  1. Hey, do you have that problem during start up or as well on air starts? If it´s just during start up you might need to put the throttle out of the STOP position into idle. IIRC that was RALT+HOME by default.
  2. Is it possible to implement some kind of server message who/what killed someone. I was hovering, definitely behind cover of buildings and got killed by something. It was definitely no player, but without TacView there's no way to tell :/
  3. Das Problem hatte ich auch ziemlich lange. Seit ich meinen neuen Rechner habe und entsprechend die Grafikeinstellungen angepasst habe, sehe ich fast schon wie ein Adler :D Ich spiele aber auch "nur" auf der Full HD Auflösung, also 1920x1080.
  4. It's mentioned in the training mission and the manual. "...when set to the ALT mode, the left window shows the altitude in feet, while the right one shows it in meters."
  5. You need to move the pilot a little forward to better tell the position of that knob. Otherwise turn on the console lighting to illuminate the white point on the knob which also improves visibility ;)
  6. Well, it´s not a completely different process. The training mission only uses one step before the alignment process, the VEI mode, where the PCN (the big box where you can enter stuff) is powered up but the gyros remain off, so you can enter your data without accidentally starting the aligning process. Chuck turns the PCN directly into the ALIGN mode and only starts the process then by VAL. I don´t want to throw around the term RTFM but the training mission also recommends that a little cockpit overview and parts of the instruments should be known.:music_whistling: It´s part of the game to read a manual and sniff around the plane/helicopter before starting the trainings, in every modules training mission.
  7. Does anybody know the philosophy behind the fixed aar probes in French aircraft design? I mean the new Rafale also has a fixed probe, why?

At least none which the pilot can control. Maybe there can be some signals filtered out before being displayed to the pilot.
  9. Okay, I tried it myself: Flying 1.1 ATA for 1h15min under 1km with Auto governor on and radiators automatic. External temp was 25°C and all the pressures and temps of the plane stayed in the green. BUT, I got no stutters or what so ever. Engine worked like a charm and even after touchdown no probs at all. The only thing I noticed was that with auto gov and 1.1 ATA the rpm dropped to 1850 which looks a little low for my taste. Need to check the manual for the correct values for cruise.
  10. I'm not so sure about that. Since the Magnitude 3 hype train desaster I'm cautious riding along trains.

  12. Well, I'm sorry to disrupt some dreams but under a scenario called DCS:WWII EUROPE 1944-45 I doubt that there will be any carriers. They should finish what they intended and then maybe add another scenario.
  13. Thanks for the info saburo! I was starting to doubt my abilities after not being able to kill the tanks no matter where I placed the bomb. Is there a way to workaround with preset damage to the tanks?

  15. I just dropped a 500kg bomb directly beside a tank at mission 2 and the tank didn´t catch a scratch. Is that supposed to do that?

  17. Sorry but I never experienced the described behavior. When I do air start missions, also the Bf 109 campaign, the plane keeps flying in the preset condition until I touch any controls. What kind of joystick do you use? Did you check that there's no malicious axis? I once had a ghosting thrust axis which changed when moving the pitch. Just asking.
  18. For me air spawns and pure short paced dog fighting would kill the immersion and realism behind it. DCS for me is all about realism and immersion. So air spawn, getting shot down, spawn again shooting someone down, getting shot down again and spawn again would be too much like other simulations, that are complete focused around that playstyle. It's quite fulfilling to bomb some ground targets, getting chased and damaged by fighters and bring the plane home safe and sound. TL;DR: I don't need an air quake server. There are at least 3-4 WWII servers: Burning Skies, ACG WWII, Blue Flag Normandy and some other I saw but didn't join.
  19. Wow, that worked. I reinstalled the drivers and now it works. Sitting in Normandy on SP and MP, still long loading times but after that I'm able to fly. Thank you very much :)

  22. Hello, I also have the issue of crashing back to desktop as soon as I want to enter the Normandy map, no matter if singleplayer or multiplayer. Caucasus map works fine, no crashes so far, but no chance to get into Normandy:( Log is attached. dcs.log-20180521-085720.zip
  23. Why only Indian? :thumbup: The Russian Navy also bought some 29K to replace some of the Su-33. I would like to see a carrier based MiG-29 :D
  24. What has everybody with the "PAK-FA" term? It´s just the name of the program, not the plane. You also talk about the F-22 and not about the ATF (Advanced Tactical Fighter) program. So either call the plane T-50 (prototype designation) or Su-57 (VVS designation). Thanks:music_whistling:
  25. Did you check your controls? Is your stick definitely at center point? (RCTRL+ Enter) When you start an mission in air start your throttle is normally at full throttle, so it´s normal to raise the nose. During take off you´re also at full throttle which raises your nose. Also the 109 was taken off in a 3 point attitude to reduce the risks of imbalances due to the narrow undercarriage. Please don´t let this be another "It doesn´t feel right" thread without hard facts, sheets or graphs from actual 109´s and just some "feelings" how it should be based on expectations and experiences from other sims. We´re here in a situation where we are dependend on facts and data collected by ED and put into this awesome flight model we´re enjoying. Don´t ask to adapt the flight model to your flight style. Adapt your flight style to the model and deal with it.
