Just to backup Rock here, We have discussed the situation and without some kind of change to the way aircraft are spawned in maps it will become very crowded very quickly. There must be a way to impliment this with an update to DCS:W where a database of available aircraft is searched when a player wants to spawn, the database would have to be created with the mission I guess so that the creator could exclude aircraft types as needed. Or as in our case they could just leave it open and players can pick whatever they need. But within about a year or so we will have at least another 5-6 aircraft that will need to be accommodated for which with this current system will be problematic. This is of course assuming that the issue Ells spotted of people needing the module to be installed to join a game is resolved, otherwise it may create a split between those with mod XYZ and those without it.

Just going to add my 2cents In running the virtual aerobatics server I have noticed a significant reduction in crashes since 1.2.3 came around. There was also a couple of issues with resource management which have been fixed as well. The problems are not gone though as we do suffer the odd crash, maybe 2-3 times a week now vs 3-4 a day. I have a 3770K @ 5ghz with 16gb of ram, a pair of GTX670's in SLI and 2x SSD's in raid 0 and I still get a 20fps dip when I go near that new smoke. My fps with everything maxed inc AA is normally 55-60 then I see smoke and I am down to mid 20's or something. The code is poorly optimised. Regards Peter

I wouldnt hold your breath re IRIS, When a dev has their section of the forum suspended for effectively doing nothing then I call the whole operation into doubt. Regardless of whatever PR spanky puts out there

Just to back Rock up really, we have all been hit by people doing fly bys or buzzing and sometimes shit does just happen, no harm no foul :) I tend to ignore the ATC as not everyone can speak good english and to be honest the past few weeks its not uncommon for us to have 20 pilots flying on the server. If I could turn it all off I think I would. Rock, the others and I work hard to try and make sure that people adhere to the rules on the VA server, Its not hard and kinda self explanatory. I am totally perplexed when I meet someone who says that they went into the Virtual Aerobatics server and thought it was a combat server...

I think calling it narrative driven would be a stretch :p More like 25 missions in increasing difficulty :p

Well, IRIS Were working on one, they have gone AWOL with no progress for months, their forum section removed. IRIS effectively stopped DCS work to work on FSX and as such I doubt we will ever see much from them

Your welcome, Wags did an interview and confirmed that these were "among" the aircraft being made at DCS level. I personally cant wait, but I would expect there to be a fair gap as they havent finished FC3 or CA yet Pman

Nah Wags did confirm there is a Fw190D, Mig 15 and a F86 in the making all DCS level

Well I for 1 am looking forward to 777's new game, as no one does combat like them. Yes P51 is the single best flight sim going, but its only one plane, and even when Fw190 is out its still very light on content for a combat flight simulator

You can come into the Virtual Aerobatics server, there are generally people around who can help you out :) I would recommend being able to do the basics, ie start the engine without auto start, take off and land ok then we can go from there :) There is normally people from VTA / VH / A&D plus others around Just a word though, all weapons are banned on our server :) Pman
