DCS Weather - Real time weather in your DCS World
Valium replied to chromium's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Cool mod, really cool! -
I talked to author of the first skin and I asked him about the same thing. He also said that I should check it, so I did as you wrote either. Unfortunately, it doesn't work well. I did it but tail numbers are red but nose numbers are still blue. The author said he would check it. After 2 days, he sent a message to me and he said it's impossible to do it because the structure of that file was changed.

There's one problem. Description.lua lines look different then in other standard skins. It doesn't look like this: livery = { {"su27_tex01", 0 ,"Su27_tex01",true}; {"su27_tex01", 3 ,"empty.tga",true}; {"su27_tex01_BN31", 0 ,"Su27_tex01",true}; {"su27_tex01_BN31", 3 ,"Su-27_numbers_red",true}; {"su27_tex01_BN32", 0 ,"Su27_tex01",true}; {"su27_tex01_BN32", 3 ,"Su-27_numbers_red",true}; {"su27_tex02", 0 ,"Su27_tex02",true}; {"su27_tex02_compos", 0 ,"Su27_tex02",true}; {"su27_tex03", 0 ,"Su27_tex03",true}; {"su27_tex03_compos", 0 ,"Su27_tex03",true}; {"su27_tex03_compos", 3 ,"Su-27_decol",true}; {"su27_tex04", 0 ,"Su27_tex04",true}; {"su27_tex04", 3 ,"Su-27_decol",true}; {"su27_tex05", 0 ,"Su27_tex05",true}; {"su27_tex05", 3 ,"Su-27_decol",true}; {"su27_tex06", 0 ,"Su27_tex06",true}; {"su27_tex06", 3 ,"Su-27_decol",true}; {"su27_tex07", 0 ,"Su27_tex07",true}; {"su27_nose_numbers", 0 ,"Su-27_numbers_red",true}; {"su27_tail_numbers", 0 ,"Su-27_numbers_red",true}; {"su27_tail_numbers_top", 0 ,"empty.tga",true}; {"su27_tail_numbers_down", 0 ,"empty.tga",true}; {"su27_detail", 0 ,"Su-27_detail",true}; {"su27_detail_compos", 0 ,"Su-27_detail",true}; } countries = {"RUS"} ... just like this: livery = { {"su27_tex01", 0 ,"su27_tex01_bodynose_TomW",false}; {"su27_tex01", 2 ,"su27_tex01_bodynose_TomW_spc.bmp",false}; {"su27_tex01", 3 ,"empty.tga",true}; {"su27_tex02", 0 ,"su27_tex02_bodyaft_TomW",false}; {"su27_tex02_compos", 2 ,"su27_tex02_bodyaft_TomW_spc.bmp",false}; {"su27_tex02_compos", 0 ,"su27_tex02_bodyaft_TomW",false}; {"su27_tex03", 0 ,"su27_tex03_wing_TomW",false}; {"su27_tex03_compos", 2 ,"su27_tex03_wing_TomW_spc.bmp",false}; {"su27_tex03_compos", 0 ,"su27_tex03_wing_TomW",false}; {"su27_tex03_compos", 3 ,"empty.tga",true}; {"su27_tex04", 0 ,"su27_tex04_wing_TomW",false}; {"su27_tex04", 2 ,"su27_tex04_wing_TomW_spc.bmp",false}; {"su27_tex04", 3 ,"empty.tga",true}; {"su27_tex05", 0 ,"su27_tex05_under_TomW",false}; {"su27_tex05", 2 ,"su27_tex05_under_TomW_spc.bmp",false}; {"su27_tex05", 3 ,"empty.tga",true}; {"su27_tex06", 0 ,"su27_tex06_tail_TomW",false}; {"su27_tex06", 2 ,"su27_tex06_tail_TomW_spc.bmp",false}; {"su27_tex06", 3 ,"empty.tga",true}; {"su27_tex07", 0 ,"Su27_tex07",false}; {"su27_nose_numbers", 0 ,"Su-27_numbers",true}; {"su27_tail_numbers", 0 ,"empty.tga",true}; {"su27_tail_numbers_top", 0 ,"Su-27_numbers",true}; } countries = {"RUS"}

Thank you, I'll check it soon but I've got one question at first. How to edit this file? I see I need a program to do this.
-
May I show what files are there. I don't where is the file which is responsbile for numbers' colour.
-
Hey guys. I need a help. I downloaded a few months ago the latest version of F-15E mod which was made by Henry Hell. I don't what's wrong with it but I suspect the author uploaded the wrong version of mod because it doesn't look like on the pictures which were there. There's also a huge problem because it's impossible to take off from runway because gears don't work. I can't talk to author so if somebody has got earlier ( proper ) version or want to try to repair it, please do it. Here's a mod ( the link is divided ) : http:// www. lockonfiles. com/topic/ 39197-f-15e-strike-eagle/

