  1. Such a shame that idiots ruin it for the rest!
  2. The one thing that worries me about the Mig-21 is why put an announcement out stating that it will absolutely be released in the last week of March, then a week later say that the whole project could be shelved? Even if the team is back on track, I would like to know if this 'absolute' release date still stands?
  3. They are terrible! Flying online last night, lead dropped a GBU-38 and I dropped a GBU-12 a few seconds later. My GBU-12 reached a terminal velocity of around 550 knots and impacted BEFORE the GBU-38 which was floating down at around 250 knots. Now, I know the aerodynamics for the GBU-38/31 use a simplified flight model but surely they could be improved? It can mean the difference between your bomb hitting a Stela or the Strela hitting you before the slow ass, gravity defying bomb reaches its target.
  4. Now I'm excited again... Hopefully I'll be able to stage my very own 'Have Doughnut' over the skies of Nevada Soon
  5. Apparently buying flaming cliffs for $39.99 while it was still in Beta doesn't qualify as full price :( Now I'm paying the price for being a cheapskate. All my DCS purchases were in the sales!
  6. It depends on what resolution you're playing at but like I said, I wouldn't go slower than a GTX 680. Go for a 770, 780, 780Ti or Titan depending on your budget. Here in the UK you can get a 770 for ~£240, a 780 for ~£360, a 780Ti for ~£520 or a Titan for ~£800. 2GB is fine for 1080p. 3GB for 1440p and 4-6GB will be fine for 4k, although you'd probably need to go SLI to get good frame rates at that resolution.
  7. I'd say go for a GTX 680 or above. Got my 770 for £215.99 which is a great price. The only slight worry I have is that it's the 2GB version. The 4GB ones were £300+ but then you're getting close to 780 prices. For 1920x1080 though a 770 will be fine.
  8. Your RPM was probably too low for your manifold pressure. Running low RPM high manifold is a sure fire way to ruin your engine. Carb icing is not modeled.
  9. I'd say get online and find someone to teach you. I learned 10x more from flying with more knowledgeable pilots than just from reading the manual alone.
  10. Thanks for taking the time to prove what most of us were already saying Viper. I appreciate hard data much more than the "I have X number of hours flying X aircraft so I know everything" rubbish that expert was chatting.
  11. I think expert is just trolling. Maybe he actually believes what he's saying but somehow I doubt it. I'll test when I get home and put this thread to rest.
  12. I also read that the mirage 3 was front heavy due to the need for static stability. The greatly affected its manoeuvrability. The M2000 shifted the entire COG aft because the FBW system could constantly keep in within controlled flight parameters while being inherently unstable by design. This also allows it to achieve a much higher AoA while still being controllable.
  13. I thought the refuelling probe was a feature of all M2000's?

    Engines?

Looks like the Mirage will be done first. Not sure when the F-15 will see the light of day.
  15. Hmm... I wonder why nobody else has ever noticed any of these things. I think you might be imagining them expert.
  16. Can't say I noticed the sun affects IR missiles. Done plenty of tests in 1.2.7 also. I really hope someone from ED steps in here and corrects our resident expert...
  17. Can't wait for this and the MiG-21. I hope by the end of this year we will finally be able to dogfight in high fidelity fast jets. Throw in a consumer release of the oculus rift and I'll never leave the house again!
  18. Be interesting to see if you *could* land a M2000 on a carrier with the tail hook... I imagine you'd break the landing gear unless you had a very strong headwind and very little fuel/ordnance. This is why we need the hook in DCS! I love experimenting with things like this.
  19. Just seen this thread referenced in this one http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1998855#post1998855 and wondered if there was any hope of a fix yet?
  20. I bought a 2GB GTX 770 last month and run a pretty mild 4GHz OC on my 2500k with a coolermaster TX3 Evo cooler. I'm using a -0.60 voltage offset which gives me about 1.225v at load and temps of 66°C in prime. DCS is happily sitting at a locked 60fps most of the time but I can drag it down to 40 if I park at Krasnodar and look towards the city. That's with all the sliders to max.
  21. As much as I dislike Nvidia, I always end up buying their cards and have never had any problems. I just wish they'd throw in a bit more VRAM and be a bit more competitive on pricing. AMD might be great but after all the stories I've heard, I'd rather stick with the devil I know.
  22. I'd like to see some progress being made on Nevada. I get that there probably isn't much to show but it would be nice to get an update at least. Hope it isn't going to be as dissapointing as Duke Nukem Forever because it's taking almost as long!
  23. 30 pages of this s#!+ seriously??
  24. I'm rather excited for this one...
  25. I just hope this one doesn't get mothballed. Such a beautiful aircraft...
