  1. Hiya, Shahdoh is working on a new course but it needs some coding work to allow multiple aircraft to go through the course at once. Its a WIP at the moment, although we have flown the path of the new course a couple of times. The Tbilisi course is finished but its only really viable for Mustangs which obviously limits our pilots so we have elected not to put that on the server. As the server is mainly for aerobatics with the course as a side event we cant have 2 courses on the server at the same time. As it simply provides too many messages etc on the server. Pman
  2. For what its worth here is my experience, although its all based on flying formation aerobatics. For loops, Rolls etc Max constant (45", 2700rpm) is used all the time, when travelling its usually 2400rpm and 35" of pressure. For landing if you observe standard circuit patterns its quite easy to get the speed down in time, Mine is normally something like this Assuming Im running on runway heading at circa 320mph, Set throttle and RPM to 2400RPM and 35", pull up and break right 90degrees, then start downwind leg, half way through down wind speed should be dropping between 180-220 after the climb out for the break. Drop flaps all the way and drop the landing gear, this will both increase lift and slow the aircraft down further, open the coolers and the rads to cool the engine. Turn base as you go past the threshold, then do a relatively steep turn in for finals keeping an eye on the airspeed as its easy to drop below 100knts. Bank in for touch down around 90-110knts. hth
  3. oh nice Dell, I will watch that keenly later :D Dr, if you send me a pm with the email / user name you want to use I will look into it Pman
  4. look forward to seeing you there mate ;) Ya know where I am if you need me :)
  5. Hiya, Handling the Mustang is an art that takes time to master, it really is a different beast to the other aircraft. Come join us in the Virtual Aerobatics server, especially helpful if you can be in teamspeak as it makes it easier for us to help you I dont fly combat in it as the game is simply too simple in combat terms (P51 vs P51 is just boring) but that said I do alot of aerobatics and generally dont have a problem with the correct settings and technique Pman
  6. Our new server I meant, we migrated it to the dedicated server rack last night Pman
  7. Ah nice, worth bearing in mind thank you :) Have you tried the new server yet? Pman
  8. Ah great thats excellent news Feedback from the pilots I have spoken to so far is all positive about the server relocation This might mean I get chance to do some work on my blog now :p Pman
  9. Hi Guys, We have done aload of testing this evening and it was all very positive! I have put the server back up and would love to hear some feedback from people! To the guys who were just outside our ping limit our testers have all reported lower pings so please try again and see how you get on Regards Pman
  10. Hiya Yeah thats why we had to be careful about where we did it, and luckily I had a friend who could get me some hardware connected to a server rack which helped us out alot. The dedi we are working on is a 3.5ghz dual core with HT, 8gb ram, dual 1tb hdd's. The dcs software is a challenge to get running cleanly at the best of times, never mind on Windows Server. Our home tariff's here are very limited and the upload is alot lower as well. So this was our only viable option. We have removed the 3d render which means that the GPU really doesnt matter too much. I have flown on the test edition of this and we have conducted a few more tests during the day, all being well I plan on a single test tonight then it will be live shortly after :) Your support is appreciated mate :) Pman
  11. Hi Guys Please see this post : http://www.virtual-aerobatics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=247 This may effect you guys just outside our ping limit Pman
  12. Hi Guys, Sorry we have tried it, maybe if ED someday cleans up their networking code, but at the moment its not feasible and not fair to our other pilots Regards Pman
  13. Hi Midnight, Thank you for your interest in our server, sadly we have experimented with a ping of 300 in the past and it has a detrimental effect on the other pilots on our server. So for the foreseeable future it will stay at 250 Regards Pman
  14. Such a great time mate, makes mine look really bad lol I need to find more time for the course! Many congratz!

    Israeli Server

Ah makes sense, ours all spawn cold start so that bug didnt appear
  16. Good News Guys, I have put the server back up :D I have put the first edition of the new map on there as well, I am aware there are a couple of things that need changing and fixing but its the first edition so bear with me :D The server will go down very shortly tomorrow as we move the server machine back into the right corner of the office, but it shouldnt be more then half hour Thanks for your patience during our down time, We are thankful that it all appears to have gone well and look forward to flying with you guys again soon! Pman
  17. I mean I will be watching you like a hawk to pinch your secrets ;) We had the server up for a time last night for the public to test it and all bar 1 issue it looks like we are almost done and on course for the server to be back online for the weekend! Pman
  18. Thats an insane time Dell, I need to watch you for tips! We have one you know about ;) Plus some P51 skins that we havent used on the server before as well as a Huey skin being worked on by one our own pilots :) Just to mix things up abit :D Pman
  19. Have no fear mate, in a couple of days it will be back online and I look forward to welcoming people back to the server. Few details about the new mission: Carriers now have a route, so land on them if you can but it will be a moving target this time 10+ New P51 skins we have not had on the server before 2 New Huey skins We have doubled the amount of Huey's available! A New race course is on the way Plus a few other things that I have changed and mixed up abit :D I can confirm that every airbase we have aircraft at now was previously un-inhabited and vice versa. Something new for all of our pilots to enjoy! Pman
  20. Oh by the way, any Pilots from our server going to the May show at Duxford in 10 days? Pman
  21. Thought I would give you a small update. Last night myself and Shahdoh managed to complete a small live test of the server on the new line and networking and it worked well. We have some things to do including working on our new location on the map. We finished this at 2am UK time last night and it will be another late one tonight! The race track wont be ready for the re-launch however as I am sure you are as keen as I am to get flying again we will launch the server without the new track and update the server when its ready Till then Pman
  22. Hi Pikey, Its great that you have put so much thought into the server, I should be able to answer some of your points, some of which I Shahdoh will need to elaborate on a little. We have sponsorship deals in the works for the server however due to commercial discussions I cant go any further with that for the moment. One of the problems that we have is multiple aircraft tracking and we have had 3 people working on it on and off for a few weeks, we think progress has been made so that multiple aircraft can be tracked at once are viable. The new course is likely to be a land based one with special consideration given to a vertical element, this was something Shahdoh and I had already discussed. I dont want to give too much away ;) We are limiting the server to only running one course at a time, Our server is primarily aimed at formation aerobatics and although we are very pleased to have a permanent race track on the missions we cant have more then one at a time. Regarding exporting the results, it a little more complicated then that as the server resets every 6 hours so that the mission is always running during day light hours, when we first set the server up we had it on never ending which just meant that people ended up trying to fly at night! As I said above when our primary focus is formation work flying at night isnt helpful :p I dont think the times for the course are logged anywhere, I will look into it but I cant make any promises A Document about the course is a good idea and I will look into it :) As for the models of the gates etc, if there are any modellers who would like to help out with that then by all means contact me and we can talk :) All help in that department is welcomed :D In the previous map all the aircraft had a prefix --- SO for Sochi, Ga for Gudata, Team for Race track etc... We will be doing the same for the new mission although the location has changed ;) We talked about hot starts briefly last time we gathered the admins together, we decided that although we are not strict with things like ATC we want to keep it so that people have to start the aircraft themselves, I would argue that having to actually start your plane actually deepens the immersion for our pilots rather then a ready to fly aircraft. The obvious exception will be the Airstart aircraft for the race. Hope that helps Pman
  23. Already been done, this about our 4th release since the last patch Ah that may be more like it
  24. That sounds really good Chris, we very much appreciate your support
  25. Lol, when was this? P.s I watch our forum much more then these ones
