So, this is what's out there in RL. Are we going to get all airports and NAVAIDS? :)
-
That is true as well
-
Even if the target is way cheaper than the missile / weapon, and taking it out means that your foe cannot wage war anymore, it is well worth the cost. Think about all that money US spent in Afghanistan on fighting goat herders, basically ...

This.

Everything maxed out in DCS brings the fastest card to its knees, as you found out ... Do a search on graphics settings ... it makes HUGE difference. this thread for example: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=107551 P.S. 8GB RAM is plenty for DCS
-
It could be PSU, but it could easily be something else. Bad memory (DCS uses a lot of it), for example ... Run MemTest86 (http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm) to exclude this as a potential for system instability. And it could be software environment. You need to check system logs for any clue, as already suggested.

Add functionality for NDBs and AFD navigation
danilop replied to LostOblivion's topic in DCS Wishlist
What about Russian birds and NDB / ADF? So USAF is ignoring it, what about ВВС России? -
If you guys use credit card like debit, it's not loan - it's cash! :) You're good to go!
-
That's the discipline part ... it hurts, until you get it!
-
Well, you don't have to take loan for house if you have 200-500.000 in whatever major currency lying around. ... or save for next 30 years or so (plus rent) before purchase .. or take a loan like most ... :) 600-1000 is relatively easy and doable saving ... and most important, it teaches you financial discipline and responsibility.

This ongoing global crisis in the western world started when millions started to default on irrational loans. So no, don't do it. It's bad for you and it's bad in the grand scheme of things. Start saving. Old school cash buying. Be free. As stated, get loan for capital things in life, like house, car or starting business

What happened? :D:D:D

+1 There are two kinds of people in every project: talkers, and doers. Both are necessary in a way, unfortunately talkers get all the glory and the coders are usually in the second camp making things happen.
-
Not going to happen until governments of this World decide that virtual global battlefield is future main training domain for their armies and air forces. Usually such military technologies after a decade or two become wildly available to public. This is impossible to develop and release commercially, return of huge investment (in man hours) necessary is just not there.

Well, if you can't rely on real, published IFR charts and approaches (STARs, SIDs ...) for navigation because of lack of reference NAV points and/or nonexistent/misaligned beacons referencing those points, you can say that DCSW is lacking in that department. DCSW, with current theater and mission editor is almost there, but not quite ... To be fair, 90% of end users don't care and in combat environment you really don't want to do Holding Pattern waiting for SAM or AAA to shoot you down. :D But, for training and pure flying enjoyment it's pity that we have to keep FSX on our computers, just to realistically fly IFR and approaches. So, Nevada is great chance to improve on in this area. Leveling those casinos with JDAMs could be fun :D), but for serious, RL training scenarios we need IFR navigation implemented in detail.
-
One question for the devs (after one discussion on another forum). On what level navaids (intersections, waypoints, routes) and radio beacons (VOR/DME, TACAN, NDB) will be implemented in Nevada / mission editor? Please, grab the opportunity and take your time to implement all of the stuff needed for proper instrument navigation! It is one of the biggest shortcomings in the Black Sea theater and DCSW in general. Anything less than complete implementation would be disappointing in Nevada, if we take into account that there are no plausible conflict scenarios. Nevada would be perfect for training, if the navigation aids, radio beacons, ATC and mission editor tools are done correctly.

AMD Mantle - Catalyst 14.1 Released.
danilop replied to SkateZilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Useful yes, but implementation is very unlikely in the foreseeable future ... -
Everything is clear now. Thanks!

I really couldn't care less who the players and the coach are, what's important is to win the Championship. So bring that MiG on ... :pilotfly:

AMD Mantle - Catalyst 14.1 Released.
danilop replied to SkateZilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If this is final on Mantle, basically AMD system (CPU+GPU) is now competitive to Intel+Nvidia one. That's good thing for AMD CPUs. -
It seems that plan is to release free civilian version of P51D (no armament). Probably preparing ground for DCS WWII project. And SU27 module in the works confirmed ...

Glad to hear it. Take your time.

ED is mediator in ongoing negotiations? It seems logical that neutral (well, ED is not strictly neutral, but you get the picture) party gives a statement in this case
-
Don't jump into conclusions prematurely. Dev team is alive, and although we will probably see some changes, that doesn't necessarily mean that ED took over the MiG21 project completely. Or not. We'll see. The most important thing is that MiG 21 get released eventually, no matter who will stand behind it in the end. Everything else is for the yellow press ... :D
