  1. It’s amazing how calm everyone is.
  2. Thanks for the clarification. I don’t use Target so I’m good.
  3. Is this a limitation only when using the Target software? You can use all the axis otherwise, right?
  4. One of the things I thought would make the button clicking better would be to use a micro 4-way “hat” switch. Something like this. https://blog.adafruit.com/2012/05/18/partfinder-friday-5-way-joystick-navigation-switch/ Because the buttons have to be small and close together you can find yourself searching for them a little. With a clickable 4-way you can have left click, right, click, and scroll up/down on 1 “button”. The center click can be assigned to middle mouse button. That way you can double click it to switch between the X and the cursor so you can manipulate the communication menu.
  5. Like I said earlier in the thread, I’m glad someone ran with this idea. I built mine and realized that the implementation was off enough to be more frustrating than useful for me. You have to be able to completely unlock the mouse from the view to make this work right. Because the slightest movement of your head will ruin the mouse cursor alignment with a switch or a knob. Coupled with no tactile feedback, it’s a dance between your hand movement and hand movement. In addition there is unintended movement of your pointing finger when clicking the buttons. I know we all share ideas and thoughts here. Heck, I used Gadrock’s HELIOS with Cpt. Zee’s profile for years. All of my sim panels were built using the ideas and files of forum members here. I assumed (maybe erroneously) that you read my posts, thought is was a good idea and built on it. Like I said, maybe petty, but we all like to be appreciated for our contribution. I receive a sample pack of super low pressure tactile dome switches from a company when I realized the button click issue. There’s like hundreds of them in the sample. If you run into issues with your chosen switches let me know and I can send you these. Good luck!
  6. Thanks. I don’t know about genius, but I thought it was a good idea at the time. I know it may be a little petty but when someone blatently uses your idea they should at least give you a nod. Posted 2 months before Miles stated that he thought it up. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3284136&postcount=3 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3284139&postcount=4 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3284139&postcount=5 Just had to get this off my chest. Carry on.
  7. CTD on 2 different machines when attempting MP. One crashes to black screen when selecting a slot; the other CTD while loading MP game prior to selecting slot. Just wanted to fly for an hour or so while I have some free time.
  8. I had issues with the Odyssey when I first got it. Then I redid the face mask which brought the unit closer to my head. Much bigger sweet spot, wider FOV, and I was able to take off my glasses. Made all the difference in the world. Try taking off the foam ring. If that works for You I have a thread here that shows what I did. Cheap and easily.
  9. I run the Samsung EVO 850s n my machine. 2 1TB drives in one, 1 1TB drive in the other, and a 500GB drive in my laptop. Never had an issue with any of them. Great drives and blazing fast.
  10. Moving the pilot viewpoint is under the CONTROLS tab in each aircraft dropdown. Assign whatever keys you want that you can easily access with the headset on. Recenter and zoom is found under the CONTROLS tab in the UI Layer dropdown. To change the default viewpoint position you must open the snapviews.lua file located at C:\Users\<your user name>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View. Each aircraft is listed with the settings for each view. you want to make small changes to these settings [13] = {--default view x_trans = 0.360000, y_trans = -0.041337, z_trans = 0.000000, NOTE: IF you move the default viewpoint position outside of the cockpit; the move camera buttons will not work. you must remain inside the confines of the cockpit. I hope this helps.
  11. It’s funny how in the last couple of days 4 topics on this exact same concern have been started. Doesn’t anyone use the search feature anymore?
  12. Yes. It’s called icontrol DCS.
  13. Double click the middle mouse button.
  14. Yes you can save your default head position. you can also adjust it in-game. And re-center in-game as well. Using the A-10c as the example. For default head position open C:\Users\(user name)\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\SnapViews.lua with notepad++ Find the aircraft heading SnapViews["A-10C"] = { Go down to [13] = {--default view viewAngle = 80.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.703590, vAngle = 2.784425, x_trans = 0.234391, y_trans = -0.021218, z_trans = -0.009215, rollAngle = 1.707313, Make your changes here. Small changes. It will take some going back and forth till you find your sweet spot.

  17. I will enter dcs then lift off the HMD. Then do a Alt+Tab to verify that DCS is the active window and then do Alt+Enter .
  18. Estimated ship date September 20th to October 10th. I cancelled the order cause they may have a Christmas sale.
  19. Just curious, why not use a touch monitor?
  20. It’s nice to see someone run with this idea. Mounting the camera to the HMD is a great idea. The biggest issue I had is the fact that without seeing them it’s hard to tell where my hands are. Check out the free camera software from this post as it is very good and will allow you to switch back and forth between the mouse and finger input. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=195576
  21. Have you overclocked your CPU? I used to run my 8350 at 5.1Ghz but it was geothermally cooled. An AIO water cooler would be a good investment because you can use it on whatever replaces your 8350 in the future. DCS likes higher clock speeds.
  22. I pre-ordered one from Amazon. I expect it will arrive on the first. That’s how it normally works when pre-ordering from Amazon.
  23. Good find. The 1080ti is a great card. Water cooled is even better.
  24. I use middle mouse button double click to swap between cursor and selector. This will re-center the mouse but may (not) be what you want.
