DCS: Black Shark 2 Ricardo's HD Blue Cockpit
arkroyale048 replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
^ I asked the very same question myself... You can copy the gauges file from the black mod into the blue mod. I'm at work right now. I'll let you know which files they are when I get home.... and also share you my Track IR profile; from your other thread. -
Best way to transition from Cruise to Hover?
arkroyale048 replied to Fakum's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I can't speak for the buzmanni guy what his settings are. In my case. I'm running entirely on default curves and whatnot. For Augmentation.. I have the usual three switched on. Bank, Pitch and Heading. Maybe this coming weekend I can run a stream on the Ka-50 maneuvering on the Aerobatic servers. -
Best way to transition from Cruise to Hover?
arkroyale048 replied to Fakum's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I asked this very same question myself. This guy called buzmanni made this video to demonstrate. I've now found myself proficient at stopping on a dime. Like the first reply says. It is a learned experience. You will get to a point where you can do it by feel rather than looking at instrumentation. However for this exercise. I would like to introduce you the vertical velocity indicator (or whatever it is properly called. I just like to call it that). It's that gauge in the front dash where it tells you how fast you are falling or climbing. Now let's play a mini game. - Go from full speed into a hover without the VVI indicating more than 5m/s climb or drop. Bonus points if you can keep it at 0m/s. You will be shuffling your collective pretty much in this exercise. Word of warning: Whenever you're below 60kph in airspeed. You should never have more than 5m/s drop rate. You will enter into a Vortex Ring. This is why I like the Ricardo cockpit mod for the Ka-50. The gauge has a green tape where it tells you how safe you are descending. -
If you could point out to me which folder the profiles are hidden. I'll be glad to.

Finally remembered to reply here while im actually at my DCS PC. Instead of my work PC.. My Track IR settings for pitch, yaw, X and Y all look somewhat like this. P.S. This is for me a universal setting. I use this profile for DCS (any module), Arma 3, Eurotruck Simulator 2, Assetto Corsa and City Car Driving. The only difference is that for DCS I switch on the Precision setting. While I make do without; on the other games

KA-50 Night illumination fix
arkroyale048 replied to dimitriov's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Yes please, I would also like to acquire the said Putin. -
Ok so me and my friends have been discussing the Harrier for a bit now. One guy insisted the Harrier has no rudder movement in hover mode because there's obviously no airflow on the rudders; and we are unsure if the nozzles allow for Yaw. So; does the Harrier do Yaw the same way a hovering helicopter does ? Nozzle direction changes ?
-
This is indeed normal behaviour as Isegrim mentioned. I do have that mod that centres it in the screen. In the Ka-50 folder; cockpit > scripts (if I recall correctly). Look for the lua file called config. There will be a line there that says '= rad - blabla bla bla" Simply change it to '= 0' It's Integrity Check legal as well.

[DCS World FC3] Su-27 Gray Cockpit Mod
arkroyale048 replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I know you mentioned that you were busy a few posts back. But is there a chance the Su-33 will get one ? Su-33 hype !~ :D -
I've found that taking a 'break' doesn't work or cool down the laser at all. My best gauge is two and a half sorties. This comes from long experience. so that's 12 + 12 + 6. Yea usually by the 7th vikhr on the 3rd sortie. The laser is burnt out. Instead after the 2nd sortie. I would land back to the FARP. Shut down the engines only. Connect the helicopter to ground power. Then ask for repair. You can still get repaired even if the electronics are on :) After that it's just restart the engines; rearm. Disconnect ground power and sortie again.

One last question; Was watching this VR livestreamer last night.. There was a discussion on long term damage to the eyesight. I've been gaming for 20 years now and as of late I do have started being aware of the strain it does on the eyes. So yea I do stop now when I feel the eyes are tired. Any opinions ?
-
^yup that helps. At least the only reason I'm on the fence now is the huge price tag. Last question; how easy was it to set up ?
-
I've been sitting on the fence with regards to VR. But maybe you'll enlighten me; You've already answered one question; seems like the dials are readable now. Last I heard (A year and a half ago). That's a downside to VR. Second question; which VR model did you get ? Price ? Third; I always got the nagging feeling that nobody 'lasts' long in VR. As in it's easier to sap the strength out of you. You'll get tired faster in VR. I've yet to see a livestreamer on VR that actually lasts more than an hour. How's that for you ? Last; no indication of motion sickness ?

Do you also feel this is a problem when learning the BS2 ?
arkroyale048 replied to jfri's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Thanks a lot for this. Now the Shark feels less cramped.
