Manufacturer and model of your TV?

just a heads up. 7 of the Radio Shacks are closing in my area. I picked up 2 MEGA2560 boards for $25 each. May be worth looking into. John

MFCD labels get blurry/distorted seconds after loading

Is the 1920x1200 set up as part of the main desktop? extended desktop? I know the desktop configuration can mess with some games. FSX comes to mind. John -
AMD owner here. Dual card rendering, Nvidia (via 3Dfx acquisition). Native 3D support, Nvidia. Micro stutter fix, Nvidia. When one of the manufacturers can pump out 3 4K monitors in 3D with out tearing or stuttering at 60 FPS then I will buy that solution. Until then it's just a game a leap frog for me.

Very nice. I've made a couple of plastic "push on" handles on a 3d printer at work. Mine aren't as shiny as yours.

Facetracknoir disabling problem
Thick8 replied to GreyCaptain's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
There is a checkbox in the FTir control panel that will freeze the view when you use the hotkey to disable it. So you can move your view to wherever you want, freeze it, and then use the mouse. -
Very cool. I couldn't fly without Helios. I have all the planes but only fly the A-10c. It will be very cool if I can start using for all the aircraft. I have one request. Would someone please make the radios work again? I hate having to pull my mouse down to set frequencies. Thanks. John

which rotary for endless twists left/right?? pls help!!
Thick8 replied to LNR212's topic in Home Cockpits
They are called rotary encoders. You will have to have a board that can "read" that type of switch; like a Bodnar board (the simplest to set up) or some other programmable variety. -
I will use rudder control (crab) to align the ladder when needed in heavy wind conditions. it takes a little practice to master but is quite effective.

The latest updates changed the input files. If you copied your old input files into the newest install then that would be your issue. I did a complete re-install after I made that mistake.

New to DCS, Wondering if this Joystick will suffice?

Love the P-51 RC in the background. What a community. All of use willing to give our pre-loved hardware over to a new pilot. -

I'm pretty sure I have one of those in the attic. not a bad stick but very basic. I've had to take it apart a couple of times to clean the pots. I certainly wouldn't pay $60 for one. Are you in the states? -
Done, right... You will never be done. I like the idea of networking a second computer. Is the second computer just a slave or does it handle some of the CPU and GPU workload? I've thought about hooking up my old 4800+/6970 computer but was under the impression it would not give me any extra Umph.

Very nice indeed. I'm turning in a 40 page essay tomorrow (yea, done) so hopefully I'll be able to get back to finishing the wiring for my panels.

I think most of us use the dial to the right side of the throttles. It's not spring loaded but it is very easy to set up. I guess you could put a light spring on it so it will return to the zoom out position when you release it but you would have to hold it in place while you are doing what ever you are doing to maintain zoom. Anyone making Warthog extensions any more?.
Thick8 replied to Lucky's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Lucky, Cut the center portion of the Gardena fitting on each side where the threads start and then cut out the center portion. This leaves the middle raised "ring" with threads on both sides. Use a half round or rat tail file to file out the 2 metal fittings so you can easily fit a 3/4" PVC pipe through them (Only takes about 2 minutes). Then cut a short length of 3/4" PVC pipe that is long enough to hold your modified (shortened with the appropriate pins broken out) PS2 cable. Now glue and insert a 3/4" coupling fitting about 1/4" on to the end of your PVC pipe and cut off the fitting flush with the pipe. Put both metal Gardena fittings on the pipe with the treaded parts facing out towards each end of the pipe. Then glue and insert the other end of the pipe about 1/4" into the other side of the fitting that you cut off previously. Cut the fitting flush with the pipe just like you did the first time. You should now have a length of pipe with both fittings on it facing outward that can't be removed. The plastic center part of the Gardena fitting screws on to the grip, the pipe screws on to that, and the base screws on to the other fitting. You may have to sand or file the ends of the pipe a little so that you catch enough threads on both ends. Make sure you keep your filing/sanding level. A small square works well to verify its perpendicular to the pipe. Total cost is about $15. As you can see from my pic above I wanted an angle to my stick so I use 2 45 degree fittings instead of a strait piece of pipe but the process is the same. Hope this helps -
Have a look at the YAWC app on the iPad. I think it's a tablet app as well. It has everything your asking for and much more. John

You can make yourself one very easily using a couple of PVC fittings and a Gardena fitting. I might buy another Gardena fitting to make a tutorial video. Cost was less than $20 Here's a pic of mine. -
Wow I didn't realize that the "classics" had that kind of value. I think I have the entire Jane's series up in the attic. It was the best for it's time. I was bummed when they called it quits.

Nice PS cart there Demon. I was looking at a 1200W Corsair at the same time I was bidding on the 290. It sold for $122. I should have thrown a bid at it too. I'm going to give it a go with the PS I have. If it doesn't work out then I'll sell it and pick up a 1200-1500 watt unit.

I sometimes mess around on EBAY by throwing a low ball bid on a piece of hardware. Just checked what the XFX R9 290 DD I bid on sold for. Low and behold I got it for $160. Guess I'm going crossfire. Sure hope the Corsair TX850 can handle it. THE PS calculator says it will so I guess I'll find out.

Just put your whole system on the SSD. then image it on your old hard drive for a back up. I use a Samsung 840 500Gb hard drive with my old 500Gb hard drive and I do a complete disk image about once a month so if the SSD craps out I don't loose anything.
