Changing the PRF worked - I wonder whether that is realistic...
-
Oh, ok - thanks :-)
-
PRF is set to default - I thought this mode did a sweep of High and then a sweep of Medium - so the target should be showing up and disappearing - or not?

I was under the impression, that the key feature of the F-15 is to be able to turn off it's radar and fire missiles at enemies, using data provided by AWACS aircraft. This way the F-15 stays undetected and, although the enemy knows that it is being painted by the AWACS, he never knows when to expect a missile up his tail. Unfortunately - I have no clue how is this (if it is) implemented in DCSW. Seemingly, one would need a datalink for that, though there is no mention of it in the documentation. Any thoughts on that?

Stuge Actually - I'm not sure. I have the global settings set to the metric system, however the F-15C probably uses nm IRL, so it could very well be nm. I'll try to do as You suggested and post back, thanks :-)

I have created a simple mission with my F-15C flying some 40 km directly behind an Il-76. Unfortunately though, I have been able to get the target on my radar only at around 20 km. Since the Candid is a big aircraft and the F-15Cs radar has a range of 160 km, I would presume, that I should have been able to get a mark on my radar much sooner than that. Could it be, that there some ongoing problem with radar detection in DCSW which I am not aware of?

Could it be that You are entering your password incorrectly (Caps Lock is on or something like that)?

The long wait is well worth it ;-) Happy New Year ED!

I am getting the same frustration as the TS in the instant action mission "jousting missiles" - the aircraft rolls to the left all the time. The outside view looks as if the plane's stores are loaded evenly - so this shouldn't be the case. The "Free Flight" mission works just fine.

Please count me in for the 109 :-)

Count me in! :-)

You couldn't fly the Su-27 before a standalone module (or FC) came out, so nothing changed for the end user. You can drive the Abrams without the standalone module - it would be unlikely, that this would change with it's release.
-
I'm more than certain, that this wouldn't happen. Most probably You will still be able to control the M1A1 using the old cockpit and model, while owning the standalone Abrams module will give You all the extra goodies :-)

Thank's guys :-)

Can someone give me the manual to the new DSC Su-27? Unless it violates anything that is.

Troops stop on contact and fail to advance
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in Mission Editor
This is sad. :-( Have the developers said anything about addressing this issue? I understand, that they have their hands full with all the yummies coming up, but this really kills earthbound mission building. P.S. I am not complaining - just asking ;-) -
Troops stop on contact and fail to advance
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in Mission Editor
Something is definately wrong - either with my mission building skills or with DCSW - even without the UH-1H - when two groups of soldiers make contact they exchange a couple of shots and then just sit there... Track file attached. Temp.trk -
I have created a simple mission to play around with the Huey's transport capability. I get 13 men onboard and fly them to a location near enemy troops. The idea being something like vertical envelopment - hit the enemy where they least expect it. The problem is, that once my troops have made contact with an inferior number of enemy soldiers (4) they fire a couple of rounds and just stay there. So a puny enemy soldier heroically keeps my 13 men at bay. Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation of the game? Another thing I find strange, is that the other three enemy soldiers fail to recognize that there is a battle going on and don't rush in to help the other guy... Track and mission enclosed there is no need to watch it all - it's me mostly making bad landings - scroll to the end. UH-1H Landings.trk Troop Transport Test.miz

Group of units disappears after disembarking
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in Bugs and Problems
Ooops - sorry - here it is. Troop Transport Test.miz -
I have created a group, consisting of 14 infantry units to see how would they try to fit on 13 seats. The group entered the chopper one by one and the last guy was left outside. I flew to the zone where the group was supposed to embark, however the radio menu did not list the group, only the smoke option. When I picked the smoke option a smoke signal appeared where the 14th guy was left. 13 men missing without firing a shot - DoD should do something about this massacre! :-)

I thought we can control Manpads, can't we?

500 in FAB-500 is the total weight of the bomb in kilograms. The weight of explosives in a plain FAB-500 is 213 kg.

Sorry - I am not a native English speaker, so the question was probably too vague. When I want to make a turn I roll the F-15C 90 degrees and apply backwards pressure on the stick (Falcon habit :-) ). The plane starts shaking and, in a lot of cases, becomes uncontrollable, probably trying to enter a spin. I think this situation exacerbates at higher speeds - if I gain speed before launching a missile, making the plane turn afterwards frequently results in loss of control (I only have this module for two weeks and have not figured it out yet... though I have completely read the manual). I presume, that maybe the right way to turn the Eagle is not to roll it 90 degrees, but to roll it less, so that it would retain controllability. Similar to the Su-25T - more than 30 or so degrees roll with backwards stick pressure results in loss of control for me.
-
BIGNEWY Thanks - I'll try that. Is there a list somewhere of the units than can be loaded onto the UH-1H, or is it only two infantry types? And I can only disembark troops at a certain location, or wherever I see fit?

What is the maximum roll angle of the F-15C so that the plane does not start shaking during a turn and try to get out of hand?
