Well actually it is used on some small aircraft and gliders, at least for pitch trim. Hold stick to maintain desired attitude, press trigger trim and make any final adjustments with the normal trim. Generally not an option for aircraft with large control forces and aileron/rudder trim are not usually used so often as to be worth complicating, but a valid trim method in certain circumstances...

*facepalm* You're 100% right... That's what you get reading the forum on a small office on a moving bus !

Afaik, Just a new external model has been announced so far. Long term, who knows? Although a 6DoF pit is likely IMHO...

Glad to hear you are making progress and look forward to seeing the results!

OK, let's back up a minute. There are a number of possibilities here with varying degrees of difficulty/cost and I don't think you're clear about where on that scale you want/need to be. Possibilities, non exhaustive but in rough order of increasing difficulty: - Replace external model of existing flyable aircraft with the existing Chinook but flight model and cockpit are unchanged - Use flight model of another aircraft to make existing Chinook flyable but have a HUD only - Create new realistic flight model for existing Chinook and fly with HUD only or copied cockpit from a Huey - Full on DCS: Chinook The first two are (by comparison) much simpler and a number of (relatively) simple mods have done this for other aircraft. These *might* be in the range of things you could ask as a favour or for a not astronomical sum of money, but would give you a Chinook that flies like a Huey or Mi-8. For either of the last two (which I think is where you want to be, at least option 3) you are taking full on development and 5-6 figures GBP straight off. This is not a favour you are going to be able to just ask nicely for. How deep are your pockets? Edit: it's worth pointing out that, to my knowledge, the innards of flight models are not accessible to modders, so unless you can persuade Belsimtek to open up the workings of their models to you, any custom flight model is going to involve starting from scratch. You don't just update a few numbers in a table...

A-10C, much more vulnerable than it sounds to be ...
Flying Penguin replied to Hueyman's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
In the Stan or a 2nd world beat down scenario like Iraq, maybe, but in a true peer opponent scenario, the A10 is going to be fighting for it's life as much as the dude on the ground. In fact, cold war doctrine for (at least) the German Bundeswher was that it was every man's duty to harass airborne threats. The expectation was not that an infantry platoon stood a good chance of downing them, but rather it forced them to choose between taking on the full spectrum of NATO air defences above rifle range or constant harassing fire doing regular damage from any bugger with an assault rifle or bigger. And whilst an infantryman may score only 1 or 2 hits, times that by a few squads, add in a light machine gun or two and you've got a pretty good chance of giving an unwary pilot a good bloody nose. -
I for one welcome our new drone packing Amazon overlords......

A-10C, much more vulnerable than it sounds to be ...
Flying Penguin replied to Hueyman's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
No aircraft is invulnerable, if you are taking significant amounts of 7.62mm fire that suggests you're doing it wrong! Sufficient 7.62mm fire will bring down any aircraft if it flies low enough for long enough, same with any other weapon. What heights are you engaging from? It sounds like you are either running in too shallow or waiting until you can see the whites in their eyes before firing, neither of which is conducive to a long and damage free life. As for it's reputation of being well armoured, your pilot survived and your plane landed in one piece didn't it? What are you complaining about? ;) -
That's not Tactical Bacon.... THIS is Tactical Bacon!

Or Kevin Bacon made out of bacon....

Well as has been said, anyone can download the module and install it before purchase. Each module has an MD5 hash on the download page which you can use to check the download is complete and there is no corruption using freeware tools like winmd5. If you really are out in the back of beyond, you can download it in parts using a torrent to allow you to take it in chunks. With the exception of having to re-download if there is a problem, the download is risk free if done pre-purchase and validation tools are used. What have you got to loose? A boxed version is unlikely to ever come so it's this or Lock On Platinum and FC2 until the end of days.... Oh and as for credit cards, if you order something online from one store, what makes it safer than the ED store? Only time I've ever had my card 'hacked', it wasn't the (small model) shop's fault, the buggers hacked into Visa itself....

If you think Brits take our tea seriously, that's nothing compared to the passion with which we can discuss bacon butties.... Unlike you Yank's, bacon doesn't go on everything, it is not deep fried, it is not put on sweets, the art of the bacon buttie is king :-)

That's the most Chelsea bacon butty recipe I've ever seen... Ya great big southern jessie..... ;-)

Tomato sauce? Heretic! You'll be buttering the roll next! Sliced white and HP sauce, no other way cuts it....

So if you buy, download, burn to CD and write the key on it, how is that different in end result to ordering from Amazon? The only difference is the quality of the packaging. You are going to have this problem more and more as services like Steam become more popular, might as well bite the bullet now....

You don't need a formal recipe. * Boil your favourite rice as normal, leave to cool * Take an egg per person and whisk in a cup * Heat a few tbsp of oil over a medium heat in a wok * Fry whisked egg until no runny egg remains then break up with a spoon * Add rice and fry gently until the rice no longer clumps together and is completely warmed through * If feeling adventurous, add thinly sliced spring onion out Chinese pickled vegetables (such as YaCai) a couple of minutes before it is done Simples....