Malvinas/Falklands project
Valium replied to berserkcol's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I regret that there isn't any island on the Black Sea. -
I think you don't understand me. I asked some time ago how to edit skins and I did. I made my own skin for Su-27 and now I'd like to know if it's possible to make that number will be red. I'm using Paint.NET and I also have DXTBmp.
-
I'm using Paint.Net . I edited it and made my own skin but I just want to change numbers' color from blue to red like russian planes have.
-
Thanks guys, I did it. Now, I've got another question. Is there any chance to change numbers' colors? In this skin they're blue, I want to make them red.
-
Cool. Do you know the name of snow textures? They look cool too!
-
Wow, I've never seen something like this and I must admit this Mirage looks really, really good with there canards.
-
Mirage and canards?!
-
Any news?
-
I don't know if it depends on this mod or not. I used to play without it and I had problems to hit the plane but when I installed, I wouldn't have that problem. If you've got an idea, write about it instead of writing pointless.
-
Have you ever tried to use DCS Missile mod? I shot AIM-120C twice without tracking and guess what, AIM-120C tracked the plane and shot it down without myself.
-
Hi. I downloaded one of skins for Su-27, created by Tom Weiss. I'd like to open it and edit for my own but there's a problem because I can't open it. Do you know which program I should use to open it?
-
Hey. I downloaded and installed 'DCS Su-27 Mirgorod AFB Ukraine AF / Worn' skin for FC3 Su-27's model. I put the whole folder to Bazar/Liveries/Su-27 to add new skin, not to replace other one. I turned the game on and the new skin was added but I noticed that: 1) in further distances, skin is invisible ( there are colorful strips on plane ) 2) if I set 4 Su-27 with different skins on runway and one of them has got this new skin, other skins are edited ( I see wheel's textures on the wing, etc. ) How to install this correctly?
-
Oh wow, I didn't expect that. I'm going to check it.
-
I'd like to make a video how I fly Su-27 but I don't know which program is the best to use. I've Fraps installed but it records videos to 20 secounds only and to change it, I would have to pay over 30$. Any idea? To be honest, I see that everything is fine when I'm focused on thing I'm just doing. Can you explain me how auto-pilot excatly works? I only use these commends : Alt + 1 H Alt + 9 But I see there're also other combinations but I don't have enough knowledge to understand what they mean.
-
I saw this video once and I was wondering how it's possible this plane looks to be really stayable. I haven't know it's yours. So you've got 2-3 deadzone and +20 curves. I'll check it once again.
-
Good to know it but it seems to me that now all Su-27 have fly-by-wire. Once I read something about it.
-
I think I know the answer but tell me if I'm not right. I had many problems to fly Su-27 and I also used not to use trimming ( I was using 'trim reset' any time and I didn't know how to even use it ). My problems ended partly when I switched off Force Feedback ( I hope you mean Force Feedback when you wrote 'FF' ). I also changed deadzone and curves, and it was even playable but still got some problems like turning backs, etc. I was wondering for a long time what's wrong with that. I wrote what FF excatly is. I turned it on and the plane was harder to playable, I had to change joystick's settings but - guess what - it made this game more realistic. Ironhand helped me a lot and he explained me how to use trimming. Now I must admit it looks completly different than some time ago. My settings : deadzone - 10 curves - 25 - 30 Some people wrote that they'd other settings but I checked it and I prefer mine. It depends on joystick in my opinion. I've got Logitech Attack 3. Sorry for my English. I won't even wonder if it is incomprehensible.
-
Thanks for help man. I mean that I approached at 320 km/hr and I damaged gears but it was when gears touched the ground and it was because of the fact that the nose was too high. I saw one video on you tube from real Su-27. They usually give the gears down even at 420 km/hr.
-
I've got Logitech Attack 3 and I set dead zone on 10 and curve around 25. I checked what you'd written before. I began to trim the nose down and it works well but I've got a few questions to you about it. What's more, it solved my problem with using auto pilot. - when your airspeed is about 1000 kph, how many times you press the button which is responsible for trimming nose down and how HUD should look like ( I mean degrees )? - if I use trimming properly, how many degrees should be on HUD ( less than 0 / more than 0 / just 0 )? - if you use trimming, you still hold the joystick or you don't ? - let's suppose that the air speed is about 1100 kph ( without afternurning ) and the plane is trimmed well and suppose that I begin to go to the top suddenly ( my plane becomes to be slower - let's say 600 kph ) - do you trim the nose up at this moment or do nothing ? I'm asking about it because I did something like this a few times, I had still nose trimmed down, so I did nothing and my plane starts to fall instantly and that made my plane lay on its back and it was outta control. I checked trimming nose up - you wrote I should use it during landing. Well, I'm not sure if it's safety. I approached with 320 kph and I damaged gears. I imply to use 'trim reset' after set the gears and flaps down. Tell me if something's incomprehensible.
