  1. Thats the exact point, please ED, follow this thoughts, to bless us with a much better handling.
  2. Vertical Scan Please switch the vertical scan mode in the russian birds back to automatic! Its much more conveniant this way and according to the data read the real bird at least got the option. Even the name of the mode says how to best use it: "AUTO acquisition mode"
  3. Yeah, please please ED turn it back to automatically . Even the name of the mode says ist how to use ist best: "AUTO acquisition mode"
  4. Its right when You use the target lock function on the keyboaed with the Enter Key the VS switches to autolock and stays there even when You unlock a target. I yesterday purchased my CH Fighterstick and in the control options its recognized as such and there is a second target lock function in the controls for th fighter stick. But when I use my fighter stick button this autolock activation doens't work as such with the Enter key. I also tried to map the Enter key to the button but it didnt work. So please please switch the VS function back to autolock again! It's the most conveniant method to scan for targets. I dont want to held a pressed button all the time.
  5. (That was a question about the vertical field of view of the F-15 radar in degrees) That information would be quite useful for me too, to get an imagination (probably with the degree ladder on the hud as reference) how hughe the scan area really is. So when you know about where the enemy is or You last saw him You get a very much better SA. According to my calculations with the given elevation at a given TDC-range this vertical scan angle should be about 9 degrees. Could this be correct?
  6. But 10nm is quite a giant distance for A2A tactics as modelled in FC3. You easily can evade any russian missile on that distance using ground, notch, kinetics ect .... On that distance I get loads of players with the Eagles TWS as they notice the warning too late. The combination of TWS and AIM 120C seems unbeatable. Every guy who's flying directly into an eagle is a dead guy. Thats a fixed rule. But the main point here is not the quality of the missiles but the fact if they're ARH or not. Because I can do all these maneuvers while the SU27 driver has to wait for impact. But thats no very satisfying way to fight. I don't see this reliability problem with the R27ER either as I can have some good hits with it too in the rare cases I can guid it up to the target. And I don't like complaints either about this old fashioned missile should be as good as AIM120C, thats rubbish. But I think the SU just needs an ARH so it has a bit more tactical mobility. With the experts using ground monitains and eos its a diffrent story of course.
  7. The less advanced radar of the MIG-29S can do this. Wouldn't it be easy to have this feature installed on the SU-27 too?
  8. Maybe just the propaganda of America is the best after all ;-). But these are stoneold discussions. Sure it seems the Russian fighters seem more emotional to fly with a better feeling. But I try to keep it objectively. In my opinion with the 4 things: aerodynamics, eos, heaters and datalink the Su27 surely is the better plane, besides the more ergonomic cockpit anyway, but it seems in that decade the fighters from fc3 come from the russians didn't simply have the money to complete their brilliant ideas. Anyway the R27-ER in the game how it is now is ridiculous and nobody would use it in real if there are ANY alternatives.
  9. In the meantime I fly both birds the Su27 and F15 regularily in MP. As far as I can tell the AIM-120C really drastically outbalances the 27ER as far as You dont have any realistic chance of BVR-hits with them unless the target doesnt do anything about it and even doenst shoot back. This goes as far that I think that as a noob (I still am) You are litterally forced in taking the Eagle, as You can splash loads of average players even as a noob and even though I think the Su is quite the superior plane with both better avionics and better aerodynamics. For those I like flying the Su more. I think when You are an experienced and skilled pilot You still have anadvantage with the Su, as You have good SA with EOS and Datalink and the way better heaters so You can splash loads of Noobs who never know You were there. But as all I've read this whole it should be like this or like that thing doesnt make so much sense for a simulation with the purpose to make it as realistic it can be and regardless to the advantages of any side or any kind of balancing. But as I also read in many threads it should be pretty normal that a SAHR-27ER which seem to be an almost ancient missile is way inferior to a state-of-the-art modern Aim-120C. Perhaps it makes sense to give the russian side some hardware from that time of age such as Su27-SM which can carry ARH-77s as well. I don't quite understand why the russians have their state-of-the-art 77s in operation but their state-of-the-art plane Su27 can't carry them. That seems to be a weird situation. So I think Su27 should get a AHR too (as simple solution) to at least get a little bit of balance regarding bvr tactics. Only my opinion after all I've read.
  10. Yeah I know it works hitting BVR button or radar on/off, the point is here that the narrow azimuth settings of tws are still kept and I do want to have the wide radar zone (whole 120 deg) at once to get a quick overview again when I chose to disengage one target that probably went defensive. I think thats essential in an mp-environment with several opponents.
