  1. I have to agree... Just had to make a few tests in the P-51: Flying over water (2000 m) With mirror: 126 fps Without mirror: 133 fps Difference: 7 fps Flying over Sochi (2000 m) With mirror: 96 fps Without mirror: 107 fps Difference: 11 fps Flying over Sochi (low altitude) With mirror: 62 fps Without mirror: 78 fps Difference: 16 fps Sure, the mirror makes a difference in framerate but no where near what O.P. states. Makes me think there is something wrong with the system DCS is played on.
  2. I use 16GB DDR3 1600 and I can't see that replacing it with faster RAM would make a noticeable performance gain.
  3. I think many people here in Sweden (yes, I'm swedish) misinterpret 'neutral'. Since we aren't at war (unless you consider sending troops to Afghanistan as being at war...) of course Sweden isn't neutral. No one here ever said we would be. Sweden is considererd non-aligned in peace time, meaning we aren't a member of NATO or any other similar organisation. This gives us the freedom to cooperate with anyone as we see fit. And given our location and history with Russia and the former USSR (which isn't exactly peaceful) it seems fairly natural to share intelligence etc with NATO. In wartime however, the official policy is to have a neutral standpoint.
  4. Except from maybe Hungary and the Czech Republic?
  5. Happend to me as well after the 1.2.7 update. It was bound properly but didn't work. Clearing the key bind and re-entering it solved it for me.
  6. Problem is you mistook this for being a game. It's is actually a simulator (and pretty dang good one) hence the complexity. DCS A-10C is definatly not for everone. I have quite a bit of flight sim experience and I love aviation i general but even I have been to the point of almost giving up sometimes. It IS difficult and it is supposed to be difficult. DCS A-10C doesn't offer 'insta-rewards' to the player. But the feeling you get when you finally understand how to input nav data into the CDU or manage to make a perfect landing in terrible weather beats any feeling you get from games like Ace Combat or HAWX. Again, this experience isn't for everyone. It requires time and patience. But since you aparently have DCS A-10C - give it some time at least. :pilotfly:
  7. Thanx for clarifying!
  8. So I finally got my TM HOTAS Warthog. It worked like a charm out of the box except for one thing: I can't map position lights the way I want them for the A-10C. Out of the box the throttle pinky switch was mapped like this: Forward = ON (Steady light) Center = OFF Aft = ON (Steady light) I would like to have the following config: Forward = ON (Flashing light) Center = OFF Aft = ON (Steady light) I have mapped it like this but now its OFF no matter how I toggle the pinky switch. What am I doing wrong? :joystick:
  9. For what its worth: I'm cooling a i5 3570K (4.2 GHz) with a H100 in a Corsair C70 case. Works like a charm! Haven't had any issues. The 'i' version had some initial problems but I think its safe to buy one now.
  10. I was in contact with Milan the other day and if I order the pedals now, I could have them up and running in March and I'm really itching to get them. But before I order them I have a question: do you lucky s.o.b's that already own the Crosswinds have anything negative to say about them? Something that annoy you? Or is it just roses and strawberries all over?
  11. Speaking of which... Anyone heard anything about this? February isn't that far away. :pilotfly:
  12. Had the same problem. I deleted the network.cfg file in ..\DCS World\Config\ folder and then rebooted. Worked after that. My buddy also had issues after the last update and his solution was to remove his firewall exception for DCS, reboot and then put a new exception in.
  13. Solution for me was going from 8GB to 16GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 RAM. Moving the game between Seagate Momentus Hybrid disc and Corsair Force 3 SSD did very little - if anything at all. Adding additional RAM made a huge difference.
  14. Nvidia ShadowPlay works well if your graphics card supports it.
  15. Yes, I have 2GB GDDR5 6008MHz memory on that 680. I don't think a SSD will make any difference for you. As a matter of fact I have tried installing DCS on my Seagate Momentus Hybrid disc as well as on the Corsair SSD but there is NO DIFFERENCE in either performance, loading time or regarding freezing and stuttering. I haven't had any issues at all until 1.2.6 arrived but all of a sudden it seems as if 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM isn't enough to run DCS anymore. My PC is a dedicated gaming rig, i.e it is custom built with gaming in mind. There are no unnecessary processes running, no bloatware and no anti-virus software etc, etc using up memory. It also runs cool and stable with a Corsair Hydro H100 CPU-cooler and TwinFrozr II GPU-cooler in addition to the fans in the Corsair C70 case, so heat isn't an issue either. I suspect serious memory leaks in 1.2.6!:joystick:
  16. I suspect a memory leak or something. I use a GTX 680 (2GB and running at 1300MHz) and I still get the stuttering since 1.2.6. Never had any issues before.
  17. I have the same waiting times with 8GB of DDR3 1600 RAM from time to time since 1.2.6. Seems like DCS is somewhat poorly optimized to be honest. And before someone brings it up - yes, I use a SSD (Corsair Force 3).
  18. I get freezing (2-3 seconds) as well from time to time. Is a overclocked 3570K and equally overclocked MSI GTX 680 Lightning GPU sub-par for 1.2.6 as well?
  19. Couldn't agree more! I find myself going back to the P-51D all the time and pressing F3 until my fingers ache just to hear the fly-by sound! :D
  20. Cheers!
  21. Just did a FC3 flight with a buddy and discovered I have no kneeboard map when pressing 'K'. Exited game to check my key bindings but no joy. My buddy says he has a separate control category for the kneeboard in the setup but we don't seem to have the same ones. We are both using 1.2.6.17746 Any idea whats causing this?
  22. I use a Corsair Force 3 SSD (and 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 RAM) and the loading times are horrible in 1.2.6. Not as bad as for the o.p. but about twice as long as in 1.2.5. I also have problems with clickable buttons not responding on the briefing screen etc.
  23. You can uninstall it from the Module Manager that is in the main game menu.
  24. 326.80 did wonders. Still get some issues switching back to cockpit view from external at times though (cockpit takes several seconds to render) and on occasion the fps drops horribly (it gets WORSE with LESS objects rendered, i.e. flying at an altitude above the sea gives a lower fps than flying low over an airport).
