  1. Precisely! Since the F-86 is not "front line" yet, it is Beta. Alpha would be "front line".
  2. Gotta' love the French They can put an erotic twist on flushing a toilet:lol:
  3. You can wait! Can't have too many Beta Testers:pilotfly:. As history has shown, try as they may to squash EVERY bug in these complex flight sims, there are usually a few that still get through and are found "in the mainstream":joystick:. The fact that we got the F-86 early (beta) meant that it was not yet fully flushed out and those that acquired it should have been aware of that reality. Like Sith said, don't want to participate in helping fine tuning a sim module, simply wait until it is released "Alpha". But even then it is unrealistic to think that there will not still be some customers who will take issue with the accuracy of some aspects. That's the world today, everyone is a critic.:music_whistling:
  4. Geez, now I have to wipe the drool off my keyboard:D
  5. Thanks I thought I had read that somewhere on these forums but couldn't find anything using the "Search" option. New system: i-5 Devils Canyon 4690K ASUS Z-97 MB 16MB G-Skill DDR3 1866 Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler Corsair AX1200i PSU' ASUS 780GTX X2 in SLI and will be moving my current storage over from the old system; Samsung SSD 500GB Hard Drive Should do the job until we find out what EDGE demands will be. May have to adjust from that point.
  6. Am in the process of building my new system and it came to my mind that I might need to deactivate DCSW before I move the hard drives over that the operating system and DCSW are each installed on. Am I correct that ED (DCSW) is protected to the point that if one replaces major components that it requires a new activation for the new system. Thanks for any direction and I apologize if I placed this on the wrong forum.
  7. Great job! It is appreciated.
  8. I've simply reverted to the "fixed" sight and try to get adequate at lead shooting. It works as well as the "jumping" sight.
  9. Good Job! Don't let any criticism bother you. There are some real "Chuck Yeagers" flying these modules. My time in the Air Wing of the USMC I always heard the pilots imply that "any landing where you don't break something and you walk away from the plane, is a good landing." :pilotfly:
  10. Doing it again after most recent update This thing appears very random. If I fly another module and then return to the Mig-21Bis it seems to crash in the "Take-off.miz". Once it has rebooted back to the main app. it works fine. Perhaps you can make some sense of it. I hope the .zip file of the logs comes thru Okay. Not good at these computer things beyond the basics. PS: Thanks for a great module. me.zip
  11. They both worked for me. As a matter of fact, when I had the "skins" in both locations, they actually appeared twice in the "Livery" selection page of the Mission Editor. I simply deleted all those in the CoreMods folder and now simply have one of each to choose from.
  12. I have an issue with this option. If I elect the "Landing Seat adjustment" in the options, things work as advertised. But if I de-select it, the flaps do not raise or lower on the plane when in outside view or looking at the wings from the cockpit view. The flaps lever animation works and the assignmnet in "Controls" all show it working, but it definately does not visually. So, I fly with the "Landing Seat adjustment"" option selected. Belsimtek or DCS might want to check this out.
  13. My appreciation! Zerver Thanks for providing that, it will work until I can find the "manual" Bunyap was using. In his videos it seemed those kneeboard pages were fairly easy to read. I tried converting pages from the manual that came with the sim, but they were "un-readable".The pursuit goes on. Again, thanks for adressing my request.
  14. Bunyap, Looking at your videos you are using a "quick Reference" kneeboard during starts and other procedures. Mind directing me as to how I can get that installed in the Mig-21bis kneeboard in the sim. I'm not that computer literate so apprecate simplicity:music_whistling:
  15. You guys keep on re-setting the bar for developers. Just chiming in here to show my gratitude as well. To be honest, you will most likely have squashed ALL the bugs before I am even done learning most of the details of this aircraft that are contained in the excellent manual. Will I be able to get some sort of college degree for having spent a semester reading that manual?:music_whistling:
  16. Hey, I send my thanks to you both. Without you guys I wouldn't NEVER have been able to figure out the "fix" by myself.
  17. Okay, I just ran that same mission again, the fourth time, and it worked fine. So much for the third time being the charm.
  18. Tried the takeoff mission, and once airborne, I get a "DCS Has Stopped Working" message and the sim boots back to the start screen. I did the "freeflight" mission and had no issues, just with this "take-off" mission. Any thoughts as to where I might look to correct the problem? Thanks
  19. I turned off the "raise Seat " feature in the OPTIONS - special tab and now the flaps do not extend. The lever in the cockpit moves in relation to my "Flaps" switch on my WartHog throttle, and it shows correctly assigned in the Controls screen. But when I lower the flaps and look outside they are still up. I went back in the OPTIONS screen and selected the "raise seat" feature and they worked again. Any way to get the flaps to work if the "raise seat" feature is NOT selected? Thanks.
  20. I have the same thing Skull. Even get the new emblems overlayed the old ones. I am clueless how to fix this.
  21. So that's it. Didn't know that little tidbit. It is still a great bargain regardless of it's origins.
  22. Whoa! $11.99 for the A-10C? For those that don't have it, this is probably the best deal you will ever get on a high quality flight model/sim. I haven't a clue whether ED ever got their investment back on that module, since it must have cost a ton to produce, but those that don't have it presently should jump on this!
  23. Depends I have carpeting under my flight sim desk so I mounted the Crosswinds to a piece of 1/4inch plywood cut to fit in the foot space under the desk. I figured since the real ones in aircraft are rigidly affixed, I would do the same. They now of course do not move the least from where I have them placed. I replaced my Saiteks (which worked okay) with the Crosswinds because the Saiteks just simply felt "cheap" in light of my other controllers, ie. WartHog and Thrustmaster F-16 Cougar. Every person might feel differently regarding their controllers. Our respective view of "immersion" is probably varied. To each their own.
  24. Yeah, there at the high end when it comes to rudder pedals, but once you have them, you won't remember how much you laid out for them, just how great they are. It's when you have something you have to give very little thought to that you know you have hit that "sweet spot". The Crosswinds are like that. Once you are using them, it almost seems natural to move your feet in both steering and braking without even thinking about it. They simply work.
  25. If you let go of the $$$$ to get a WartHog setup, then by all means give the Crosswinds a strong consideration. I've had mine for months now and think they compliment the higher end controls systems very well. I know it is hard for a lot of folks to invest in the higher end stuff as after all these are only "sims" that we fly in, but if this is really your niche', then high end equipment makes a world of difference. I've been at this since the mid-90's and tried about every level of controllers and the old adage of "you get what you pay for" rings very true. But do remember, there is ALWAYS the chance you get one of the sets that fell through the cracks when it came to the quality control checks. I've not heard of any reports of a negative vein regarding the Crosswinds, and if there were any, I'm certain Milan (MFG) would be all over it to get you satisfied.
