  1. Your load times for DCS will be affected (a fair bit slower) if you use the HDD. I'd check to see how much room you have on the SSD and try my best to get DCS on the SSD. I however doubt you'd get 1.5 and 2.1 on the SSD so you might need to decide on priority.
  2. Pimax supports 2 base stations (The package I ordered comes with 2). My understanding is that yes, Vive base stations are supported. They have given the option to receive the Headset separate from the hand controllers and base stations. Delivery of February if you just want the headset, April if you want it has a bundle.
  3. I believe (to be determined) I'm going to use the left throttle of my TM setup. I currently use the slider for radar antenna position in the F5 and I find it a little awkward to get to. Given the left throttle only has two buttons on it, using it for the nozzle control will leave all the remaining buttons at your control of the throttle which will obviously be used more than the nozzle direction. I'm sure individual preference and time will be a huge factor for us all.
  4. I'd love to see you do some AA refueling. I'm wondering how hard it will be to look left until you make contact and then transition to looking at the tanker. lol, that'll be fun the first few times.
  5. :)
  6. Maybe you misunderstood my statement. You'd still be A-10 guys in your own squadron. The idea is to have a group of like minded individuals dedicated to given airframes and perform joint operations/training. All good either way. If you don't want to come into the fold, we of course would still be very interested in flying with your group. Let me know and we can set something up.
  7. Come join the CSG-1. We are working on forming a larger group but have a very active F-5 aggressor squadron and a smaller group flying a Hornet mod that follows realistic comms, formation and engagements. As soon as the Harrier lands we will have a squadron up and running for that, I would estimate approximately 5-10 people online Sunday and Tuesday regular participation. We will also be opening a 14 and 18 squad once they are available. No worries about rank or loosing control of your group, each squadron runs independently but trains and flies missions as a cooperative unit. Link in my signature. Discord link on the website.
  8. One of my squad mates has been running 4K on a 1080 for a while now with more than acceptable FPS. No need for a Ti.
  9. I would suggest that is something we would all like to see. VLSO is an amazing addition to overall experience.
  10. Good review. Its not perfect but the positives seem to far outweigh the negatives. My only concern from this review is the VR sickness after 5 minutes. Its probably nothing your body won't get used to. Heck it took me a week before I could use the Rift for any length of time.
  11. The Pimax team did say that they are primarily engineers and the like that are not good with PR. I would say that my very long, painful history with engineers would suggest the same. Personally, I don't care if the PR plan isn't that great just as long as the final product is what they say it is. All the reports and video's I've watched say its the best VR experience to date and I'd imagine nobody but the rivet counters will be disappointed with it.
  12. Nice to see the liftoff went as smooth as it did. I was wondering how difficult that was going to be.
  13. I still don't get how people think its going to be such a heavy drain on the hardware. I'm running high settings with a DP of 1.3 to 1.5 all the time. Does it get a little sketchy down low over Nevada, yes. Do I ever fly missions over Nevada at low altitude, no. Take away the DP increase and you go from demanding your maching run 8 million pixels down to 2.5. Run the Pimax at a DP of 1 at a higher resolution and you have no more drain on the machine than you do in the rift with higher DP.
  14. Just curious, have you actually used a TM setup?
  15. There's problems with all of them. I've had CH, Saitek, and TM. The one thing you have to take into consideration is the sensitivity of the TM is better than the other two. I can't comment on the VKB, it looks good but time will tell. You can search and find problems with any stick on the market. Don't hold yourself back from a TM because of a few bad reviews.
  16. Its a game, there's nothing to be ready for except a good challenge and a laugh or two.
  17. So it sounds like its a possible feature to be included or added at a later time given it meets the approximate timeframe of the 18 being modeled.
  18. Oh man, I wish they were shipping earlier. :)
  19. So looking forward to this.
  20. Is there any issue with runway length? I'm assuming you'd be limited to only a couple airports.

  22. Anyone believing they have the perfect HOTAS has lost objectivity.