  11. For me I was seeking for a solution also to quick change a target in tws or get a quick overview again in lrs AFTER already having "bugged" a target. For me there are 2 ways to do so: Nr.1: "unlock" the current target and lock another or press tws again to go to lrs Nr. 2: (even quicker) press tws again then You find Yourself in stt. Then You can push the lrs-mode-button and You find Yourself there with the starting parameters of that mode. (disadvantage: the enemy you bugged before could get a short lock warning)
  12. Tanks alot for all the testers and developers for this whole LOT of work You get for a really cheap 40 bucks game! Just wanted to say this and really can't understand complaints facing a new update with many fixes! Sure I'm upset some time too when it takes long for a (seemingly) simple bug to fix but readying all the messages and seeing the whole LOT of work and the results being produced I think some times it's worth waiting! (Regarding there ist no equivalent to this project anyway!
  13. I must correct, sure You can unlock a target in TWS, but You have to have the TDS exacly over the target. And then pushing TWS-Button again Your are in LRS mode again. So no real quick way to do this with just 1 button. I do need this quite often, when I'm attaking a target in TWS, but there are some more in front and the attacked target turns away but 1 or 2 other stay offensive. And this ist real a common tactic with the russian birds.
  14. @ Night: Yeah I mostly get killed by this tactic on the 51st, mainly with 27ET. I also think thats the best strategy for the flanker in FC3. By the way, why the hell can't You carry 6 ETs with the Flanker, why do You have to choose 4 ERs in the middle 4 Slots? The geometry of this Weapons is almost the same. Is this also in RL? Whats the reason for this harsh restriction? I've tested the flanker several times on my own but for me the advantages with the eos stealth don't outbalance the general huge bvr disadvantage facing the eagle. Esp. regarding You can fly this low hide and seek tactic with the eagle as well. And I'm often enjoing, doing this when I'm not sure if I got a bvr hit. It isn't really stealthy but You can't find the eagle also when its hiding in deep valleys. And in addition the lock and launch with VS is really quick with the eagle. You get it in a second, know at once if friend or foe and with the great slammer range you mostly are in range immeditaly also. So when the enemy gets the lock warning in this case its mostly too late. For that reasons for the meantime I stay with the eagle. And @karambiatos: The question wasn't if you can see, IF a target ist jamming, but if the target shows up at all this way at RWR. Ok that should be the case. What kind of signal do you get the in the eagle, regarding it shows the type of aircraft. Is this also with a jamming signal? Or what kind of signal do You get then???
  15. Whats Your callsign in the game?? Besides (also Noob question), can You see jamming signals on RWR? I know You can see them on Your own radar (as line of dots) but can You also see the signal alone on RWR without having Your own radar on and without the enemy radar directly hitting You??
  16. By the way is there a quick and simple way to switch from the tws-mode of the f-15 to the normal lrs-mode after you already have locked a target? Unlock doesnt work with tws only a few seconds after lock. Selecting tws again to "unselect" it leads to stt anf after unlock to tws again. And just pushing the button for lrs again leads to lrs yes but with the narrow zone of the tws. Is there a way to do this with ONE button?
  17. You mean this with radar as chosen sensor I suppose. With IRST only activated I guess the range depends on target pursuit. But often I can get here locks via vertical scan at far longer ranges (close 50km). I wonder why this doesnt work with radar AND IRST activated. With this you only get the radar range and not the longer IRST range.
  18. Sure? It seems with only the IRST sensor active You can lock targets from the vertical scan at far longer Ranges (near 50km). With the radar sensor only this seems to be correct. But what really wonders me is if You activate BOTH sensors in vertical scan the lock rang is automatically downgraded to the radar lock range (of these meagre 5-6). Why isn´t the target here locked automatically with the sensor with the greater range (IRST)???
  19. I see I'm getting used to it. What works good for me ist this leveling along the runway just gliding idle engines and additional speedbrake. When I look after the nose doesnt get too high by stalling it normally is a very decent landing. But 1or2 times out of ten I still mess ist up. Keep on practicing :-)
  20. Ok, i see maybe its worth waiting then. But I really would appretiate an interims solution, so you have enough motivation returning to homebase after a battle. On the other hand Su27 came a bit more in handy for me lately ;-)
  21. Just tried some landings myself. Seems You have to be in an exact angle to the horizon and when you then touch down very very gentle, you have perhaps a 50 50 chance of success. I dont think its this noseweel thing. You doesnt have to touch with your nosewheel in the first place anyway. You remark it the first second of touchdown whether the gear sinks in or not. Anyway as I chose the F15 as favorite fighter that moment its ****IN anoying. Please fix that it seems not that difficult!
  22. I just testes it vs a really big bird, An50. And it seems that the scan zone of the gun radar is almost the same as in vertical. I locked and unlocked the An many times and from all angles an it alway locks in a very narrow zone from the hud center to about two lengths above it. Do I do something wrong? You just have to choose gun mode I suppose and radar on .....??
  23. Ah I see. P. 110 manual. In fact its 20 x 60 deg. As GGTharos said. Still enough :-)
