  1. Out with the old and in with the new - still a lot of work to do with cabling, riverting, belt tensioners, drogue gun etc
  2. Just a few more pictures from this week:
  3. So cool Neil, my 2nd one arrived today :) looking forward to doing person to person combat with them
  4. I agree, VR adds the visuals we have wanted but I still would like a certain amount of touchy feely from the likes of key switches and knobs and also a good quality (read solid) landing gear lever (as a boxed item). Have always loved your pit as well wasserfall, your seat is fantastic if I remember correctly.
  5. It can only get better thats for sure Kuky :) Same, every person who has been to my house want's to keep coming back as they cannot stand their monitors anymore :) What's your framerates like? I'm getting between 24 and 30 on high and pixel at 2.0 - cranked everything down and it didnt increase much, up high was getting 40 frames. How is anyone getting 60+ and especially on take off.
  6. A little more work this week, almost there. Later today is the access panel covers and also the threaded inserts for the mounting holes, plus the ejection seat launch tube. Next week will be some final machining of parts for the ejection seat, then home to wire up and look a the seat cushions etc before heading to the powder-coaters. Thinking about a nice rocket pack for under the seat as well. Thoughts on colour: Matt black? As you can see here, the access panel holes are all cutout. There are several holes in each of the consoles going through the base for running all the cables. The idea is to have all the USB, HDMI and Power cables all hidden away. The centre console will have 10 Port USB3 Hub hidden away and also a power distribution board, keeping it nice and tidy. Later on, I am planning to enclose one of the sims (yes building two of these) so I can hang my elbow out the side of the cockpit in the Rift :) The MFG Crosswinds will be adjustable in and out through quick release pins for those longer legged people (unlike me). And I'm not sure if I am allowed to mention anything but Andre' is looking at making an exclusive Jetseat to fit the MK10. It will be more compact, made of different material and not have an orange edge :) (Am I in trouble Andre?)
  7. Nice update Hegykc, some of us have kept the faith.
  8. Hi Impalor, mine is shipping to NZ. Have you made sure your payment and shipping details are correct on you oculus account?
  9. It's so hard to convey to others what it is like and until they jump in they seem skeptical, then like you Lobo - they all go WOW or Holy Shite. It's so cool seeing their reaction, priceless. I had 7 visitors yesterday and a couple more today coming over. Anyone thinking about ordering a rift now and wondering/worried about lead times, I ordered my 2nd rift 3 days ago and it's shipping already so there is virtually no delay at present.
  10. Cheers Kuky, wait till I get them both home and run them side by side :) I want to build up the sides of one to make it feel like an enclosed pit. Strong enough to be able to climb in and really feel like you are hopping in to a real aircraft. I do hope the wife understands :) Hows the Rift? take a huey out to the coast and land on a frigate, it's just insane!
  11. Thanks. Seat weighs in around 65KG's without harness and cushions. The whole thing, not sure. Base is quite heavy too.
  12. Woohoo moment right there :) not sure if you have had a DK1 or DK2 (I hadn't), but ENJOY Kuky! NB: I ordered my 2nd RIFT this morning and would you believe it is in "processing for shipment" already, so they must have really made some inroads on the production and stock levels.
  13. Starting up the Huey, hover taxing then accelerating away to the coast to land on a frigate steaming along at 20 knots. Bloody cool. Now all we need is for the chopper to not skid on the deck when sitting still.
  14. Has it arrived yet Kuky? I am thinking about a 2nd one for dogfighting etc.
  15. A little more work this weekend with the center console cutout and tacked. Next will come all the access panels, bolting down everything in position, tread-mat and new monitor bracket.
  16. A little more work yet before I show you the new one, getting there. There is going to be two side by side though :) I am loving Eve Valkerie, it feels like Battlestar Galactica when taking off.... and Katie Sackoff is the voice :)
  17. Mine was the same and it took approx 5 days from the notification it was shipped. Well worth the wait Krupi,
  18. That is an awesome drive, got that same M.2 Drive as well, installed into this:
  19. Mate, it arrived this morning. Running on my old rig with a GTX 1070 and sitting in the ejection seat is just unbelievable. Already messaged a couple of other pilots to get over here and test it out. Flying the Mirage2000 is just great. And I haven't altered any pixel density settings yet either.
  20. Coming from you Dimebug, I take that as a big compliment - thank you
  21. Cool Kuky, not long now. Mine hopefully arriving tomorrow (Thur 23rd). New computer arrived today as well.
  22. A little more work this week with the basics of the seat under way and the side consoles fabricated.
  23. Thanks for the tip Corbett, unfortunately not available for NZ :( I suppose it will be here SOON.
  24. Without a doubt Cobra - at this point in time, I'd like to just say RIP Goose, it's been 30 years since you passed but we will never forget you - Lest We Forget.
