Just to add a point here, Dan wasnt commenting on the effectiveness of the rudder per say, more like how little physical movement it takes to move the rudder a large amount. Something more akin to calibration of the rudder pedals then the effectiveness of the control surface. I do know what you mean tho having got some flight time myself in Warrior 2's, Super Cubs and an Extra 300L Pman

Sith is right, This isnt about previous projects, that said I would be cautious about any project I am asked to invest in where I havent seen at least proof of concept (which I though was a requirement to be announced as a 3rd party by ED for DCS?) Pman

Your right, I noticed that as well

That is the point tho, this Kick starter is entirely about marketing and public relations. There is nothing else to go on yet is there? that's the point.... I find it very hard to believe after speaking to the varying 3rd parties that I do that there isnt some renders by an artist or something somewhere. If there isnt then they have a massive task to build 3+ DCS level aircraft within a year and get them to beta at least by September 2014 If they really are that far in its infancy then I have my doubts about the timeline for delivery. As I said I actually met Ilya at Flying Legends in July and was very impressed with his obvious passion and enthusiasm for this project. At the moment we are going on goodwill, I have nothing against the project, far from it. I would love to see it succeed massively. But for anykind of financial commitment there has to be some give and take. Up till now we havent see much to backup the project is all I am saying. I'd be willing to bet that if some renders of actual aircraft, or tanks or whatever appeared on the kick starter people would actually start to believe in the potential for this. You're right in that Ilya has said that the project is early on, and people will take that into account when looking at their work so far, but without something $375k is alot to ask for, never mind $1m

Chaos you yourself are acting like a "whining baby" I was fully behind this and very impressed when I learnt the details of it at legends. However the execution of it has been poor. considering there is say 1200 backers and we are at best 200k short of the first stretch goal it would take a monumental effort to convince everyone to more than double their existing offers I personally will up mine if we start seeing some actual product, at the moment all we have seen is a bit of terrain which doesnt interest me. Show me a render of the P47 cockpit or the external model of the 109 and I will start to be more convinced. But to be honest I think the stretch goals were always exactly that, I could imagine when this project started getting 150-200k but I couldn't ever imagine it hitting $1m that was just crazy. Don't get me wrong should renders of ilya's work actually start showing up then I will bang the war drums and get VA to support it. But till then I'm not going to bust my gut for it. It will fund anyway at the base $100k

my 2cents: I have done a small pledge with RRG, until I actually see something from them I wont up it as I simply havent seen anything they have done yet bar a couple of rough screens from their map. All the other screen shots are other peoples work and not thiers No renders of aircraft or anything yet and as it doesnt look like we will hit the stretch goals all my pledge is getting me is beta access, well tbh I am not that fussed about that. I am more likely to get the premium BoS pack as there is actually stuff for me to see and evaluate there, where as here its abit of a blind ball. Dont get me wrong I'm hoping Ilya is going to do a good job, but at the moment I havent seen enough to make me want to part with more then $10 Pman

I spoke to Yo-Yo at Duxford last week and he confirmed that they havent done anything to the stang for a number of months and have no plans to change the fm Some aspects of the engine are being looked at though I am sure he will be along shortly to confirm :) Pman
-
Wouldnt put money on that. From what I have been told there will be a good number of aircraft released by ED over the coming months, some of which will surprise you all Exciting times ahead!

It is appreciated :) Nice to know you have some theories :) Pman

hehe, nothing we arent already used to lol Pman

Not too mention that 4 of the 3rd party Dev's use server versions of windows for making their modules... There is nothing wrong with the OS, its just the sim having issues that need attending too. P.s There is a dedi hosting bit of kit coming with edge but thats still a year away

funny that it didnt crash in 1.2.4 DCS doesnt work in server 2008, but has always been fine in server 2012 and unless you have a better suggestion for how to host the busiest server in DCS I am all ears.....
-
Well all applied and crashing non stop. Here is hoping you find a fix Fast

Im the same as ENO, My server is just an install of DCSW with nothing else on there bar team viewer and an ftp programme. running on windows server 2012

Ive updated my mission to turn them all off and put it back up again, its a friggin nightmare at the moment. Will see how it goes now. I am so close to just closing the whole thing down and not bothering with any of it Pman

I had civvie traffic with the box unchecked with the scenes doing the same and it made no difference. Have you noticed a notable improvement in stability?
-
The scenes ones you mean?

Sadly removing all the coding and scripting has had no effect, its still crashing more then a drunk driver

Can I still use BS 1 from D2D GameFly with the BS 2 Upgrade?
Pman replied to Bucic's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Yes it should still work providing you have a copy of bs1 to install in the first place. With the upgrade you need to have bs1 installed and activated before you can install the bs2 module into dcs world. As for steam no, you need to purchase the entire module again @ $49.99 I think it is on steam. You cant use any upgrade bs2 version in steam. Pman -
I have removed every single script from the VA server except servman3 and it crashed once overnight I am informed. I will monitor throughout the day and see how it goes. Do you think its worth removing the Mi-8 to try? Pman
-
I use a pair of EVGA 670 FTW's and mine automatically select the BS1 SLI profile and I get around 60-70 fps at all times bar a massive set of cluster bombs or uber low level flying in towns when it goes to 45-50 Pman

DCS World upgrade 1.2.6 where is my trees and Bushes
Pman replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I think there is a bug with online missions atm. I had it set to client preference but it forced them off for players on the VA server. Which server are you on and can you confirm if they have it set to client preference? Pman -
Dont worry, it was not taken in a bad way :) Pman

We had just as many issues in 1.2.5 and if we roll back it means that our pilots cant play on other servers or fly the Mi-8 I would rather try and work through the problems and get back to the stability we had in 1.2.4 if at all possible. I have noticed that the RAM usage is MUCH MUCH lower with 1.2.6 its down to like 2gb on our server now, impressive. I do run with render off as well for the record. There are some albeit small private servers running for like 60 hours so it is possible, but we need to get it sorted sooner rather then later. Pman

I will have all the scripts removed and the race coure removed to test it over the next few days Pete
