  1. Glad you got it working. You should be able to achieve some pretty high settings with your setup.
  2. No I got it fixed. posted in the other thread
  3. I think I got it. No warning messages for over an hour of flight time. Device manager. show hidden devices. removed all grayed out devices. usbdview. verified only devices currently connected show up. searched for and deleted the headtracker dll file. Uninstalled old installations of freetrack and FacetracknoIR. removed all trackIR folders from DCS folders. removed all references to trackir, freetrack, and ftnoir from registry. ccleaned registry. reboot. problem solved.
  4. This is really starting to piss me off. It started a couple of weeks ago. How do I remove all references to TrackIR? Don't have TrackIR and this is really killing the immersion in VR.
  5. Did you install the developers package? Can’t hurt. Are you able to use the HMD at all?
  6. The .251 update came out 2 days ago. It’s just a feature update and MS is aware of the problem. The update is working for most but you still get the error. Mine keeps rolling back to the February update. Should be fixed in the next couple of days. Doesn’t effect VR though.
  7. It would be the best solution but I don’t know how easy it would be. Is the on screen communication handled by a lua? The fact that it can be turned on and off with a hotkey means that we have some control over it. Maybe it’s similar to the multiplayer chat box. I’m gonna go take a look.
  8. All communications are already put on screen but they disappear after a few seconds. Is there a way to keep them on the screen until dismissed or be able to recall them. That should be the easiest thing to implement until a better solution can be found.
  9. Glad it's running for you. That 1080ti will allow you some pretty high settings.
  10. That totally blows. I assume your system meets minimum specs. The HMD is plugged into the primary display adapter? You’re not using both onboard VGA and discrete VGA right? If so switch to the discrete card. There was a couple of decent sized downloads even after the Fall Creator’s update. I installed the developer’s software as well because I pre-ordered mine. Not sure if you would still need that but it can’t hurt. Does the green light between the lenses flash with the unit plugged in? Have you tried forcing a Windows update with the unit plugged in? I had to do that on my backup machine. Native HDMI plug without any type of adapter?
  11. I had forgotten that I needed a Bluetooth adapter. So I went to Walmart and got a cheap Targus one. Works great. It does have to be a BT 4.0.
  12. Wags. What are you using? I see where others are commenting but I can't find what they are hyped about.
  13. I wonder if you could use autohotkey to re-assign touch controller buttons to the mouse buttons and scroll wheel. I don't have the Rift but I will try it with my WMR controller when I get home. I was playing with a program called Camera Mouse and an IR led/camera setup. It works but I need to build a wearable wireless mouse to really test it. I hope a commercial product will come out soon though.
  14. I was unaware of the fact that this was possible. So I can bind a button as the control key within the game, how?
  15. Changing the snapview.lua settings worked well for me. It's # 13 in the a-10. For the start up procedure I move my head forward and hit the recenter hockey I programmed on my HOTAS then lean back into the normal position. This allows me to perform the start up without being a contorionist. Then I just hit the recenter button again to get back to normal position.
  16. What did you do with the Saitek pedals?
  17. Do you have an ir camera? A modified ps3 camera is great for tracking because it is a high FPS camera.
  18. Just can’t see that having the power and fidelity needed for a flight chair. The video with the LARGE guy shows how the seat went into an un-commanded roll a couple of times when the guy leaned a little bit. All they did with him in it was yaw maneuvers. Plus there is no mechanical attachment between the seat and lower unit. If the balls or wheels that are used to move the seat have any slippage (which they will) then you will loose centering. The chair I am currently building has 2 24v 20a 28:1 dc motors on it. That’s almost a thousand watts nominal with double that under initial and braking movement loads. And I’m bummed that I can’t have more than a 40 degree total roll or pitch because I would need stronger motors. The good new is you can build a motion platform for well under a grand, and the software to run it is free.
  19. Make sure the profile is not read only. You can add bindings that will work until you shut down the game and then restart it later if this is the case. Once you have all of your bindings completed, save the profile with a unique name and change it to read only to keep it from being changed again. I have my controller config files backed up as well just in case I (or a bug) screw something up.
  20. Your description of the issue you are experiencing is somewhat hard to understand. Please clarify.
  21. I just started having this same issue a couple of days ago and I don’t use trackir or freetrack or facetrack. It’s happening about every minute or so. Trackir Unplugged followed by trackir plugged. It will even happen with me just sitting on the ramp. Any fix for it?
  22. I keep getting a trackIR unplugged and then TrackIR plugged messages while in game. Seems to have started yesterday or the day before after a small DCS update. I don’t have a TrackIR. Any ideas?
  23. I have the warthog controller and mapped the pinky paddle switch as the left control key with autohotkey. Then mapped the functions I use the most to the HOTAS switches, and axis. I have a trackball mounted on my right side and a Cybersnipa game pad on my left. The game pad buttons serve dual function just like the HOTAS switches. I use the mouse for everything else except for the communication menu which I use voice attack for.
  24. I knew the moment I put on the Odyssey that there would need to be some changes made. In fact I kept putting it back in the box each time I used it because it just wasn't comfortable and I was going to return it. A week into ownership and I was totally hooked on VR and knew I had to do something. I first removed the foam pad and put felt in it's place. Too much light came in and the surface had sharpish edges. What I didn't expect was that the FOV and sweet spot would increase substantially, and I didn't have to wear my glasses under it like I did with the factory foam pad in place. This was frickin fantastic! So I knew I needed foam yet had to have the unit closer to my eyes. So next I removed the rubber mask to see if there was anything I could do about modifying it. Not so much. It is what it is. I started at each side, in the middle of the curve, and lightly pried up on the plastic ring that holds the rubber piece to the headset. Then I just worked my way around until it all came up. you can see the attachment points in the picture. after playing with the rubber ring some I came upon the idea of making the ring bigger without modifying the ring. So here we go. I purchased a 6"x3' piece of Velcro for $8 on Amazon. I pressed it to the rubber ring, making sure the plastic ring was in place so that it held its shape. Using a new Exacto blade I cut the Velcro following the inside of the rubber mask. It was pretty simple to use the ring as a guide without cutting the rubber. Using a compass with a sparkly blue pen I traced the outside of the mask 3/4" out. Then cut along the line with a pair of scissors. At the top of the mask I followed the indentation in the center and after I cut it out I used a strait edge and narrowed the top to 1/2" from the mask to allow room for the forehead pad. I purchased 3/4"x1/2" sticky backed closed cell foam weather-stripping from Lowes. It's basically memory foam material like those squishy ear plugs. I stuck the foam to the Velcro ring following the outside shape. At the top I just ran it straight across and cut the foam with the Exacto blade, again to allow for room of the forehead pad. In addition to the face mask mod I also added a strip of the foam to the upper half of the forehead pad. Put it all together and now I have an extremely comfortable Odyssey that fits my fat head perfectly with no light bleed. Hope this helps. John
  25. Don’t we already have the VIve Pro in the form of the Samsung Odyssey? @SteveVR I have most settings on high, 2xAA, 1.3 overdraw ,with deferred shading off. I have all reprojection settings turned off. I get a steady 45 FPS all the time, no mater what is going on. I was getting short pauses till I added memory but that’s gone now. As you have more machine than me you should be good to go.
