  1. Additionally, if you remove that COUNTRY line altogether, it will make it available for ALL countries. ;)
  2. There can be deviations in the path, but they depend on how each person installed their software. Is it default "Stable" version of DCS, then that folder name is usually "DCS". If it is a direct to open beta install the folder name is usually "DCS.openbeta". Of course, people can modify their install path and have it COMPLETELY different. So, THAT part of the directory structure only depends on how you installed it and does NOT affect whether the skins work correctly or not as long as the overall structure is correct. In other words, If you installed it and the path is "..Saved Games\DCS" then if try to create the "Liveries" folder in "..Saved Games\DCS.openbeta" then that is not going to work, because it is looking it to be in "..Saved Games\DCS". Also, folder names in the directory path need to be EXACT. "liveries" is not the same as "Liveries" (as an example). And need to keep that in mind all the way to the Aircraft folder name. Beyond that, the folders are custom and can be whatever the livery creator set it to be. Hopefully this helped clear things up.
  3. In that case, does the server have the skin as well? Many times, that is not needed but has changed through the years, something may have reverted... In the past it HAD to be on the server, so that others could see you in it. Then more currently, it did not have to be on the server, but you would only see the skin IF you were on the server BEFORE the other person loaded into it. If you came in later, would see default, until they reloaded into the aircraft fresh again. Been a while since I have tested that, so for now, ensure the server has the skin on it as well and see if that fixes anything.
  4. Best solution is to have an "Observeration" machine record the track like the server or just another PC that logs into the mission but does not fly. This way it is only recording coordinates and not control inputs. Its the control input recording that messes up most tracks. I know this solution is not always viable, but is the most effective way in getting usable tracks in DCS.
  5. Edge version 1.1 has massively improved brakes, in particular, the the push buttons. Do you have this version yet?
  6. So, you are saying that you all put your own individual skins in the SAME folder with the same name? Yes, you will ONLY see what YOU have in your install. Each client will only see what THEY have in THEIR install. If you want to see each individuals skin, each one will have to be in their own folder with their own unique name in EVERYONE'S machine that wants/needs to see it.
  7. ED made it so custom liveries can be used from the Saved Games liveries folders. They want to keep all custom files outside of their main install. So you are best served by following their wishes and using them from there. That being said, you will need to make some folders to allow it to work. The first one, if you have not done so already is to make the folder "Liveries" in your Saved games /DCS install folder. Then you will need to create the folder for the specific aircraft that you have the skin for. If this name is not EXACTLY what it needs to be, it will not work, Capitalization included. This will take some research on what ED uses for the folder name in their core install, whether it is in Coremods or mods or maybe under the bazaar structure. Once created though, then in there will be the folders that contain each skin that you have and you should be good to go. Yes, you COULD put it in the core install with all of the default skins for that aircraft and it will still work, untill you need to do a full repair or reinstall of DCS and it potentially gets wiped out. In saved games, it will remain intact through such procedures. Good luck. PS: To answer the actual question, provided everyone put the skin in A proper location(whether saved games or not), yes, everyone that has it will see it.
  8. Glad its working for you, enjoy! It really is something different than anything else in DCS atm.
  9. The Edge 540 will work on any version of DCS(includes STEAM), but it MUST be copied into the correct path into the SAVED Games area of your install. It DEFINITELY will not work if put into the core DCS install location. Be sure to remove it (and the pylons if also there) if you have done so as this will keep it from working even if it is ALSO in the correct location. The Edge 540 path should be this: <Drive Letter>:\Users\<Your Login Name>\Saved Games\<DCS install Name>\Mods\aircraft\Edge 540 And the Pylon mod here: <Drive Letter>:\Users\<Your Login Name>\Saved Games\<DCS install Name>\Mods\tech\VARS Pylons Its as easy as copying the files into the correct place and the only setup is configuring your joysticks as usual.
  10. Real mustang pilots (as well as many other warbirds) will tell you, that even as beautiful a flying aircraft as they are, they are still hands on aircraft nearly full time. You can not expect to take your hands off the stick for more than 30 seconds or so even in the best conditions. For game modes and assists, sure, but ED is trying to give as real an experience as they can for the price of a game.
