Does this mean changes to how aircraft are handled in the mission editor, changing the slot system ? If yes, this is great news. It has huge potential for mission designers. Resource pool of aircraft, instead of individual slots. Ability to pick loadouts, liveries, etcetera in the mission. Ability to load data cartridge.

  5. I know you love to argue for the sake of arguing and trying to be on top, but it doesn't matter. I suggesting a solution based on what we have currently as mechanics. Sure, you can blap on about how 3 shots of 57 would make a complete kill of an MBT and how a classic APHE round doesn't loose energy, all you want... won't make it more true.
  6. Because I want to have the same aircraft with two possible loadouts spawn in a shelter for realistic campaigns. As DCS currently has no on the go planning tool and you have to have everything predefined in the editor. Just have the damn doors stay open.

  8. Two shots of HE blowing up APCs ? Don't think so. You know the damage is overdone, when they don't even burn, they straight up blow up. At least it doesn't blow the APCs around the one you shoot anymore. 3 shots to the back side of an MBT kills it ? Yeah, nah. I agree that it should do damage... although this is APHE we are talking about here, not long-rod penetrators. I am fine with it doing damage to all these vehicles, but not killing them with such low amounts of shots. 2-5 HE rounds for lightly armored vehicles up to 8-12 AP rounds for MBTs sounds way more reasonable. It can kill an abrams in the side with 3 shots from 1KM away.
  9. Can confirm, attaching a track. These settings, you will be clara ship in close... can barely see the ship in external view, max zoom. All this, yet a CASE II... You won't even be allowed to land in a CASE III in these conditions, but yet.... (Hornet SC CASE II mission) CASE II in CASE III conditions 3.trk EDIT: Seems like this is already known and labeled as reported.
  10. As the title reads. You can get into situation where the carrier and surroundings are in CASE III conditions, but you will get a CASE II. With the inability for the carrier to dynamically switch CASEs after mission start, it can become a problem. Here, you can see that the weather is visibility under 1nm and a cloud layer under 800 feet, yet a CASE II is given. At first I thought this was due to the fact that the carrier spawns in a tiny pocket of clear weather, but then I switched weather presets from Overcast and Rain 3 to Overcast and Rain 2, which again spawns the carrier in a small, clear weather pocket, but this time a CASE III is given. CASE III Weather preset.trkCASE II in CASE III conditions 1.trkCASE II in CASE III conditions 2.trkAll this is regarding daytime ops. CASE III Weather preset is with Overcast and Rain 2, which does give CASE III, as it should. The other two tracks are with Overcast and Rain 3, which results in a CASE II in a CASE III conditions.
  11. I have replays of me flying a CASE III, where no matter what combination you try, you cannot bring the LSO station view. Hornet CASE III(8).trk Here is a track, you can use for a bug report. I could not enter LSO cam, while watching the track.

  13. Oh by the way, don't know if it is true, but while on a Syria mission last night, someone mentioned that the MiG-21 is bugged for Syria and crashes.... which might explain why no one was flying MiG-21s.
  14. This is not only limited to multicrew. If you are flying with another L-39 (ZA), when landing you will either see him sink in the ground or hover above the ground. I am talking about two different people, in two different planes.
  15. Sorry to bother you bud, but Fight Island just loaded and there are no ground vehicles on both teams, except one M1 on Blue. Red are yapping about some aircraft weapon not being available too
  16. A nice surprise having this fixed with 2.7, but now there is another problem.... How do you make the shelters open ? You can spawn inside, but you cannot get out

  18. @MAESTR0 Would it possible to make objects, which are already present on the Syria map, such as fences, barricades, towers, aircraft shelters, outpost, hesco barriers, sand mounts (like you would find around SAM launchers), etc. place-able static objects in the mission editor ? That would be a great addition to the core of DCS. Thank you.   19. As far as I've seen, missions on the CW server are all using static weather. You can tell by having wind shown in the briefing for 3 specific layers. This means that the QNH, for the whole map is 29.92, unless Alpen changes it to something else, but again... it would be static for the whole map. Knowing the altitude of your target and the local (or global in this case) QNH, you can work out what QFE you need to set. I don't fly the Viggen, but having weapons be employed using QFE is a bit weird. You will run out of options to set-up your QFE at a certain altitude and that has nothing to do with the weather system in DCS. I guess it makes more sense for places like Sweden, where you can only find more extreme heights on its west border with Norway @Snappy
  20. Maybe if the Assault force is still alive (If FARP captured and Assault Force killed = RED WIN ?) ? But overall... I can't see enough people being bothered to organize and recapture it. You would need at least 2 helicopters constantly flying in with units, first something to attack and capture it, then logistic units, or are there units which automatically spawn ? Not my favorite mission, if I may say so
  21. Can the Open Range mission be rotate ones the objectives are complete ? Especially when Blue has lost its FARP and its Assault Force
  22. I don't see how that is taking away from fun or dogfights, or how that would turn the sever into PvE
  23. From my experience flying on the mission, more aircraft is not the solution... the air quake will just intensify, while already being strong. There is a way to use the warehouse system to supply a base when it hits a certain amount of percent stock and you can decide on the time it takes for the supply to get there. You can use other airfields, or a hidden bunker somewhere, which is loaded with supplies and labeled as a supplier for the airfield. I've not personally used that feature, so I don't know how well it works if at all. But less jets, with periodic supplies could be a solution I guess. Would be nice to have some sort of an objective so that happens, but I cannot think of how that would work, as of right now.

  25. Heh... actually funny story that one. So, as seen in the video, as it hit the water it got me out of the vehicle and I thought to myself that it is dead. Next thing I see, it is still on the F10 map and I jumped back in. Ordered the "Autopilot" to swim to shore. As soon as it touched the sand, it got me into a F11 free camera over the jeep, as it just died and back to the F10 map. I again, see the unit on the map, but this time when I click on it, it says, that I cannot enter this vehicle, because it is dead... 1 second later, it disappears from the map for me. But wait, there is more... a plot twist. The vehicle is actually alive and only I could not see it... Count was still able to see it on the map and operate it. I later reconnected and could see it myself as well. I won't call this a bug, but a compensation from the game, for the 50+ stingers which were fired in that mission and all missed for no reason. Missile flies to a hovering helicopter or a plane flying in a straight line and last moment it just does a 90 degree turn. Really frustrating. Talking about this: At one point conker was in a turn fight with a huey. I fired 5 stingers at him, he was almost stationary in the air, no flares. Guess how many actually hit. Only one and from watching his stream it seemed like it did 0 damage. This happened with airplanes as well. That Mi-8 you saw me gun on the beach... I was chasing it beforehand and shot a stinger at it, side shot, no flares... missed.
