  1. I reckon when 1.2.8 goes final... Probably another month or so.
  2. Thanks for the video otto - looks like you need a little more work on the landing! Can't wait until I get home on Sunday so I can actually fly it. Little video request in the meantime - can someone do a nice, slow landing then an high alpha slow pass and kick the rudder? I want to see how this baby stalls and sits on its tail!
  3. Anyone report back on the F-15 AFM? I'm at work so have to live vicariously through you guys!
  4. Son of a... I've been sat around all week doing nothing and now I'm going away for 3 days! Y u do dis ED?
  5. Finally found what I wanted do with my life at the age of 25, after failing my A-Levels and working in dead end jobs for a few years. I'm now 27, half way to getting my private pilots licence and still living at home and working the dead end job to pay for it. The dream is to be a commercial pilot but I don't know if I'll ever make it to be honest. Military flying was never an option with my eyesight though. I'm just above the civilian requirements to fly without glasses but nowhere near 20/20.
  6. Hoping for a video update soon!
  7. Just send my cheque in the post ;)
  8. April fools day unfortunately.
  9. Looking forward to being a back seater during one of your routines Pman! This would make an awesome airshow demo if you attached an oculus rift and recorded the mission track + team speak audio...
  10. But it has less glide range than maybe even the paveway ll when it should have nearly twice as much...
  11. What I'm saying is couldn't the Mk82 AFM just be tweaked to approximate a GBU-38? As it is currently, the JDAM's are massively hampered by their terrible performance. Even adjusting the terminal velocity of the GBU-38's SFM to 500 knots would be a satisfactory fix from my point of view. Just found this quote by Yo-Yo in another thread that has confused me even more... This is a quote from another source: "Compared to the primitive analogue guidance in a baseline Paveway II, the JDAM achieves close to twice the glide range under similar launch conditions." This is certainly not true for DCS, where trying to use a JDAM as a standoff weapon is tantamount to suicide.
  12. Aww, I was really hoping for multi crew. Been excited about that since DCS Huey was announced and said to be including it in a future release.
  13. +1 I've been guilty of some rash remarks as well but this is a solid point. Thanks for saving the MiG-21 Leatherneck.
  14. Go straight to flash because you need the APU running to power the lights in the first place. You should also do the briefing before you're in the pit really. These should help you out a lot: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=29
  15. No, that doesn't look like the same issue I'm having. It's specific to water and the hud. I'm assuming it's something to do with shaders. Hopefully EDGE will fix it.
  16. I think officially it's two, but we won't be seeing any news on the DCS hornet until at least summer according to Wags. As for Cortex, that's anyone's guess.
  17. Isn't it update o clock yet? Must have been a month or so since we had any news on the EDGE front...
  18. 've noticed long, parallel shading lines over water that change direction depending on where you're looking. This is with a GTX 770, water and all other settings at high. Didn't get a screenshot but have seen it several times since updating. I have also experienced a bright purple/red flash very occasionally on the HUD in several aircraft since updating drivers.
  19. Looking forward to the new F-15 AFM! Over a year in the making now, must be good...
  20. And you can't get any more realistic than that! The flashing lights say "look out, I'm here and I'm either about to start up or my engines are already running" and the strobes and landing light let other aircraft know you're on the runway.
  21. In the 476th we do: Before startup: position lights - flash Taxi: Taxi light on if dark, pilot discretion during day Entering runway: landing light on, anti collision on, position lights steady. Night: formation lights on at startup and throughout I also do a bit of general aviation flying and follow very similar procedures. In general, the landing light and strobes only go on when entering the runway.
  22. After trawling through the bugs section it has become apparent that a lot of 'bugs' aren't actually bugs at all. When it has been established that someone is "doing it wrong" it might be an idea to move the post to an appropriate section. It could also funtion as a tutorial section for others who might be having the same problem. Thoughts?
  23. No no no no no!!!
  24. Great news! At last, something to get excited about.
  25. I heard they lost it all and had to start over again... :music_whistling:
