  1. I had to use this on my local client, I spent 2 hours fiddling about with this on release night This was the problem we had with the Virtual Aerobatics server, deleting the config folder from within the mission solved it for our pilots Correct
  2. Hey Guys, The server has now been updated and despite a small problem its now up and running again :) Was great to see 22 people online last night enjoying some of the new features of 1.2.4! We have added more Hueys and Mustangs as people seem to love these aircraft :) Its a bank holiday in the UK this weekend Ladies and Gents, Wonder how many people we can get together? Lets Fly :pilotfly: Pman
  3. Pman

    ping limit

Hi Xcom, We use a slightly modified servman on our server, and we enforce a 250ms ping limit on the server with no issues Pman
  4. Just want to add my support to this project, Ive used the sounds for a while now and they really are great. DCS wouldnt be the same without them
  5. Its not a full simulator, its a model for a simulator. There is a difference. Well thats only because they changed it. Either way I stick to my earlier made point that its expensive for an add on. Glad one of the modules finally got released though
  6. indeed RIP, local reports indicate it was the Red Barron Triplane
  7. Thanks Guys, As Rock said we do it out of a love of the sim and the community that comes together for this Look forward to seeing you in the server soon! Pman
  8. i7 3770k - 3.4ghz stock, mine sits at 5.15ghz when I bench it
  9. RIP Jim, Known you for many years and it is a sad day. Rest in peace and smooth flights my friend. Pman
  10. My experience with SLI is that the frame rate stays the same but the workload is just split between the cars Before anyone says it yes framesync is off
  11. Wont work with all versions of windows, if you brought one of the early W7 builds keys were exclusive to 32bit or 64bit Plus there is the option that his hardware might not be 64 bit enabled
  12. It really depends on what your trying to do. But if you want serious squad combat then you need a clan/squadron. Without that you will struggle as the bulk of players dont want to do simpits etc with their gaming. Good Luck, Hope you find what your looking for, but it wouldnt be practical to enforce such things on public servers, if that happened rather then all the servers you see now you may get 3 Pman
  13. This just goes to show you that 99.9% of games at points require port forwarding. It just so happens that Arma3 uses Gamespy and handles it for you Tbh you should just stop playing with things you dont understand or are not willing to understand, I am sure Arma 3 will welcome you back with kitten gloved hands. 14. See above for responses, but tbh you should just take flybyn00bs help, thank him and be thankful that someone wants to help you
  15. This just goes to prove that you havent been around PC online gaming for long then :megalol: You can reject it as much as you like, really makes no difference. You want to get it working then configure your firewall correctly. Believe it or not yes it really is quite simple, as for your Mum I have no idea of her skill level with IT so it would be impossible to say, My Mother and Father are both capable of following simple instructions so I have no doubt they could do it Not too mention that if every program that installed on my PC changed my firewall settings it wouldnt be very secure now would it? Really think about what you say before you say it
  16. Firstly, I am not the first in this thread to note that you have been rude and arrogant of your issues. Second, Your knowledge base is obviously limited as this is in general a simple issue to fix that normally takes about 5-10 minutes. Third, you seem to be oblivious to the fact that alot of other games and programmes require ports to be open to function correctly, however I suspect that you have had everything done for you in the past and the fact that you have to do something is a shock to you. Fourth, The code the ED uses is not new coding, but it is proven to work, how so? Well I run a very popular server for DCS and how many people out of the 200+ unique users who have used the server in the past month have contacted me about problems? Zero. Lastly, I generally go out of my way to help anyone who needs it, however your obvious reluctance to accept that the problem is with your computer/router. Your attitude towards people here and the sim in general depict that you are the type of person who if they cant get something working in 30 seconds then the toys go out of the window and nerdrage ensues. Good Luck to you, but I wont solve your problem for you.
  17. This post just goes to show your lack of understanding of network coding and the way the internet works in general. Using a random port is generally good practice, and FYI using gaming services like gamespy is A) not needed as the code works and B) costs money, they dont run a free service. The problem is 100% your home network and that fact that you cant see or understand that means that you will have little understanding of how to fix the issue. Lay the blame where it belongs. The networking code works fine, you just do not have your setup working correctly. I am sorry that not everything is done for you, but sometimes you will have to do some simple things yourself. Any half decent firewall within a hardware router will block 99% of what goes out, even a cheap old BT hub restricts some traffic. The fact that you do not know how to turn it off or route the traffic correctly doesnt mean the sim is at fault. The answer is simple, calm down, admit that the error is something for you to fix and read up about port forwarding. Take your ranting about networking code somewhere where people will sympathise with you as the people who frequent here would prob have helped you if you could have just admitted that you were stuck instead of blaming everything but you. Your rude attitude will win you no fans here and tbh learning to solve this yourself will probably be good for you Pman
  18. You strike me as a very arrogant person so take advise when it is offered to you. The sim is not the problem, it is you or your home network. The game works fine, Dedicated servers with abit of work have few problems. There are a large number of games which need exceptions made to the router firewalls as they use non standard ports when hosting a game. Its only when hosting games comes into the mix that it can be an issue. Even on an Xbox for example you can have issues if your router is setup incorrectly. I am not going to try and help you with this due to your arrogant attitude, but you can be in the knowledge that the problem lays with you and not the sim Pman
  19. Do able I guess, would need to be kept updated with new releases though, volunteering? :p
  20. That sounds like a great idea! Thats the spirit :D
  21. +1 I agree about the skin transfer, but that would only have to work the same way as it does now, if you have it you see it, if you dont then you dont
  22. rather predictably I agree with Rock. I think its use goes beyond our desire for it. If you have a generic CAS mission in say 12 months time there may be 7 different aircraft that we can use on such a mission. As Rock suggested in a PvP server its benefit would be to simply say F15's vs Su27's then swap to Migs Vs Typhoons without having to have a different map for each and every occasion
  23. I would have thought that was do able similar to the ME lookup when generating aircraft
  24. Custom skins could be an issue as the skins for DCS can be quite large >50mb in some cases so it would put a massive strain on server load
