  1. Did a few more tests (unstreamed). It seems that it's the small circle that will wildly go out of line. However, I tried what you said and just commit to correcting the big circle. You are more or less fine with it. On a side note; it improved my landings some more... less of that last second jerk a few seconds before impact.
  2. Do also take note that asymmetrical loadout would affect the aerodynamics and center of gravity of the aircraft. Only reason I would want an asymmetrical load is when I'm doing a long range/ long duration recon mission. Where I carry one fuel tank and smoke rockets on the inner pylon.
  3. The split occurs five seconds before impact... Maybe my mistake was being undecided whether to commit via eyesight or to still try to correct the split.
  4. Been viewing all my attempts from the start.... The two circles seem to wildly diverge at the last moment (and hence I do the last moments by eyesight). **edit edit** http://www.twitch.tv/arkroyale048/b/607814081 Here's my combat sortie... Just skip all the way near the end. Made two attempts at recovery. The circles would diverge at the last moment.
  5. At the air base it's different... It's on the boat that it does that.
  6. Alright.... I'll try on the next stream.... My 4th stream is a combat sortie on the Su-33. **edit edit** The reason for that sudden movement at the last moment is that for some reason; no matter how good my alignment is on the approach... it would suddenly veer left or right... So I just do the corrections by eyesight instead of the flight director... I'll try to follow the flight director all the way next time.
  7. Some improvement I think... http://www.twitch.tv/arkroyale048/b/607709531 On another topic. Any tips on air to air refueling ?
  8. @Maverick Oooh... Yep... I've been meaning to ask if there's a way to just edit the default profiles so that I don't have to set it up everytime. As for my profiles. With maneuvering, yes it seems to be enough. I don't know exactly how the countermeasures vs the IR seekers work in game. But I'd like to imagine that when I maneuver and then start my profile maybe 2x, all the IR seeker could see is a massive heat bloom, so much that it can fill up the seeker and just go dumb. I've had a few instances where upon doing so, I actually witnessed the missile change targets from me to the flares. **edit edit The video doesn't seem to be playing :(
  9. On my 2nd stream I was able to (somewhat) consistently get her on the deck. Six times out of twelve. http://www.twitch.tv/arkroyale048/c/5816989 Here's a portion of my stream (did this before I saw your post). Only difference is, I think I was doing what you said. Except that I was doing in on the small circle. For my 3rd stream; I'll do the one like you said. Thanks for the help.
  10. I use a custom program. Program A is my panic program. 1 chaff - 1 flare - .50 interval - 6 cycles Program B is my ingress program. 1 chaff - 1 flare - 1.50 interval - 7 cycles
  11. Ok... will try that on my next stream. Will post findings.
  12. How does it work then ? How do I make the circles go where I want it to go ?
  13. Before you ask; yep I did a search on the forums on anything regarding landing the Su-33 back to the boat and did not come up with anything concrete. So why not; I just create this thread to have a few of my questions answered as well as having people refer to this thread with anything regarding landing the Su-33 *Background: Last time I landed an Su-33 into the deck was back in FC2 Questions: 1) I've just about mastered getting into the glide slope. What I want to know is what do I refer to for.... windage ? Left and right ? It seems that I'm always off to the side when nearing the carrier 2) Did they implement the sound of the tailhook lashing onto the deck upon landing ? It seems to make a sound (similar to the one where you break your landing gear on other aircraft). However when I took off again; landing gear is fine. 3) How does the two circles on the HUD work ? It seems that every approach is unique in that the large circle doesn't have a set place on the HUD http://www.twitch.tv/arkroyale048/b/607319826 Here's me freeflighting with it... You can skip the boring parts and just find the landing bits... Please help me improve :D Thanks
  14. I think I would have to try 30 degrees.... Tried 10 degrees a few days ago and only a few successes.
  15. Semi only switches programs according to the threat... You still have to activate it by using CMS forward. Putting it to Auto "A" will switch to the respective program and then deploy the counter measures... Do be careful though... It has the habit of dumping countermeasures even when you're just being pinged (not hard locked). **edit edit** It is not always reliable too (semi). Sometimes you get launched by IRs but the program remains for radar missiles. Also; the semi auto mode doesn't account for radar missiles that has a backup IR sensor.
  16. I would support Poland as a DCS map because of that Larry Bond novel called Cauldron. It explores a hypothetical scenario where Poland, the Czech Republic and Austria are into conflict with a "European Confederation" comprising of mainly Germany and France. With the Brits and Americans choosing to support the Poles first from the sea and air; and then on land via Rapid Deployment Forces.
  17. I thought the climb-descent gauge from Ricardo's was the one with the green highlights between 0 to 5 m/s ? That's the one that I would prefer since it would be easy to see if the helicopter is still within the flight envelope.
  18. How high do I have to lob these things ?
  19. ^ +1 I'm also a regular at the 104th server. If there's one thing their mission designer did (and did well) is disperse the enemy units far enough that at most; you can only get two or three with a cluster bomb. I've come in both as an A-10C and a Ka-50. It's very frustrating that there's a target rich environment but unable to have a 'glorious shack' at the target groups. I do agree though that the A-10C is good because of it's clusters. Only thing about the Ka-50 that I'd like to complain about is that it does not carry enough missiles to be even more devastating that it should. I wish we can also carry Vikhrs on the inner pylons for a grand total of 24 missiles (I rarely use unguided rockets anyway, unless I'm playing spotter for A-10s).
  20. +1 to this Main reason I moved to the Ka-50 from the A-10C was because of enemy fighter sweeps. With the Shark (as I've said a million times during my livestreams); there might be contested skies up there and here I am down here; happily plinking away at the ground objectives. As for SAMs... staying low is the key :) Only thing a Shark has to worry about are AAA's and IR SAMs, but those can be dealt with with a little planning. I also agree that the Shark can wreak more havoc in a short amount of time compared to the A-10C. The Hogs need to turn around; ingress-egress, repeat; and that takes time. The Shark can just nestle on a nice spot and start plinking away. Oh and I love the game of cat and mouse :D http://www.twitch.tv/arkroyale048/c/5796792
  21. http://www.twitch.tv/arkroyale048/c/5796792 It's because of your mod that I now like to stay low and creep up on enemies, instead of just getting altitude and shooting at stand off range :D I do apologize for the potato quality of my stream >.< It's the only one I'm capable of as of now (till I get a fiber connection). Video quality doesn't do justice to the awesomeness of your mod :D
  22. I must say this mod is awesome :D It even helped me gain a few FPS. Good job casper
  23. Leave it there.... In fact... It would be nice if you put in some more Easter Eggs for us to find.
  24. Alrighty :D No rush :)
