Am I missing something or isn't the Kh-31 air-to-surface missile available for the Su-27/33?
-
This is driving me nuts... I'm trying to assign 'JOY_SLIDER1' on my TM Warthog throttle to work for zooming the view. It works just fine in the A-10C and the P-51's (both P-51D and TF-51) but no matter what I try it won't work in the Su-33. :joystick: Any suggestions?

Have you checked if companys like VDO have any? I know they make good looking gauges for yachts etc. Might be expensive though. Worth a try... Link to Austrian corporate page: http://www.vdo.de/generator/www/de/de/vdo/main/aboutus/locations/austria/home_de.html

What attracted you to flight simming or simming in general?
El Hadji replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in Chit-Chat
Always been interested in aviation - both civilian and military. Picked up a copy of Falcon back in the days and got hooked. Jane's, Aces of the Pacific, Aces over Europe, MS Combat Flightsim, FS9, FSX - you name 'em and I have probably played them! And one of my favourite ones is B-17 Flying Fortress 'The Mighty 8th'. Wish someone did a remake on that one! -
Think this is the full version of the video you posted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wmWSpdaNWg

Great movie and Väinö Linna's book is even better. Actually watched it for educational purposes when I served in the Swedish armed forces. My grand dad served in a unit similar to the one depicted in the movie.

Westland Lysander - Anyone else want one?

El Hadji replied to El Hadji's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I have forked out tons of money for FS9 and FSX aircraft over the years. I can't see how adding unarmed planes or even civilian would hurt the DCS series from a financial standpoint. Especially if 3rd party devs steps in... Surely I'm not the only flight sim buff that enjoy the actual flying just as much, if not more, as the combat. -

Yes, DCS Europe needs more planes than pure fighters! -
The end if the autograph has some similarities to Hermann Graf's. But not the first part. His autograph is also known to have changed over the years. Have a look here http://www.ww2f.com/topic/33502-luftwaffe-fighter-aces-signed/?p=391227 Have a look at the last part of the autograph you posted and the last part of the 3rd example of Hermann Graf signatures...

For what it's worth, this is what I know about the tail wheels of the 109's: Using retractable tail wheels started with 109G-1 and G-2. The G-3 and G-4 required a larger diameter wheel because of overall weight issues and that made retracting impossible. Rebuilding the airframe to make it fit was out of the question since the Luftwaffe needed all planes they could lay their hands on fast. The later G-5 and G-6 had fixed tail wheels. Starting with the G-10 the planes got an extended tail yoke to make visibility on the ground better. This yoke was non-retractable. As far as I know, the first plane to enter service with all tail wheel issues resolved was the K-4 which had a retractable extended tail yoke. I have also read about retractable wheels/yokes being locked in down position because of technical problems. Haven't seen this confirmed by pilots or similar though...

Combat the score on the FC3! Need to correct.
El Hadji replied to BJH's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Damn... I thought this was DCS, not Warthunder... -
So you can upgrade the Steam BS1 with the DCS BS2 upgrade and fly it in DCS World?

Agree Suchacz! First things first! But maybe later on? A WW2 sim would feel a bit strange with only fighters. I can see other planes like C-47's, Storchs etc having a place in there as well. -

Nice to see I'm not alone on this! :) -
Here you go sir! Now, can I have my beer?:pilotfly:

Am I the only one who would like to see a Westland Lysander in DCS WW II? I can think of some really interesting missions, dropping off secret agents and picking up downed air crews at night from makeshift airfields. Would make some nice change from dogfighting too.

Backer Rewards Section is Finally Here
El Hadji replied to Charly_Owl's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
A simple reset of my account made by the support guys solved it! Excellent response time by the support team! Keep up the good work! -
I'm pretty sure thats something that will get sorted soon. I backed at the same level but only see 'beta access' and six flyables in the personal section.
-
Hi there fellow backers! Can't wait to do some low passes over Normandy! Most anticipated release for years!

I have same email for this site, Kickstarter and digitalcombatsimylator.com but I still can't access the locked forum. Emailed dcswwiiATeagle.ru as stated in the project update and hoping for a fix. The flyables are there though, so now I'm just waiting for the actual software to arrive. -
True. 100% of the technology will be transfered and 80% of the Gripen structure will be built in Brazil. The avionics will also be manufactured in Brazil by AEL Sistemas. Over here in Sweden rumour has it that Sweden will buy the Embraer KC-390 to replace the aging C-130 fleet instead of buying the C-130J. There has also been talks about buying Super Tucano trainers. I guess this deal is good for both Sweden and Brazil!
-
Hmmm... I'm thinking Brazil should have bought Bf-109's or Spits since they have more confirmed kills than most modern fighters. Stats can't lie.

Brasil`s govenment will buy the Saab Gripen
El Hadji replied to jomar machado's topic in Military and Aviation
Just out of curiousity, is Assange training to become a Gripen pilot or something? Can't really see how he fits in to this thread otherwise...:pilotfly:
