  1. I would assume Oculus Touch controllers as they wrote 'Touch' with a capital T.
  2. I have no mods...I get the brief black sky thing when returning from the F10 map too.
  3. Agreed. I've tried the X-Plane virtual controls and it's great for some gentle thermal soaring in the Alps but anything more agile and it's tricky to control. Maybe using a simple unconnected 'dumb' joystick to grab hold of might work, I'll have to give it a go. It would be good to find a solution, because reaching around flicking switches and turning knobs works really well.
  4. Sounds a bit fuzzy to me .... I can get a similar effect with my Rift by removing my prescription lens inserts.
  5. +1 so true :)
  6. I guess that's because it's only being rendered to the monitor at the monitor resolution. When you put the Rift on it starts rendering at VR resolution.
  7. How are you reading your fps? I turn off ASW with the tray tool and check fps with the tray tool hud. On the Nevada map it moves around between 70 and 90 fps over the desert and a steady 45fps low through Vegas
  8. Ah, you won't be the first person to have the sensor the wrong way round . That was me  Pleased the puzzle is solved
  9. Well that definitely sounds like a tracking issue. Make sure your Rift has a clear view of your sensor/s. The Rift uses internal gyros to sense head axis movements. The external sensors track your headset's position in 3D space. I only have one sensor active when I sit in my cockpit, works perfectly.
  10. You get the two sensors included with the latest Rift package
  11. Sounds like your headset is losing sight of it's sensor...assuming it's a Rift :)
  12. Yep, nice improvement for me coming from a 980 to the 1080Ti . Got one for a good price too, just after the RTX cards were announced. BTW that 6700K will clock nicely up to about 4.7 :)
  13. Well I guess to answer your first question then, is, you will likely experience the Virtual world as you experience the 'real' world. The magic of VR is more than just the 3D depth, it's the total immersion in a world that is FULL scale and all enveloping.
  14. VR follows your head movement 100% The only limitation is your physical flexibilty to move your head (as in real life).
  15. John Lewis in Milton Keynes about a year and a half ago. Went to one of their in-store demos and handed over the cash on the spot  I now play exclusively RIFT VR on my gaming PC.
  16. Good point..and ANY distortion in a simulation like DCS will be a game breaker.
  17. Has to be the RIFT! In the cockpit not watching it on a screen. :)
  18. anyhoo....I'm sure you will be fine. I was in the same mindset prior to buying my Rift and approached my first Spitfire flight gingerly (did you see what I did there?). I taxied around for a few minutes then took the plunge. The feeling of really flying was so overwhelming that I forgot that I might feel air sick and continued a gentle circuit and landed. I kept it to short flights and slowly built up to more vigorous patterns. The only time I feel slightly uncomfortable is in a hard turning dog fight where I'm having to crane my neck around left, above and right quickly, but it soon passes. Have fun and let us know your first impressions. I still get a buzz from that
  19. But is the hair colour change permanent?
  20. I'm not familiar with the DCS module you are using but it sounds like you need to use a rotary encoder. They work easily with the Bodnar board.
  21. Don is correct, I can confirm that Dash does the trick:thumbup:
  22. 980 here. ditto. Nice and smooth:thumbup:
  23. Just pushing it up to 1.4 makes a huge difference to the readability of dials and small text for me. As has been said, finding the Rift's sweet spot is most important and you get there by adjusting the HMD to your face - up/down and twisting too.
  24. Yep, I have a set of those for my Rift, highly recommended :)
