, then put it away. Simply cause of the problem with the horizon didn't stay horisontal accross all screens when i adjust my view in cockpit up and down. A guy told me it was a bug which happen sometimes, but i got it all the time seemed like so i called it a day. It looked plain stupid and also i got worse performance. Maybe cause of only 3 GB mem. Now to your slowdowns approaching target area. I think you have to first set up a mission/track with the problem so you can replicate it more or less the same every time. Then some of the elements in the scene: 1. Initial explosions 2. Fire 3. Smoke 4. Level of detail on objects and units 5. The shear number of objects and units 6. Level of detail of the terrain Point 1 - Difficult to do anything about Point 2-3 - There are solutions several places in the forums Point 4-5 - See below Point 6 - I think thats what the LOD change did. If you know your target area and what it includes you can try and find out if it is a particular object which is the problem by renaming the EDM files for those objects in the following directory: \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\World\Shapes Taking one by one in your target area unilt you find the ones which have most impact. When you find the problem object or unit then you have to start messing with the shaders and other effects related to them and work on that. If target area is with a town in viewport then that adds to the problem. There are EDM's for them too as you may know. As of the fps not getting better when leaving the area i guess they wont until your getting a certain distance away. If they still dont maybe you should look closely at the detailed fps info values and see whats going on there from entering untl leaving the area. Like mem usage on card, objects count etc. Don't have any other suggestions for the moment so just try and fiddle with it. Even try a Win7 driver in Win8 if it gets accepted as a last resort. Maybe not the smartest thing to do though... Am happy with a 1 screen setup in DCS, then i use 3 screens for games which can handle it. Good luck!

  19. Wonder if it's a bug in the SU-25/A. Did a couple of 360's in the SU-25T at Batumi, but no deviations for me. EDIT: Yes, got the same as you in the SU-25 included in FC3. Error is in the HSI. F2 -> CTRL -y = ok. Didn't have to do any abrupt moves. Still got it. EDIT2: Yout totally right. Tried again the SU-25T. Did some really abrupt moves and got 260 instead of 305 on the outer scale of the HSI. Haven't you heard about hysteresis? You have to tick the glass to make it right :D Important and well spotted! -
  20. In the SU-25T at Batumi runway 31 F2 view shows 305, Required heading on HSI = 306 HSI outer scale = 304
  21. Good that you tried it. Thing with it is that apart from quickly done it eases up the processing of the whole map without user seeing much difference. There are other tricks too not mentioned in the tweak threads, but more involved, i've posted them, but not many responses back about if they tried them. If the targets you talk about are planes, that is where where my suggestion here comes in. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1831180#post1831180 It's involved, but thats where you have to start to get general fps up when multiple units close around. At least what i tested in earlier versions. It looks for sure like they have done major changes to the effects system lately though. If not planes, then what happens exactly when you loose alot of fps? Regarding your settings in NV panel, have you done changes there since install of drivers? If not hopefully you shouldn't get problems with the system choosing the Intel HD. That also have to do with settings in some BIOS'es. Also isnt 35 fps which you had after one of the changes a little to much to expect from the Intel HD? Those mem values you get is odd though
  22. I have a GTX-780 and there is alot which can be tweaked, but a couple of things i find the easiest to change without loosing much eyecandy is: - Keep mirrors off when not needed (8-10 fps up for me in some viewangles) - change LodMult in graphics.lua to 0.3 in high section Also look up on the threads for other custom graphics.lua settings. Regarding the other probs you have i dont know, sorry. -
  23. Regarding general performance in DCS. In graphics.lua there is the section "Precaching" and in there the line: preload_types = {"map", "world", "mission"}; When i see this line i'm thinking, why isn't there a kind of "objects" in there also. I guess its included in one of the others or its just not practically possible. Anyway background for my curiosity is that when you start a mission and turn your view around, objects gets loaded on the fly. Same goes when you press F2 and F11 objectdata gets loaded on the fly. Is it possible to cache this too. And if its possible is the reason for not doing it graphics or main memory conservation? To do it i guess DCS needs to read the mission fille and filter in the object relevant etc. I haven't gotten to do tests on it but will pressing F2 and F11 around the map before flying get any less chance of stutters? If you could just give a very short answer am more than happy?
