  1. +1 on the emergency procedures. VERY interested in that. If I get a hole blown in my right fuel tank can I siphon remaining fuel into the left fuel tank and so on...
  2. Longitudinal aim mode is better for this imho. No need to get a lock, just point and shoot. It's also much more precise when dealing with groups of closely bunched enemies. @Alexrey: longitudinal aim mode (6) will give you a tone when you are pointed at a target that the seeker is able to aquire. No need to wait for a lock, just point and fire when you get a tone, or simply authorize the launch (alt-w) and fire without one. It's up to you.

I've been thinking of trying real hang gliding lately (actually I've been obsessing over it), but it seems so expensive to get trained up and everything...
  4. That's pretty cool...cool_t. I just started learning a little over a year ago. Recently discovered guitartricks.com and the lessons there have been really helping me out. Hopefully I'll be putting up stuff of my own pretty soon here...
  5. Like the opening vid of eech2...
  6. :wallbash:
  7. Yeah I have no idea why there's no rwr...Makes no sense IMO. Flawed design philosophy. You can't always guarantee a "low intensity" conlflict, and so you build for what you might concievably need down the road, not what you think you may need at the time...
  8. What about a long-distance EWR attack, a'la the opening shot of desert storm made by apache pilots. Not going after the sams per se, but instead going after the thing that alerts them to your presence...That would be much more realistic. You could also include "training" missions in your campaign that have the player going after a simulated target and have them practicing for the real mission while not telling them what they'll actually be shooting at until they get through the training missions to the real thing (opsec).
  9. :wallbash: Black Shark will never EVER be released because ED are ARTISTS, man, and we all know that true artists will NEVER be satisfied with their work...
  10. prf and distance to target are the most usefull tools when finding targets at more than 100k. under 25k though, ilv is best...
  11. I can't believe I just watched that...I complain all the time about having to watch videos like that during training and then I sit here like an idiot and watch one for twenty minutes while wondering if this "mast bumping" is even possible in a ka-50...
  12. I've always wondered about the possability of some f4af nut sneaking onto an airforce base and trying to take one for a joyride...Too bad it's never happened. It would be an interesting read...
  13. So there's no stick button to jst throw out one or two flares on the stick in rl? You have to start a program?
  14. :shocking::surprise: ...Stunned... :worthy:
  15. Cartridges....like the nintendo from a bygon era...Our military is so out of date it's scary. ...And before I get flamed: I'm IN the military. TRUST ME. It's out of date.
  16. Just the option to switch between russian or english (both cockpit lettering and audible warnings) would be nice. Would definitely make it easier to learn such a complicated sim. A prerelease version of the manual, sure would be nice too.... If it's not in the official release, would ED be amenable to one of the knowledgeable testers creating a freelance version of the cockpit textures in english (ala english cockpit textures 2.5 found here) on thier own time, or are modding tools/tips being withheld until after release as well? Also: I'm bored/can't sleep so I was watching the video again and I noticed that the sound associated with the apu seems to cut off immediately after he presses the cut-off switch (@ 1:17). In real life, wouldn't the sound kind of taper off? I'm not saying there's something wrong, I'm just asking if that's how it really is.
  17. ETE = Estimated Time Enroute (not 100% but pretty sure). is the TOS ( time over steerpoint) displayed in the ka-50? It might be called something different in the ka-50, but I'm wondering if there is a russian equivalent. (TOS is the time that you are scheduled to be at the waypoint) Often it is very important to be at a specific place at a specific time to complete your objectives and TOS tells you whether or not you're on time.
  18. Did I miss something? Are you implying that the ka-50 can carry troops? :wassat: ...Because it can't. ....You know that. .....You do don't you? :glare: ........Because if you don't then you're in the wrong forum, dude...
  19. No, BS doesn't take advantage of sli or multicore processors. Maybe when they do the new engine, but until then...
  20. Wow. Never realized that there were that many online squads.
  21. I've searched everywhere I could think of and no answers could I find, so here it goes: 1)Will campaigns be playable cooperatively online in BS? 2)If not, is this planned for future releases of DCS? 3)Has the mission editor been "edited" to allow multiple clients in a single flight? And another one I just thought of but haven't searched for, so feel free to be mad if it's already been answered: 4) Will the player be able to point his/her shkval targeting system at a specific point on the ground using global 8-digit grid coordinates via the abris or INS? 5) If so, will the player also be allowed to input elevation data on the specific point he/she wishes to target? (ie: target is at a specific grid coordinate and a specific elevation above msl)
