  1. Almost definitely a moire interference pattern You will always get it if you photograph a digital display with a digital camera.
  2. Apart from the 13 file updates, did you get the firmware update that follows?
  3. Well, fingers crossed, Rift all sorted for me now :) No flashes during a marathon test session and controllers tracking sweetly. Oddly I now have the USB driver warning showing, just a warning, everything works perfectly despite it :)
  4. ......in your opinion. I'm having a blast in DCS with my Rift S. Lovely sharp visuals and silky smooth action :) It's not worthless to me, in fact a great bang for the buck at £400.00
  5. Hey, that's pretty neat :) Good way to compare headsets instead of the daft 'through the lens' videos
  6. My Rift S is running rock solid for some time now. I get the 'flash' maybe once every two hours of playing, sometimes never notice one at all in a flying session. Excellent crisp visuals, can read just about everything in the cockpit from normal seating position and good fps with no stuttering.
  7. Lucky here too :) No tracking issues in DCS at all. I have a space in my room where I play non sim games and a 'scale' Spitfire cockpit for DCS against the wall. However I disable the guardian completely. Oh, yes, I do get the flashes tho'..but only one or two in a typical session.
  8. Yeah, now we know why the desk Jockeys love their monitors :pilotfly:
  9. Good isn't it? I'm mighty impressed with mine and I can't help but smile at some of the reviews of Reverb and Index where pilots are getting all excited about reading all the dials at normal seated position. I'm thinking, well, I can clearly read them all like that with my S too!
  10. Oculus Rift S. No Steam required :) . Best VR Bang for the Buck at the moment in my opinion.
  11. Hmm, haven't had any audio glitches with mine. First I've heard of that.
  12. Rift S running reliably for me with no black outs. Just the odd flash...maybe one every 4 or 5 hours.
  13. All smooth for me too...running 1.38 PTC
  14. You mention the Odyssey + so I guess you know that you need a reasonable amount of lighting in your room for good tracking..but just in case you don't...
  15. Yeah, I'm trying to justify the purchase with the same argument
  16. You don't need Steam for stand alone DCS :)
  17. Good luck Don, I'm sure you're gona be golden this time
  18. My experience exactly Cripple :) Great to see you around again, was an avid reader of your Spit Pit. Dave
  19. A couple of things. I had the same problem. Make sure you allow Windows to access your camera. I found that pulling the display port plug from the PC, wait 5 secs, plug back in, woke the headset up for me. I know it's not a permanent fix, but lots of folks are having similar problem. Oculus are working on it.
  20. Brilliant! Restarting Oculus woke it up. I feel happier doing it this way rather than re-plugging ) Cheers for the heads up Joey :)
  21. Hmm...I'll have to try that. I have to unplug/replug the Display port at the PC end, then it works beautifully for the whole day with no glitches at all.
  22. Some useful references to that on this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smTPpz-XDwg
  23. That would normally point to you having too little light in your room for the insight tracking to work properly.
