  1. Yes, particularly if you have a well powered USB port. I use a StarTech USB expansion card and the Quest stays charged indefinitely
  2. Go to controller settings menu. Far left column, scroll to the bottom, ui assignments, assign a button to 'centre VR view'.
  3. So what resolution are you setting in the Oculus PC app?
  4. That worked, thank you! Running DCS executable (not updater) from 'launch game' of streamer app task bar icon did the trick
  5. Cheers, I'll give it a try later. Just waiting for the latest DCS update to finish.
  6. With the streamer app running on your desktop and while you are viewing the desktop in your Quest, press the menu button on your left hand controller. A new window will open and there is an option to view available games. There is also an option to start Steam VR. This is what I tried and DCS appeared as an available game, but it wants to install the Steam version.
  7. Do you need the Steam version of DCS for this to work? I ask, 'cos when I try to launch from the streamer it wants to install the steam version. I have the non-Steam version of DCS.
  8. Sweet Best 'through the lens' video of any VR headset I have seen. The Quest 2 is Awesome!
  9. The DCS in game resolution setting has nothing to do with VR. Just leave it at your monitor's native resolution.
  10. I'm currently trying 4128x2096 at 72Hz. I mostly fly WW2 prop planes and this is fine for dogfights with a handful of planes. With V23 it's important not too add any super sampling with OTT or debug tool. I just turn off ASW and get a detailed smooth experience with these settings. Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.5GHz. Asus-Z170-PRO MB - CORSAIR H105 HYDRO CPU COOLER EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW3 Elite - 16GB DDR4 2666MHZ HYPERX SAVAGE. SAMSUNG M.2 SSD 128GB SM951 Boot Drive - SAMSUNG SSD 500GB EVO Working Drive. Windows 10 Professional
  11. Yep, much improved since the Link came out of Beta. You need the v23 updates for the headset and PC app
  12. Ah, pleased you sorted the MSSA setting Picture quality is impressive with Quest 2 via link. It's an encouraging improvement over my Rift S. As I mentioned previously, the 100% increase in physical pixels compared to the Rift S gives a much smoother detailed image. The downside is that this comes with a processing overhead. My 1080ti GPU is showing it's age and I will upgrade to something like an RTX 3080 as soon as I can snag one. The RTX cards have the advantage of much improved encoding hardware that the Link cable demands. Having said that, I'm enjoying WW2 dogfights with a handful of planes and getting smooth gameplay. My hardware: Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.5GHz. Asus-Z170-PRO MB - CORSAIR H105 HYDRO CPU COOLER EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW3 Elite - 16GB DDR4 2666MHZ HYPERX SAVAGE. SAMSUNG M.2 SSD 128GB SM951 Boot Drive - SAMSUNG SSD 500GB EVO Working Drive. Windows 10 Professional
  13. Yes, the MSSA setting in DCS. By all means try the Nvidia control panel settings and see what you think. Beware of placebo effects..just saying
  14. Most settings in the Nvidia control panel have no effect in VR. The main exception is power management which should be set to prefer maximum performance. The one setting that helps reduce the flickering jaggies is MSSA. Unfortunately it has a big hit on performance. The other thing that helps is a VR headset with physically higher resolution panels. I've progressed through CV1, Rift S and now Quest 2. There is a marked reduction in flickering edges at it's native resolution. I would suggest trying some MSSA with other settings dialled down a tad if required.
  15. I've installed this one: StarTech.com PCIe USB 3.1 Card - 2x USB C 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbps - PCIe Gen 3 x4 - ASM3142 Chipset - USB Type C PCI Express Card (PEXUSB312C3) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B087G7T234/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 With it's optional SATA power connected the Quest 2 stays at 80% charge indefinitely :)
  16. It depends on your PC's USB port. I installed a StarTech PCIe USB c card which has an optional SATA power input. The Quest 2 slowly drains to about 80% charge, then sits there indefinitely :) Still waiting patiently for the V23 update
  17. Yep, the Quest 2 is looking good and it's not even rendering at it's native resolution yet. It's going to be interesting to see it when facebook releases the Q2's handbrake!
  18. Don't forget, the Quest is essentially a hybrid standalone/PCVR headset. The new Quest 2 will perform as a PCVR headset, near 2k per eye at 90 Hz with the optic link cable.
  19. Cheers  Enjoy your Reverb. Sounds like an impressive bit of kit :) I was tempted but decided to spend my cash on the Quest and an RTX 3080.
  20. Well, I'll keep you guys updated. I ordered a Quest 2 (currently using a Rift s). Facebook are promising us a tasty headset when the Quest 2 gets full Link support with near 2K per eye res at 90Hz. At 299 quid I consider it a good punt :)
  21. Nicely put into perspective :) Do folks use Windows? Do they own a smart phone?...'nuff said! I ordered the Quest 2 10 minutes after it was released. Should be fun to try wireless VR and with the Link cable at 90Hz it will be a nice upgrade from my Rift s. Hell, 90% increase in resolution at that price. An offer i couldn't refuse
  22. Ah yes! Damn, that feels like ages ago now. Thanks for the heads up about the backers names in the manual :) yep, there are I am too. Just the Me.262A-1 to go..I doubt I'll live that long :megalol:
  23. Exactly, it baffles me why the devs painstakingly get all the technical aspects of the aircraft as close to real as possible, then introduce these tacky camera effects :(
