  1. Sorry about the belated quote, but a thought just struck me. Having opened the Mi24W.cmd file with notepad (and receiving a ton of hieroglyphs on the screen due to the binary format), I scrolled down to the bottom to see the entries referring to: mi24-okras.bmp nomera-yellow.tga sopla-f.bmp nomera.tga ukr-krug.tga mig23-fon.tga bano.tga wint-3-drive.tga mi8-wint.tgaIs there any idea how LO would handle a clone of a Mi-24W.cmd file with the edited texture references pointing to alternate ones, provided we can smuggle in a new CLSID? Or is FC unable of that and we have to wait till BS to be able to do so? Edit: While I'm at it, what's the difference between a Mi-24W.cmd and a Mi-24W-OBLOMOK.cmd? FreeTranslation claims "обломок" means "fragment" - could it be a damage model? There's an alternate way - placing the first digit directly before the nomera positioning. I believe a similar trick was used for Alfa's MiG-29K and the subsequent Navy Supermod, where the first digit was directly painted onto the skin, while the other two "responded" to the plane # and so formed a three-digit nomera. Alternately, editing the nomera files to have 2 digits taking up the width of one (ergo getting 11 instead of 1 or 13 instead of 3) would work.
  2. Never stopped me from shooting down an AAA/MANPAD column with a handful of those. :music_whistling: Or maybe those were Kh-25s...
  3. Regarding PSUs, as Pilotasso said today's PSUs do tend to flame out prematurely. However, the selection of good PSU brands is pretty wide. If you're going to pick a brand, go withe either of the following: Fortron/FSP, Coolermaster, Chieftec, Enermax, Sharkoon, LC Power, Tagan, OCZ or Seasonic - I've seen all of these perform very well for a long time, right now I'm a Fortron user switching to a Chieftec because of a new HDD and cooling system that'll need more juice.
  4. The 385th is still here.
  5. The skins are amazing, Valery, thank you for creating and releasing them!
  6. Nice one, Rugg, guaranteed to show you the way to the target. If that was a HE B-8 that would be black smoke coming out. :D
  7. Actually... Walmis, please accept this only as an idea, not an urging. Those lights on the forward leading edge roots basically have a the same function as the wingtip lights, except, as Willy P. explained, they're both red and active during takeoff. Considering one normally only has navlights on during takeoff, would it be somehow possible to clone one of the wingtip lights (the red one) and mount it on the FLE roots? I obviously don't know how the engine would handle it, but if the argument remains the same those two lights might become active along with the normal red-white-greed ones. Just my 0.02€.
  8. You, sir, win the internet.
  9. Um. Russia and Germany in the same team (as a blue element)?
  10. What happened to missile 3? Never left the rail? :music_whistling:
  11. Exactly. From what I recall from some or another webpage, since a Frog could carry up to four gunpods, they were usually mounted two-front-two-back for strafing runs. Though I'm interested how they got synchronization to work, maybe they just aimed the front turrets optically and maxed out the rear ones' angle, then swapped firing just as they overflew the target?
  12. The first thing flightsims'd need to focus on is ground-up redesigned engines, with the state we're at not even a DX10+QC computer would be able to handle all the clutter. There's a good reason why any game that doesn't get optimized starts losing their fanbase. It's happened with niche games such as the Elder Scrolls and X-Beyond the Frontier series - they were a good start, and brought improvements - but more in the graphical field (utilizing old components - a carry-code error ED made with Flanker and LO) than the actual playing mechanics. Unless something of that nature gets changed, the most we'll get is more graphical upgrades - don't get me wrong, I know LOBS brings far more than simple eyecandy - but the problem remains that dirty code makes life for both gamers and devs a living nightmare. Want the best example? Check your C:\WINNT or C:\Windows folder. That clock.avi file dates from Win 3.11. ;)
  13. Keypad + and -. Increases or decreases thrust by 5%.
  14. You can enlarge the skin by using the resize option in the image editor (and by using smart size or whatever is the best option) - however you will have to redraw the details as it'll recreate the "missing pixels" out of surrounding ones. As for the tailnumbers, it has to do with the NOMERA file - I believe there's a "no markings" mod - take a look at it.
  15. Didn't GCI use to work in LO1.02? I remember us talking it over coffee, Vekkinho, and for some reason the functionality is missing from FC.
  16. Thank you for saying that, I've had it with that movie throwing mud on my name. :glare: Circuit breaker = fuse = "osigurač", if you will.
  17. Crikey, you're right, I haven't. My bad. Um... what default model? This is the first of its kind. Thanks for soothing my fears.
  18. It's so... beautiful...:shocking:
  19. Awesome skin! Will you release it to the public?
  20. :megalol::megalol::megalol:
  21. Aye-yi-yi... 50K polygons. That'll hurt the framerate. Any chance of a de-tesselated (lower-poly) model for us with older systems?
  22. Great work. Downloading.
  23. Hell yeah! I've been eagerly waiting for this for ages! Thanks to everyone who put their effort into it!
  24. That'd be Bulgaria, from their BVVS - Bulgarski Voennovazdushni Sili. Lovely photo there.
  25. You gonna use the Frog or the Hog for the demonstration? :D
