  1. Are these still for sale Deadman?
  2. Wow - building a realistic simpit is expensive and unfortunately those USD prices converted to NZD prices is a small car here. I hope you get some orders Frank because you have done a great deal of work and the front panel looks real smart.
  3. Wow - that is looking extremely smart. Really like your simmeter instruments.
  4. PM sent, maybe interested
  5. Thanks MacFevre, I've contacted him to see if he will.
  6. Thanks Mulisha / Hans, Looking into it now. Just bought some items on ebay for the seat. The seat is going to be raised off the ground in a suspended state by rails attached to the back. Would be good to have the leg restraints as well. Certainly sucks up the money almost as bad dating does.
  7. So I've decided to do some work on a medium level fidelity pit after reading through all your amazing threads and posts. I particular like what Wasserfall has done with his SU27 pit (just fantastic). Plan of Attack Bought my very first Router and am building a pit that will sit on a platform and be modular as I am waiting ever so patiently for the FA-18C Ejection Seat I've started on a low fidelity copy of the MB Mk10 which is now off at the upholsters. If I like it, I'll do the plans and have it laser cut from aluminium. I'm looking to have the seat put on rails so it can be pushed in and out easily and perhaps have a backward firing ejection sequence. Side Consoles Have gone with a modified version of Dimebug's with a flat top. Metalnwood has been very kind to start making me some panels which I would like to eventually have some of them working (most to look good initially then add functionality later). MnW has offered me his CLP which I just couldn't say no to. I've got two iPad's that are running iControl which I hope to use in someway and of course the TM Warthog (have an extension being built currently). Front Panel Have decided on a modular system here, where I will have a cut-out the size of a 32" LED (using Helios) that can be swapped out depending on what aircraft you wish to fly. I have picked up Reactorone's Landing Gear Panel and it is really nice as it just isn't the same pressing G. Screen Just going with a 47" LED at present but a family friend makes the mirrors for the Cobra Simulation curved screens so I'm quite interested in seeing how that works once this is all built. Ideally though I would like to have a motion platform with 6DOF movement such as CKAS. Help! So here is where I get undone, being at the bottom of the world in NZ, I am struggling to find sources for: Knobs and switches etc that I will need (without paying an arm and a leg via open cockpits) Dzus fasteners and rails for the panels As well as the control boards etc that I will need for: General Lighting, LDG, CLP, 2 x Ejection Seat Pulleys (for the inertial cords) Being picture driven, I work well with pictures on how to connect everything up etc. For anyone that helps, I would be more than willing to send you a 75mm dia embroided patch of the F-18C (as per my avatar). I'm in no rush (just want it all working by DCS F18C release) but special mentions need to go to MetalnWood, Gadroc, Dimebug, Reactorone, Wasserfall and throughout all this, I have such an amazing wife who encourages me in this :)
  8. Great post - carrier ops to go with the F-18 and add weather and improved sea conditions (pitching deck at night)
  9. You ex RNZAF subs? and yes the detail is great. Someone here has done an RNZAF 3 Sqn skin. All they need to do now is remove the tailpipe up turn and cut it shorter and it would be mint.
  10. I know this is an old thread but Metal, what does turning off the page file do for performance? I have a separate drive for my page file. Between all of you I have such pit envy. I have started mine (metal is doing some of the panels for me) and taking my time. Once I gain some traction I'll post some pics/details etc. Anyone here willing to do a decent landing gear panel for me, I've got some dollars put away for it. Love your one Gadroc : ) And a caution light panel as well : )
  11. Hi Reactor, I'm keen. Have you just the one for sale or are you making a production run?
  12. Oh and if anyone is interested in making a functional land gear panel and handle, I will purchase. Just not the same clicking with a mouse or pressing G.
  13. Deadman, let me know when they are, I'm in need for some as I've placed the first panel order with Metal : ) Anyone who is thinking of ordering from Metal, I've got nothing but praise, great communication, constant updates and pictures and gives reasons all the time for what he does. My simpit has started :)
  14. Just taking a look now metal : ) And thanks for all your help to date, starting the cutting on the DimeBug pit tomorrow.
  15. Hi Agrasyuk, let me know if you are willing to add one to your next run for shipment to NZ. Thanks +1
  16. F18C This is my first post even though I have been a very long time reader and supporter of ED. Someone else here mentioned it is time for new maps, new map graphics and I have to agree. Would absolutely love DCS-F18C with carrier operations and I think really decent (I mean full) carrier operations alone would do wonders to this series. Imagine walking out to your aircraft, boarding and then going through the start-up routine, then being directed to your Cat all along whilst other aircraft are going through the motions. Being shot out in front, meeting up with a tanker, then returning for some circuits and eventually catching the 2 wire. The graphics of the carrier operations would have to be mint though, rolling deck, fully functioning people, steam from the cats etc. That for me (with updated graphics) would be worth paying twice as much for. I'd even pre-pay now for an F-18C.