  11. Yes, it is being refined, but also tuned more on how it handles in the racing department. There is an Extra 330 that is being co-developed that is being more geared for the full aerobatic experience.
  12. All great points except the last one. The Spit can not run away from anything except the I-16, WEP or not...
  13. Since the current dynamic weather system deals with pressure systems, and these systems can only EQUALIZE. The weather can only improve from its starting condition as the different pressures normalize. There needs to be a way for a NEW pressure system to develop mid session to have a storm show up later in the mission. No known way of doing this yet that I have heard of. PS: Also the fact is that the CLIENT is the the basis for the dynamic weather, not the server. The server sets the INITIAL conditions, but the clients weather is always at the start of those conditions when they log in, no matter how long the server has be running.
  14. A suggestion has been submitted for volume control for the music player. Will see if the developers will be able to make it happen.
  15. Anything that flies can be configured to be tracked on the VARS race code, but the Extra is being tuned for the aerobatic side whereas the Edge tuned for racing so they would not really be racing each other. It would be fun to turn some laps in it though.
  16. Here is what you need to fix the Encyclopedia hang. Copy the attached file to this location in the mod: ..\Saved Games\<DCS install name>\Mods\aircraft\Edge 540\Encyclopedia\Plane This is our first official hotfix! Thanks again for bringing it to our attention. Edge540.txt
  17. Will have to see if someone else can answer those questions. I do know that there are still certain aerobatic maneuvers this edge will not do that well. It is tuned more for the racing aspect than aerobatics. That being said, the team is also working on an Extra 330 (probably have seen posts on the forums about it already) that will be tuned more for the aerobatic side and have better spins, snaps and tumbles. That is taking a bit longer for them to get accurate but word is relatively soon.
  18. There was some issue in getting the mixture tied to an axis. They were looking into it, but it got moved to low priority as they were fixing a bunch of other things. I will try to get more details on the situation. Files are encrypted not only to protect how things were done with the Edge, but also to keep people from making modifications for performance improvements since this is designed to be flown in VARS (Virtual Air Racing Series). As far as adding additional keybinds, will make sure they are in the suggestions box.
  19. You have to enter it in meters, then it converts it to feet. Weird, but that is the way it works. Took me a while to work that one out too...
  20. We found the issue with the Encyclopedia and will be getting a fix out ASAP. Thanks again for letting us know.
  21. Do not think is was ever a thought, Will investigate the issue. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
  22. I put it as <DCS_INSTALL_Name> to indicate it can be for any install of DCS you have, or if you changed it from default which some users do. The mods (Edge 540 and the pylons) MUST be in the saved games area and NOT the main install of DCS. Once you get them in the proper location, be sure that you remove it from the DCS main install as that will keep the mod from working. So, in your case, the mods would be extracted to: C:\Users\<YOUR NAME>\Saved Games\<DCS_Install_Name>\Mods\tech\VARS Pylons and C:\Users\<YOUR NAME>\Saved Games\<DCS_Install_Name>\Mods\aircraft\Edge 540 Hope this helps.
  23. Some things to ensure that all goes well: Ensure it is copied into the correct location: ..\Saved Games\<DCS_Install_name>\Mods\aircraft\Edge 540 Certain other mods, most notably the F22 have known conflicts with the Edge. Suggest removing them, at least for a test, to see if the situation changes. Ensure your Antivirus has not quarantined any of the files. Some have reported this happening with no reason for why it took that action. Run DCS administratively or under an admin account.
  24. Which is the problem? the formation? or the carpet bombing? My guess would be the bombing and usually it is in not setting up up the bombing waypoint far enough away from the indicated impact point. They need time to setup and stabilize prior to the release point which will be a fair bit forward of the desired impact point. HOW far depends on the altitude the bombers are at, their speed, and how much of a change in direction you gave them to get to that waypoint. If they are not dropping, keep moving the waypoint the bombing is tied to further and further back and should find the point where they will. Good luck
  25. This is a rare bug that has cropped up for a couple people. Unfortunately, we have not been able to nail down the cause. Please, PM me the DCS.log and the specs of your computer and we can dig into it further.
